I worked on the remodel of the original federal reserve in Cincinnati that’s was turned into the renaissance on 5th and vine. There’s a huge vault in the basement with a glass display of the lock mechanism of the vault door that should be displayed when it was originally built in the late 1800s. There was also a second safe on the second floor if I remember correctly. Worth checking out and isn’t talked about much. We pulled newspaper from the walls that were from the 1910s that were used as insulation on the addition.

Schmidlapp was a Jewish man with a real acumen about social equality. Whenever I hear folks being hateful and antisemitic, i wonder how many people alive today are even aware of the Jewish contribution. Jews also marched in the Civil Rights protests.

Did those families recieve any compensation for leaving their homes?
