Unboxing & Update! Let's Look at These NEW Markers! Arrtx Oros 90 Set

There is no overlap in colors between this set and the 36 skin tone set
or 80 assorted color set: amzn.to/3uQ9GQx *that is a bundle price for both sets. Also sold individually.
Things you should know about these markers:
*Arrtx has 2 lines of markers, the Alp which feature fine bullet tips and chisel nibs and the Oros (shown here) which feature brush and chisel nibs. The Alps run about .60 cents a marker and the Oros are about $1 a marker.
*The colors in the OROS and ALP sets match, so the 80 Alp markers have the same colors as the 80 Oros marker set and so on. *The Alp markers also come in sets of color familys. To see a through overview of those sets please watch this video: • These would be perfect...
*There are no duplications in color except for black and colorless blenders if you buy the 80,90 and skintone sets.
*Arrtx says they will offer refills/nibs or open stock markers in the future. In the meantime the Shinhan and Art-n-Fly inks match this line: www.artnfly.co...
The skin tones match copic ink refills by color name: shrsl.com/2wvps
*These markers use the same nibs as Altenew so you can upgrade the brush nib (or swap the chisel nib for a brush on the older Alp markers) with these: shrsl.com/2wvqb
*The brush nibs are reversable compressed fiber similar to Ohuhu nibs. If they start to fray, pull them out and flip it.
*Each Oros set comes with a carry bag. The 80 color set is a tight fit. The new 90 set design is much better. The skin tone one is loose but fine. I plan to find a box that I can put the grids into so I can keep them all together in a logical order.
*The 80 color set is a better one to startwit as it has a more useful selection, then I would go for the 90 setas it has a lot of greys, pastels and skin tones. You can decide at that point if you need more skin tones, you might not.

tHANK you for the review!! I purchased the 80 set and the skin tones. Oh, it was on special and I got the skin tones but they are not the brush markers! I was surprised, but will live. I'm glad you suggested the80 set as all I wanted to do was try out brush markers. I already own SN, Arteza and Tonic markers and still just learning. The price was wonder to add brush markers to my collection to see the difference. The 80 set plus the skin tones are on sale as a bundle for 89.00 at this time. Thank you and I will start to play!!

What a fantastic set, I love the fact they come with such great storage too that makes them easy to transport. I can’t believe how affordable they are either. How I wish those were available when I was at university lol. I remember saving up to buy one Pantone Letraset marker a month (which I believe are now Winsor and Newton Promarkers) and they were very expensive at the time, retailing at about £5 ($7 US) each. Copics were the cheaper option back then and very hard to come by. 😄

Thank you for the review Lindsay, so helpful as always!! I just adore the new design of that bag, that and the stands/holders are really swaying me toward getting this set... (I actually LOVE the side clasps on the bag, as someone who would be constantly terrified of any single marker falling out at the edges-I wonder if there is some way to better balance the strap and still keep the side clasps?)

Lindsay- It's funny that you mentioned the nib length and how you compared it to Ohuhu. My son uses his markers hard. Whenever I let him use my Ohuhus, the nib starts looking like the Artx you have there, and it definitely throws me off. However, his Artifys have held up to his heavy pressure! I was going to mention that you could probably adjust each of the nibs, to expose more. I just use the Copic tweezers, that I saw Jazza use, when he was refilling his markers.

These are so pretty and I adore that they come with cases and stand. Very nice. Lol too bad the alcohol inks make me woozy. Yes, I’d love to see you make the other marker bag better to use. :)

The straps are opposite like that cause you’re supposed to hold a Crossbody it makes it easier

On my screen at least too many of the colors in this set have multiple copies in the same set. Nice to see the swatch cards and see the unboxing though!

Question... on the color chart, bottom right corner... there’s some “instructions”... what does the #1 mean? It says something about spinning the cap softly when using or after use? I saw that when I was viewing them on Amazon yesterday after I watched the cupcake video and noticed it. I hoped you would have mentioned what it meant. Do you think that “softly spinning” the cap would help them be easier to open? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love looking at your marker reviews! I have my heart set on the big set of Ohuhu Brush markers because I love my pastels so much, but I bought that huge set of Bianyos when they were on sale last year (via the enabler LINDSAY!!) 😆 so I don’t think I can justify them to my husband because I already don’t use what I have. In all fairness though, you don’t have much mojo when you spend 5 months homeless, living in hotels and your life is packed up in storage. Now that it’s mostly unpacked, I can hopefully start creating again. I need to find a swap or challenge or something to push me. Oh well. Sorry for my typical long message, but hey, I’m here and at least I’m paying attention LOL ❤️

I know how you feel Nancy Osborn, we also had 10 months where we were in Airbnbs, and it took 6 months to find a place, and we were homeless for 3 months...with our stuff in storage. It does send you crazy, moving and packing the car up. Find your desk, set yourself up with some things that are comforting, and when you do move here and there, try to stay in the same direction. Go to a base or place that is comforting, for us it was Doll's Point, a place with lovely pine trees near Botany Bay. It could be a coffee shop or library, just make sure you go regularly. Laugh, cry and have a nice mug full of your favourite drinks. I do hope you find your beautiful home soon, and it will be really great. We found ours and it is worth the wait. xx

I have had my eye on these markers for some time now but I wanted brush tips so I was overjoyed when I heard that they had finally come out with them. However I was dismayed when I went to their website to buy them when they had a sale going on and I saw that they came in these awful bags instead of the cute lovely boxes that the round tips come in. I hate these bags, and I so want the boxes, oh Lindsay please please, tell them to offer the possibility of buying these new brush tips with those colourful beautiful boxes that they came out with before. Maybe they will also listen to you. The bags might be very modern and for young people but us old ladies need our lovely pastel coloured boxes to put on our tables to drool over and make pretty instagram pictures, pretty please??

How fortuitous. I just watched your alcohol review since I am looking for replacement s for my Shinhan Touch. 30 have gone dry and I looked at cost to buy refills and so I thought I might try something new.

Refill inks aren't that badly priced since you can refill one marker about 10-12 times before having to buy the same refill ink again.

Hi Ms. Lindsay, I'm 14 years old and an advanced beginner artist and want to buy alcohol cheap markers, I would buy ohuhu markers but then they are a bit costly in my country, I wanted your opinion if artify markers are better or the arrtx oros or arrtx alp markers are better (also they both are cheap and not that costly) because I wanted to buy one set of markers as a advanced beginner so Ms. Lindsay which one would you recommend?

Hi Lindsay. I'm struggling to find a set of alcohol markers that work for me. I'm not an experienced colorist or artist but am working on improving my skills. I have a very few Copic markers and do like them. I also have a set of Arteza skin tone which I find very useful. Finally, I have a set of Par Koo markers but I don't have much luck with them. Here's my question... does it make sense to pick one brand, maybe Arrtx, for the big set of colors and then augment with Copic or Arteza for missing colors? Or, perhaps another way of putting it is can I mix Copic markers with other markers? Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, I'd go with a large budget set and buy individual copics as needed. You will probably need to go to copic for super pale shades

I'm looking to get a "starter" set of markers, would you recommend these over Ohuhu or perhaps a different brand? I've used alcohol markers before but I'm not ready for the higher end sets like Copic so any advice would be much appreciated.

This brand is nice but I don't recommend starting with the 90 set first. Start with the 80 set as it has a more balanced color palette. The 90 set has lots of pastels, greys and dark tones. Get the 80 set first.

I like the look of the pastels in this set. I have the ohuhu pastels but sometimes I like even softer color. These might just be perfect. Thank you for the review.
