I really liked how they updated Drake's model to Uncharted 2's multiplayer model. Wise choice Blue-point. Also, good one on changing the cover animation.

+Gamesworld i actually make games and the changes are pretty good. they switched the lighting for the better, retexture shit. from what i saw they changed some of the animations of when hes ducking cover. plus they did that for 2 other games. thats a shit load to do in their defense.

The remastered version looks smoother and crisp for sure. I just like how the colors on the original version are more vibrant but just changing the tv settings should fix it.

Currently playing this on PS4. The visuals are STUNNING. I had to stop at certain points (5:35) just to look at the view. The graphics on the stairs and walls look amazing. Reminded me of AC: Black Flag's graphics.

Have to say there was a few places where the ps3 version looked nicer to me. I thought the texturing job on the u-boat was a bit nicer and had more variation to it, the shader on the ps4 version had a bit more gloss in the moss areas but looks like the removed a lot of the barnicles and growth and replaced it with more rust. Over all, not something that would make me wanna repurchase the game if i already owned it.

I love the remaster job they did. There is however one thing I noticed: some animation performance don’t look quite as good when it’s more context specific areas like closed rooms with linear animations. You notice he looks like he’s sliding a bit. Some animations do look better with lower frame rate I guess?

+Will891410 It's the overall atmosphere that is completely gone in the PS4 version. Lighting and textures seem flat. Particle/smoke/mist effects are completely missing in some places. And finally 60 FPS makes it look like a videogame rather than a movie, which doesn't help either. The imagequality is much better on paper, but in practice it looks ridiculous and weird.

PS3 version looks much better than PS4 remaster.Colors are vivid and much brighter, while on the other hand,remaster version is much more darker and somehow blurred, but it have little bit,but not by much,more detailed faces and textures.

Definitely PS4. PS3: Capped 30 fps PS4: Capped 60 fps PS3: Almost no anti-aliasing PS4: High anti-aliasing PS3: Low texture quality PS4: High texture quality PS3: Too saturated PS4: Perfect color. PS3 is over saturated, and PS4 actually has more color.

+Jonathan Cordoba fixing it will only mean it would look even better on the ps3 version if we "Fixed" it. If ppl think it looks better on ps3 and if fixing it is the solution, Than ppl will just fix the ps3 version making it even better than a fixed ps4 version. Because it already looked better even without being fixed.

So the differences I've noticed are; explosions have been downgraded and look cheaper, the colour is a bit washed out, brightness has been reduced, shadows have been downgraded in some areas and upgraded in others, environmental details (like grass) has been reduced in some areas and improved in others, less wind blowing said grass, textures in some areas have been downgraded and upgraded in others, character models have been improved and render less shiny (but everyone looks like they have really bad cataracts in some scenes), somewhat better draw distance, better AA, and better performance. All in all, it seems like a mixed bag.

fair assessment, I find anytime I go into a room that's not lit up I have to ramp the contrast up to be able to see things. I'm dreading the Nazi bit.

+NoToeLong I agree, The remastered version has less natural light. Like in the jungle it's a lot less beautiful. Resolution and some textures have improved but the colour is not as striking which I find odd for a remastered version. You would think they would try to keep it as bright as possible. It almost looks greyed out in comparison. I think I might even just prefer the original ps3 version because of this. However, my ps3 controller is broken and the 60 frames is very noticeable and better so I might get the remastered because of that.

to me Ps4 edition of uncharted is not good well Ps4 crashed when something Ps3 is good running the game not the ps4 pro is thinks it crashed i have to start over on ps4 corrupt data nice why of restarting people sony I did not have to start all over remember black ops 4 is was a moblie edition for ps4 / xbox one

Ps5 likely going to have no game drive Sony cares about HDR running on ps4 pro i3 i5 or i7 is not compilable with linux they have installed and made by stealing linux and changed it to look like a system to run on ps4 Ps4 Ps4 Slim Ps4 Pro sadly they all the same only ps4 pro have boost mode

When I got the uncharted drakes collection I realized the graphics got way better and the mechanics changed from drakes fortune to drakes deception, it was really cool being able to play it again. I recently got a thief’s end and it was amazing.

