I despise those guys at the range with brakes and no suppressor. I’m reminded of Clint Smith: “muzzle brakes reduce the awesome recoil of the 5.56 cartridge” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Buy the best you can afford, *but know where to find value.* Fancy buffer tube & parts kits? Nah, fam - spend those dollars on ammo and training. Geissele trigger? Only if you've got an extra $200 to burn. Buy LaRue MBT2S or ALG/Schmidt single stage. Put those ducats toward an optic. Muzzle device? Suppressor mount for your suppressor. Otherwise keep the A2, it's actually really good at hiding flash.

Hell yes! Having built several AR platform rifles I have learned most of those lessons the hard way. When I first started and heard people talking Geissele triggers this and that I didn't buy into it, I mean a trigger is a trigger right? Then I put one in that I got on sale and holy mother of Eugene Stoner did I become a believer, I absolutely love the SSA and SSA-E triggers. My first builds were done on the cheep which in all honesty I don't really regret because it allowed me to play around and screw up and figure out what is really important. The thing I have found out the most is you have to have a clear idea about what you are trying to build and get out of the build so that you can know what you need to get the first time. Also if you can have a long time line you can find some smoking sales if you just wait around. As always great video, thank you so much for all the great content.

Geissele is my favorite too ssa-e, I'm a 2 stage guy across the board but on a cqb/home gun I tried the geissele SSP single stage, I absolutely love it, only on that but it's just what the dr ordered for quick close up work

Love Aero's trigger guard that comes w/a screw versus a roll pin - nothing will get me saying 4 letter words more than trying to drive a trigger guard roll pin in.

Manufactures have got 4150 Nitride Barrels down so well its hard to find a bad one. Microbest Phosphate or Chrome is the way to go for a BCG. There has been some testing by the military for DLC coted bolts, and so far, its becoming pretty favorable.

I know someone who bought a aero precision lower and a bcm upper and Mated the 2 together. He also stuck a bcm spring and BCM H buffer. He also checked that his rifle's lower was Within spec after he bought it. I would argue his Rifle has the exact same if not even better reliability than a factory BCM gun.

Hey brotha, got an update on the Ruger Readydot non-powered red dot. Actually works very well in conjunction w suppressor height sights. Lines up perfectly w those. So, if no ambient light, you've the night sights for sighting. Would I replace my other Trijicon or Holosun red dots - no. If I was on a budget and needed a sub $100 dot and I had night sights already - it'll do the job. Not gonna win any long distance marksmanship contests w/it, but for up close and dirty, it'll get you on target quick.

As always chocked full of good info! The only place I disagree with you is on the trigger,that is 2stage vs single stage! For home defense, close and dirty work on 2 legged critters in Particular I prefer single stage . I don't need to have my finger on the trigger staging in a super high stress situation! I train more than most! Most don't really train at All!! If were being truthful!! 2 pound trigger pull isn't very much with adrenaline flowing at max capacity! Just saying. Really enjoy your channel Unc. Look forward to seeing your next installment.

So aero is a suspect company? I bought into the Clint smith James reeves promos! 🤣I like my aero upper on a standard PSA lowe, but I’ve never really had anything that was high quality except my geissele super 42 buffer spring.

I've witnessed pins super loose in a dpms, i switched out the trigger for a nickel boron trigger from a saint. Used the exact same pins, but with the new trigger and hammer. That slop was gone. I didn't expect that at all. I thought the slop was from the receiver.

My muzzle break is loud for the shooter. But I'm deaf in my right ear due to a 1911 being discharged 6" from when I was 15, now 61 so I've learned to live with it. But my grandson who is just starting out I built.his ar with a birdcage to push the blast foward. I guess I got really lucky or just made my 80% jig well to match mil.specs. my nickel boron 2 stage is crisp, I also polished the crap out of all contact points. Great vid and I'll have to catch up on the others. Been off line for a while. Stay safe out there too.

I’ve been using the 2a armament balios receivers on my last couple of builds. So far they seem to be pretty damn good. And always a rock river 2 stage varmint trigger. Strike industries lower parts. Vltor buffer tube assembly or bcm, faxon barrels, bcm or aero handguards magpul sl stock. Plenty good ambi charging handles. I’ve never really found a bad one. Bcm or rosco bolts but I’ve used faxon and even Anderson in the past with no problems.

This video is slightly misleading. While buying quality brand parts DECREASES the chance of getting one out of spec it does NOT eliminate it. Proper gauging and inspection are required always.

Interesting I didn't know Nickel boron is like that. I have a question why would it be a problem to use a muzzle brake 556 ? Even though all you have to do is wear electronic ear pro, I understand being in a very tight close space would suck. Some of us live in certain areas sadly where we can on have muzzle brakes.
@tiddybopper
@tiddybopper 6 ай бұрын
For range fun or HD, a brake is probably fine. In a minuteman scenario you want to reduce your signature as much as you can, hence the flash hider or preferably a can

When you talk about having a spare BCG, how important is it to check the headspace, like on a PSA upper for instance?can I just buy one of those chrome BCGs and put it in or should I have a gunsmith check it. How interchangeable are they? Thanks.

As for the carrier coatings comment idk why you put np3 with nickle boron considering they are not the same at all. Also this whole video is mildy misleading. While staying with good quality proven names such as BCM or Sons of Liberty severely decreases your chances of getting a bad part, it does not eliminate it. Proper gauging and inspection are required always.
