Quality ingredients are not cheap when you include them at the levels that make a big difference, in fact the price of raw ingredients continues to rise. In this episode we delve into the ingredients used to make our bait, including the cost of them but more importantly why we include them the range of baits we make. Not all baits are equal but we hope our transparent insight into what we do will help you choose the right bait for you. Welcome to another behind the scenes at Baitworks HQ. Enjoy.

Anyone who’s tried baitmaking for awhile will notice the quality gone into this. I can’t compete using these ingredients and time. Makes sense to buy from Mark… lol. His bait is admirable! All the best guys!

The nice thing about Mark and Baitworks, He does not bang on every week about stuff (even tho he could) Yet you get others that go on and on and on. And what Mark says is honest and all makes sense. Very well done lads!

Mark im sure is well aware of this but to others curious of that ‘other something’ regarding the milk proteins, other than the protein content the second biggest lure will be the opioid within it called casomorphines which becomes addictive to the fish and proceeds to make the seek it again and again not on just a nutritional value basis but as an opioid, almost like a drug, a very interesting topic.

I'll admit I make my own bait and have on and off since the 80's , at 52 now it's a nad' ache making it but I can't not do it for fear I don't know what I'm buying within the bait. Mark is well respected and I know the bait is great compared to what you could buy with a shadow of the products Baitworks use. Mark's a grafter and he really knows his stuff , you can feel the passion in his videos and I'd gladly use the bait instead of my own rolled baits . Great video guys , real in depth dive into some of the quality products you use and folk HOPE others use ,but do they ? Steve M

The reason I started using Baitworks was because of an interview I saw Mark give a couple of years ago. It was clear from the outset that he’s proud of his mixes and he actually cares about what goes into them. His research and testing astounded me tbh. I totally trust Baitworks now and I know I’m using a bait that’s second to none 💪🏼

Loved this. Was massively into my bait making back in the late 80's/early 90's and totally convinced that quality milk proteins play a huge part in a proper fishmeal bait. Nice one X

I love when Mark's on camera, I always learn something new when it comes to bait making. I only buy from companies like Baitworks that have no issue in showing what ingredients and quality goes into their baits/brand.

Interesting stuff particularly the stuff about Milk Proteins. As more companies move away from or discontinue Milk Protein base mixes would Baitworks consider formulating an out and out Milk Protein bait or base mix?

How much crude ash do you use what %
@frotheydave3868
@frotheydave3868 4 ай бұрын
You don’t use crude ash, it’s a by product of the drying process of the ingredient. Low temp fishmeals have less ash and so more of the good stuff.

@frotheydave3868 yeah I know I seen it says 10% ash but I do see crude ash in so many other big name baits mainline is 2.5% for cell and I think its near 20% in nash scopex squid I see why bait has got worse since the 90s now

@frotheydave3868 4 ай бұрын
@@aarondavies8486it was in baits back then, it’s just they didn’t have to list the ingredients. Like I said - they aren’t adding ash as an ingredient, it’s contained within the meals they and all manufacturers use. But something like provimi will have more of it in than cpsp90, for example

I wonder why they don't use steam to prepare the boilies... No big bait company boils the bait nowadays... When you boil in water, you lose a lot of "attraction" from the bait, when you steam you don't....
@frotheydave3868
@frotheydave3868 4 ай бұрын
Steam is at 100deg, because of the makeup of the bait/gelling products Baitworks simmer at about 80deg, so there’s less denaturing anyway. Middle of the bait is probably half that……
@TiberiusWorld
@TiberiusWorld 4 ай бұрын
@frotheydave3868 i do understand and not saying it's a bad thing, just saying that i think steaming is better in my opinion... My country of origin is Romania, we use a lot of soluble boilies, and find out that steaming is better than boiling.. I used to roll my own bait, but since Nutrabaits started to do the "solubals" i give itna try and work.. Good idea for Baitworks maybe to produce the atlantic heat soluble boilies? I find them superior in short sessions to normal boilies...

Then along comes a company like parker baits made in a shead and same price as mainline no idea of there ingredients or whats in them just thrown together and is an insult to these guys who are putting in the hard work

What an absolutely ridiculous comment. Parker Baits make a quality Boilie. Suggest you take a look at Mainline ingredients, more marketing than ingredients! Mainline should be half the price they charge (it’s absolute trash)