I never played any of the games......... but today.... with all my christmas giftcards, I was able to still snag the PS4 Uncharted 4 bundle at the holiday sale price! Did a bit of searching, but I did find one of the last copies of Uncharted ND Collection too at another place in my city! Pretty stoked to sit down and play the series on my new 55" Samsung with 7.1 surround sound! Oh the joys of being an adult who wants to spend his money his way.

I'm having mixed feelings about the treatment of the sun. Everything else is way better, but midday sun illuminates the ground and is blinding. It just isn't as bright in the remaster and looks less like a force of nature. It's odd. Something they most likely had to do because of limitations just worked so well artistically.

First uncharted had TERRIBLE animations for enemies, gunshot to the chest? Stop and vawe hands, sniper bullet on a hand? Do a backflip and land on face

Stunning differences, sharper picture too, not to say the PS3 version didn't look good already. A few issues though: 0:45 Nate looks like he went blind in that shot. 1:34 The explosions don't look as spectacular.

In that regard i would say the best balance of graphics and innovation was PS2. And technical wise some games didnt have to envy anything to PS3, just tell that to GT4 and its 1080i of resolution, lol.

I'm not sure about the shadows/lightning... seems to be missing at times, But it's great, that they toned down saturation, made the textures high resolution and that the games run so amazingly smooth now.

I just bought The Nathan Drake Collection, A Thief's End and Lost Legacy from Smyth's toys as part of a "3 for £30" deal. Which is technically five, because TNDC comes with three games. So this gives me the perfect opportunity to finally play this series. And holy shit, I'm already impressed over the remaster. Naughty Dog truly are incredible.

The PS3 version looks crisper and more colorful. The PS4 version seems like they toned down the color and did some AA which makes things look more blurry. I would honestly go with the PS3 version.

Agree, some textures look better though, like his beard. But the PS4 lighting dosent seem to add much, esp when the color itself loke more dull as you say. The biggest improvment, if any is the 60 fps. I owned both PS3 & now PS4 Pro & im wondering why they cant offer 4K, i supose its coz the old game would need to swap all its textures & thatd be a bunch of rework, also they probably want their 60 fps... Im guessing the only reason they make remasters is to sell it to new customers & hardcore fans.

I've recently been playing through the remastered collection and often found myself thinking about how well it's held-up over the years, but after watching this comparison I have to admit, I think I prefer the brighter original more cartoony look to the graphics...Maybe it's just me, but I think I like the look of PS3 graphics better in the comparison. The upgrade provides more detail, especially in faces and explosions, but I still prefer the old look -Am I alone in this?

Glad I looked for this video. I beat Uncharted a long time ago, but I never owned it, and only played it that one time. I recently bought the Uncharted Collection after I beat Uncharted 4, to go down memory lane for one of my favorite video game franchises. I thought it looked really weird when I started playing it, and I wondered if my memory was playing tricks on me about how good the game looked. Turns out, it was. The remaster does look really good in comparison to the original. The textures and lighting look more realistic, and even the little details like Nathan's stubble in his close ups which are non existent in the PS3 version. Good remaster.

what did prolly did was switch to a more realistic lighting system. if u also notice that ps3 is super contrasted (cutscene where drake and sully are talking about the Uboat) which, along with super saturated colors, is not realistic at all. i agree though in certain scenes like where theyre in the jungle, the bright green looks good hahah. but they did this for the better

The ps3 doesn’t have more colours, it’s just super-saturated. But what also makes PS4 better is the capped 60fps. PS3 is only capped at 30fps.

+JustSueMe The main deal seems to be the lighting system. The lighting system was shitty on PS3. The PS4 version may look muted, but it's actually a massive improvement. The biggest improvement actually.

Definitely PS4. PS3: Capped 30 fps PS4: Capped 60 fps PS3: Almost no anti-aliasing PS4: High anti-aliasing PS3: Low texture quality PS4: High texture quality PS3: Too saturated PS4: Perfect color. PS4 has higher resolution textures, and has TONS more anti-aliasing.
