I just beat this on Crushing. Don't give up. It's possible. You just have to be patient. Kill the first wave of guys, grab ammo and nades as fast as you can and when the stranglers and heavy's show up run to the top of the cliff. Take em out slowly. One by one till you beat it.

Thanks a lot! You're right about this fight being calculated, thanks for noticing. Before I started, I didn't think I would like No HUD mode as much as I do. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you give it a shot.

@Jonathon Banasiak That's a hard question... They are pretty much the same but Chloe feels more fluid with her movements. IDK if that is placebo or if they optimized the movement from U4 to UTLL. Chloe also moves a bit faster but I think that is just cause she is shorter than Nate so they upped her animation speeds so that she would move at the same speed as Nate. So my answer is Chloe but only by a little bit. And Chloe has a better ass :)

also too much difficulty kills the fun, the satisfaction of joy you should feel while playing any video games is turned into frustration.

Worst uncharted level of all time. I started it with depleted ammo and no grenades. Required a restart of the chapter to get ammo. Nathan's initial roll to the left when the level starts can take you off a cliff have you hang on an edge or go into cover on the wrong side of the box most of the tactics go out the window, it gives you the illusion of options but they aren't real there is only a few ways to beat this level. It's poorly designed, poorly tested and not fun. After platinum trophies in the previous 3 I traded the game in after this section. Not even Ornstein and Smough in Dark Souls was this laborious and beating it came with none of the reward just crossing your fingers the RNG gods smile on you. Being grabbed by enemies and your partner doesn't even help really doesn't add to the immersion along with the ridiculously accurate enemies yet slow an inaccurate snipers, it's a poor set piece thrown together during a final crunch at naughty Dog before launch. Single handedly ruined the entire crushing play through with a difficulty spike that made everything bad about the game seem so much worse. It's like a the most autistic programmer at Naughty Dog was forced to cram this level in before launch day and he couldn't give it to q&a for testing. This level gave me cancer and aids, what an achievement.

@@RoyBrown777 RNG is important in the first 20 seconds. But when you found cover on the ship it is basically about knowing what to do and be fast. From 0:38 on.

I'm sorry but Crushing difficulty is very bullshit and counter intuitive. It is not bad until you reach Libertalia. At that point game becomes trial and error and I don't mind trial and error games, but it really does not befit uncharted. And when I say its counter intuitive is becuase you got so many platforms and movement options, but what does it matter when in crushing you will be dead within the seconds trying to reach it. They want you to be agressive, but not agressive at the same time. Other problem is that you may reach this point without any ammo (like I did). They could have placed ammo and weapons that would be useful at begining of level. Now if you want to know what kind of games have good difficulty look no further than Doom and Doom Eternal. Those games actually give you plenty of oportunities you just need to be skillful in handling your repertoire, but in here there is rarely any opportunity and you need many times to rely on luck. If they just changed the parametars of how often can enemy hit you while you are swinging or jumping or generaly just moving at faster pace that would have made it much more fair and make you much more active instead of praying that enemy wont flank you, throw you a grenade and if you will get ammo or gun you need at that moment.

In my opinion, the problem with Uncharted 4 is that it has many illogical/buggy flaws that can become annoying on crushing. - Enemies immediately know where you are and even if you quickly kill the one who sees you, he already somehow informed all the others about your location. Once they know where you are they follow you even when they cannot possibly see you: I was standing behind a walll and could go to the left or right end. Every time I wanted to shoot, everybody was already aiming at where I was even though they had no chance to know on which side I would appear. - Shots sometimes go through objects (e.g. stone) close to their „borders“. - Why have snipers in the game when enemies with normal pistols can reliably hit you over several hundreds of meters? - The companions during fights are either in your way (e.g. sometimes could not climb up because he/she was standing there) or just distracting. They could be on your right but would they handle any enemies coming from that direction? Of course not.. In any case they are rather useless at shooting. It would have been so much more useful if you could give them orders. - Enemies obviously have unlimited ammunition. Still, when you pick up a gun it is almost empty. It forces you out of cover (where you die extremely quickly) exactly like these too many over accurately thrown grenades. Why did they introduce a throwback mechanic in 3 just to take it out again in 4? They lie around for so long before exploding that it does not make sense that you cannot throw them away. - The controls often react badly. Most of all taking cover and rolling on the same button leads to Nate doing exactly the opposite of what you want to do. I am not a very skillful player. Nevertheless, I managed to beat all Uncharted games on crushing. However, 4 was the only one that did not feel challenging in a fun way but unfair, annoying and demotivating instead. Still, I love to play it on lower difficulties.

Yeah, the controls for rolling/cover and the camera orientation requirements for jumping and climbing really get in the way sometimes. Nate will just hang there like a ragdoll if you don't point your camera a certain way. Should be the movement control that determines which way he jumps, not the camera.

@@Hamza-jb4mg I'm currently playing this on Crushing I'm 94% complete with it. This level was the hardest one by far. I was stuck there for a day. I know what Crushing looks like. I've Platinum'd 1-3. This is not Crushing. Sorry and I'm not trying to be mean. Just being honest.

Sina Noorzai There are two snipers on Crushing, you can see their laser targeting. Also the Hunter enemy type (as seen at 1:45 )only appears on Crushing difficulty.

Probably crushing after, a 1st play through,,no grandes small amount of amo,, once 2 kil snipers the runners come in in 2nds,,i dont think its crushing on 1st play through,,i cheered in chapter 18,this one ruins it, they throw grandes everywhere, come from back & sides, il beat it, just hope dost take much longer, agree 100% with you, completely different lay out,,even the wooden boxes get blown away in a minute, so you have 5 to take out, 3 with helmets on,, they took the fyn out of it, way 2 hard,
