Hi Carl, I believe there is a shut off valve just under the tank. If you remove that valve, which screws into the tank you can drain the fuel there. I would suggest if you could actually take the tank off it would be better so you could clean the tank. Thank you for your question, and dont hesitate to get back in touch if you need more help. @@unclejohn3005 What are the symptoms of air in the lines? This all started when I drained the last three gallons of diesel out of the 55 gallon drum that I use to store fuel. Not more than 10 minutes after I added that fuel the tractor started missing and died. I drained the sediment bowl, removed the filter and turned upside down for a few minutes then reassembled. I used the lift lever to fill the sediment bowl. I cranked the tractor a bit and it fired right up ran smooth for about another 10 minutes started missing and died again . I put in a bottle of diesel treatment that's supposed to help with water in fuel and I drained about 10 oz in a glass jar and left it sit for an hour. No visible water separation in the fuel tank so I installed a new fuel filter and gaskets thinking the old filter was ruined but the new filter does the exact same thing. I will drain the tank if I have to but I hate to waste the nearly 7 gallons of fuel in there only to find out I have air in my lines.

@@jfischer555 Yes I drained the tank and found the screen pretty much completely blocked by debris. I flushed it off with diesel, refilled with fresh fuel and all is well!

We did not have to this time, but yes usually you do have to bleed the air out of system. We got lucky
