Buttered popcorn is an S-tier jelly belly flavor. That being said, I still wouldn't eat more than 5 or 6. And banana laffy taffy _is_ good. Its like cilantro. You taste soap or you don't. And laffy taffy's banana chemical was formulated to reconfigure the tastebuds of anyone under 8. If you had it as a kid, you still like it. If you didn't, and try it after age 8, its a hard "nah." For those of us that had it, like me, banana is the only flavor of laffy taffy we f with. Its not S tier. Like.... its no pink starburst. But its at least a red or orange. Don't compare it to the yellow ones. I'm convinced the people who like those drink Lemon Pledge.

Banana flavoring doesn't taste like banana, but it did - it was made to match a species of banana that is now extinct. We selected for bananas to eat and grow worldwide that were big, resistant to parasites, etc, but they tasted different. Now banana flavor is the only remnant of OG bananas

This is only mostly true! The bananas were called "Gros Michel", and they're not actually extinct! You can still get them from small scale growers, because they're still vulnerable to the same fungus that nearly made them extinct the first time, so extra care has to be taken in growing them. They're incredibly expensive.

I heard there’s a flavor of grape in Asia somewhere that matches the artificial grape flavoring we taste in candies and flavored water for example. But it doesn’t taste like the grapes we eat here in the US. Still wonder if that’s true
