Best crossover song to peak in the 2010's. Reached #6 on the Billboard country singles chart in the late summer of 2010. Should have been a #1 country and pop Hot 100 that year for Uncle Kracker. "Smile" is a timeless classic.

i know this a “love” song, but when i was little, like 5 or 6, my dad used to play this song when he would chase me around the house laughing. they were such a good memories that now, as i’m older, it makes me cry. my parents have been divorced since i was 11, so from then, i would only see him every other weekend and we just aren’t close anymore. so now the memories of us being so happy and being so close with each other makes me sad reminiscing :(

This is my husband and my song. We were over 3000 miles apart when we met online. From best friends and inside jokes to husband and wife, and going on three years married and laughing with each other every day. We have survived the death of my mum, financial hardship, and becoming a beautifully blended family. When life gets too hard, one of us sends the other the link to this song, and it brings us back to where we can smile and make it through some of the hardest challenges a couple can face, stronger and more trusting than before. Thank you Uncle Kracker for writing, recording and sharing this song with us. Thank you for giving us something to bring us back when happiness seems impossible to see.

[Verse 1] You're better than the best I'm lucky just to linger in your light Cooler than the flip-side of my pillow, that's right Completely unaware Nothing can compare to where you send me It lets me know that it's okay (Yeah, it's okay) And the moments when my good times start to fade [Chorus] You make me smile like the sun Fall outta bed Sing like a bird Dizzy in my head Spin like a record Crazy on a Sunday night You make me dance like a fool Forget how to breathe Shine like gold Buzz like a bee Just the thought of you can drive me wild Oh, you make me smile [Verse 2] Even when you're gone Somehow you come along Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack And just like that You steal away the rain And just like that [Chorus] You make me smile like the sun Fall outta bed Sing like a bird Dizzy in my head Spin like a record Crazy on a Sunday night You make me dance like a fool Forget how to breathe Shine like gold Buzz like a bee Just the thought of you can drive me wild Oh, you make me smile [Bridge] Don't know how I live without you Cause every time that I get around you I see the best of me inside your eyes You make me smile [Pre-Chorus] You make me dance like a fool Forget how to breathe Shine like gold Buzz like a bee Just the thought of you can drive me wild Oh, you make me smile [Chorus] You make me smile like the sun Fall outta bed Sing like a bird Dizzy in my head Spin like a record Crazy on a Sunday night You make me dance like a fool Forget how to breathe Shine like gold Buzz like a bee Just the thought of you can drive me wild Oh, you make me smile

I remember my grandfather being in a nursing home. Thankfully he never forgot who we were (the people that actually visited him) but he would forget how many times we would visit. Each time I was visiting, he'd ask me to ask my dad and uncle, his sons, to visit him, as well as his second wife. But my dad and uncle visited him almost every single day. Second wife acted like she didn't give a single sht about him. Yeah, she had autoimmune issues... but if you truly loved someone, wouldn't you risk it? I certainly would.

His music makes each day a little easier. I became a widow quite unexpectedly and letting go has been near to impossible. But your songs do make me smile, so thank you. A widow at 50 just isn't right .

Im soo very sorry for your loss, and yes to be a widow at 50 is very young; but as they say the good Lord always takes the best ones first.... i pray that the Lord gives you much comfort and strength during this very difficult time in your life. And just know that your husband is always watching over you. God bless you ❤❤❤🕊🕊
