This was one of the best teams in UNC history in my opinion. Tyler Hansbrough couldn't have gotten the record without his teammates. Wayne Ellington, Ty Lawson, Danny Green, Deion Thompson, Marcus Ginyard and the fact that they all chose to stay in school for more than 1 year. That's rare these days. We need more like them. Go Heels

Lalifter Fitness nah 2016 n 17 teams were stacked too. 2017 has to be my favorite UNC team just because of what happened the year prior

Scott Worley First thing. Hans rough is the GOAT. but...Lawson and Ellington both left as juniors. Ed Davis was huge off the bench and left after freshman year. Danny Greens impact cannot be replicated. Ginyard was hurt all this year too. Imagine if he wasn’t...those were great times. Nothing better than watching Ellington shoot. Such a pure shot.

@@bzgotjays I agree about Ellington, he had like a cole Anthony like jump shot. I knew they stayed atleast 3 years. Tyler 4 though

Ive only been watching college basketball since 2007 but this is the best team that i have seen yet they should have went undefeated I just have not seen a team as domainent in the NCAA tornoment as this win. When they were at their best no one could stop them.

Hansborough was amazing. He wasn't that high of a leaper and his shot looked kind of off at times which made people think that they could block him and they would occasionally. But just as likely they would just swat at the ball and collect a foul. And he was so strong he would still make the shot and then just go to the line for 3 point play. He did that over and over through his 4 year career. My second most favorite player behind Phil Ford. I watched Phil Ford play when I was in high school.

Just wanted to say thanks for this video. There were several games that I did not get to see during the 2008-09 run. I still think that this was a better team than the 1982 team. This team did not have a weakness in players. They should have gone undefeated but they picked up the championship and beat Dook 2 times during the regular season..

Quite possibly the last GREAT College Basketball team!!! This team was GREAT!!! Hansbrough, Frasor, Green, etc...They were really fun to watch

This my favorite Tar Heel team. Just think, had Ginyard not had trouble with his foot surgery, had Tyler Zeller not had his hand broken in the Kentucky game, Had Hansbrough not had the shin thing early, and Ty the toe late....this team did it all, but, as amazing as these guys were, it could have been even better!

Michigan State did not belong on the floor with North Carolina that night. They could not match up with them. North Carolina had beat them earlier in the year by double digits and they did it again that night. It's not really Michigan state's fault. There was really no one in the nation that could handle North Carolina that year.

Carolina 98-63 vs Sparty the first time. I was pulling for UCONN so Carolina could score 105 points in the Finals. Oh well.

05-06' was my favorite. Ray Felton, Sean May, Rashaad McCants, Marvin Williams, Jawad Williams, Jackie Manuel etc. Illinois was supposed to win 🤷‍♂️

Actually, Carolina beat Illinois in Greensboro the year prior to this title match. I wasn't worried much. The best won. 2009 UNC team was better than the 05 squad. No doubt.

That was actually 04-05. 05-06 was Hansbrough's freshman year.

Yea but i still say mich st was good and i know they won in the semi beating uconn. But uncon I still say uncon had a off night i remmber uconn was the only team that really had a chance at beating unc or makeing it a closer game I remmber all year tggat yeaff in school everyone said unc is goid but uconn is right behind them i just wish uconn could have played them
