How was it rushed?

Have you played the other uncharted games? They had better villains better choreographed levels. This game gives you amazing set pieces but they are forced and rushed. Drake and the boat level was completely unnecessary. It felt out of place, and drakes pursuit. not to mention how much it set up for uncharted 4 as the game didn't explain much of the elements happening in the game.

I've played 2,3 and 4. I've always been curious as to why Uncharted 3 is regarded as the weakest by fans. It's my favourite for what you mentioned, ie the amazing set pieces. I think it has the best set pieces of the series. Then again I'm a huge fan of cinema, I mean I'm not a die hard gamer so I'm always impressed by games that are most cinematic and U3 was the best for that. U2 probably had the best gameplay though I can't be too sure as I haven't played that in years. I recently completed U4 and that was great and they really utilised the power of the PS4 with the most beautiful scenery. Emotionally it was the best. I missed the memorability of U3 with some of its set pieces like that absolutely insane plane sequence in the desert.

Yes, Uncharted 3 had great set pieces. However, that does not make it a great game. Set pieces that are shoveled in without context or proper build up comes across as forced and lazy. Kinda like Michael Bay when he places explosives in movies without any context or build-up. Think about it. A random underground city in London? Okay but not enough time is placed to explain its significance. The boat set piece was cool. However, that whole stage had no direct impact on the overall story. Like he just floats back into a beach and meets up with Elena. Syria heist was cool, but then Katherine and his right-hand man vanishes into a wall? Not to mention that supporting middle eastern character Kalim from Saudi Arabia had no distinctive personality like Tenzin from Uncharted 2 or Eddie Raja from uncharted 1 Oh and Saul should have died. The games theme was about Nates obsession with treasure. How people around him was exposed to danger because of his endless obsession. However Nate never faced any consequences. Thereby having Saul die was a great message. Overall the game is not bad. However, it is not a masterpiece in comparison to the other games. To be fair half of the developers were missing in its production because they were making the Last of Us which was a better game by far.

Fair enough. I'm a casual gamer (which you can probably tell). U2 and 4 probably are more cohesive games. When it comes to pure storytelling, I've yet to be blown away by any videogame so I'm always very sceptical on that front ( ThoughI've enjoyed the Uncharted stories very much but they don't approach anything that cinema's greatest stories provide). I'm more impressed by how video games over the years have extrapolated the idea of a set piece into those resembling a Hollywood film. In fact nowadays I'm more impressed by video game set pieces than Hollywood ones. Your comparison to Michael Bay though is harsh as he hasn't produced a great action scene in years as he's become lost in close ups of CGI robots. Anyway I'm only just about to play The Last of Us which I've heard great things about for years lol.
