We recently spent time with the Mentawai Tribe, and wanted to see what else this island had to offer. We saw the jungles, now we were ready to see the beaches and islands.

We hired a boat out for the day and explored the beaches, lagoons and islands around Sipora, and then hired a bike out the following day to see Sipora itself. Both days were incredible as we had the most amazing and beautiful places all to ourselves. The Mentawai Islands really are a hidden gem in Indonesia, where you can explore all kinds of incredible places in private.
The Mentawai Islands are a beautiful part of Indonesia just off the coast of West Sumatra. They are full of dense jungle packed with unique and wonderful wildlife. They are also home to some of the best beaches and surfing in the world! There aren't many places where you can find both of those things...which is what makes these islands so unique and amazing.
