I read somewhere that citizens in gangs of rome act as an active terrain of sorts. Some gang members have an ability to 'vanish' into the crowd and in game terms you can take away the model from the table if it's close to these mobs of citizens and then reappear somewhere else. I really like this sort of mechanic. With bystanders on the board it creates a feeling that you're in a crowded city.

Great review! Will be getting these for dark sun encounters.

This kit could be a first step in a serie about the servile wars, followed by gladiators, these figures fit well in the centuries btw late Republic 'til at least the 3rd century AD, it could be mixed with some of the Dark Ages' boxes.
