i wanted to play assassination rogue this whole time, but my rogue is still 59. toc will be the perfect catchup raid, i really could just reinvent myself and play 3-4 dps for fun. not sure if its worth jumping in this late though

Assassination does not play like classic/tbc rogue what so ever it’s a complete departure of what rogue has been. Its literally a Malygos rotation with feint/energy pooling thrown in. Play combat and enjoy the class how it’s supposed to be

@@Whydyoudothis Assassination in Classic was harder? I always assumed it was a 2 button rotation, but never played. Would like to consider it for som 2 because I want to play deathless and warrior seems too risky at 60

@NOHITJEROME I do believe they will change some more things and I believe Infernal is one of those things. It's just odd to me they didn't do it at the same time as elementals, but when affli loses its 1st place I think there will be no reason not to do it.

@@gnke i honestly think they drag out changes to get people to talk about them and appreciate them more. shamans were literally doing wargames to reset fire ele lol. i think they like getting people going (its not so bad, at least you have something to look forward to :D )

I don't think so, a good fire mage is already surpassing affli locks atm, just imagine with this stat scaling that's going to happen on next phases

another 30-40 days until phase 3. ptr in a few weeks i assume. weird thing would be if SOM 2 comes out around this time too. might factor into blizzards plans. i know i'd definitely want to play that too

that's something i wasn't considering, I don't know enough about enhance to give fair rankings on it. wish I could put enh in a separate unknown category. it's like feral druid to me, can't accurately rank it without playing it

@@NOHITJEROME meh its just spell enha copium and wish list, we dont have that kind of weapon since wraith strike, which has been massive both p1, p2, aftet it we can’t sync weapons and with that there is no lightning bolt weaving (difference between good enh and 90th percentile upwards) as such my post is more of a lament until terenas hc mace where we might be back as low A/top B tier by my recollection

That's partially correct. Syncing is still possible because you use the fast caster weapons at the start of the fight to boost spell power to pop Fire Ele about 8 seconds into the fight after procs are rolling. After he is out, you weapon-swap to a physical weapon and use Windfury as it scales better with the physical stats we're now getting/going to get.

But I'm much more appreciative of sims lately, WOTLK gearing is too samey (not a bad thing, but it's the reality) and it's hard to figure out what items are actually upgrades without sims

@@NOHITJEROME True that. Say, what is your opinion on spellhancing as a shaman enhancer? Most of the guides/youtubers handle it like some funny balance fluctuation in phase 1 but I actually think t's the way to go to play an enhance shaman. I have GS 4700, an ilvl 226 Mainhand and 238 offhand, both physical and in sync. But for me, when I switch to my healing mace (ilvl 226 speed way higher, so not in sync anymore) and switch to flametongue glyph it jumps up in single target dps. I somehow get the feeling it's a secret to the enhance shaman that has only been unlocked this time around and actually represents the true way to play this specc...

it shouldn't be, but we need more good ferals back. lot of them rerolled to other specs. feral does have the ability to quick jump in and offtank and that's very valuable, plus brez/innervate. but raw dps is lacking right now

Hi Vinny, I agree that the averages are skewed because players that want to do the highest DPS are playing warlocks and DKs and rogues right now. From my estimates all the fights other than Jarraxus in P3 are between 4-6 minutes, I assumed the long-ish fights would cause some problems. I'm willing to be wrong, I do believe you will find groups no problem either way. One interesting stat I was thinking about related to Shamans: 2 hour Ulduar raid (example) - 14 bosses. Lust = 40 seconds per boss = 9.3 minutes out of 2 hours. 8% uptime ToC total time fighting = 22 minutes (no trash whatsoever). Lust = 40 seconds per boss = 4 minutes out of 22 minutes. 18% uptime Basically, no trash = huge benefit to Shamans. Your effective lust time (ELT lol) is more than double.

@@NOHITJEROME hahaha I'm definitely using "ELT" in future conversations, that's awesome! XD yeah the longer fight times might become an issue for some we'll see, a few royal twilight opal's (or the epic version) can cure that until the gear catches up if there's mana issues. I haven't struggled with mana on most fights, even vezax, I am always top meters and we aren't the sweatiest guild or whatever, but we have a bunch of pumpers. I'm curious to see though if I feel like I can't keep up ever in this expansion. Because when wotlk was starting, everyone said ele shams were going to struggle, but that hasn't been the case and in TBC, they said Ele shams start off great, but they suck by the end because they don't "scale as well", but that wasn't the case either. I kinda feel like the DPS classes are all pretty balanced, and each has it's niche "time to shine", ele shams included. =)

@@vgullotta everyone is definitely (until ICC endgame) balanced, i think it comes down to who is putting the effort/research in. for example, i play disc priest and routinely underperform compared to worse healers. that's because i hadn't been putting in the full effort and was going through the motions. now i'm trying much harder to research and maximize my class and the improvement is instant. ultimately the balance is good enough that the person who puts in the most effort is rewarded and i like that.

@@NOHITJEROME yeah very true, and because some classes/specs are considered meta or S tier or whatever we're calling them this week, the others don't necessarily get the research needed to really show their true potential because they just don't sound as juicy

@@vgullotta that's a great point - there's some recent tech I still need to look into related to things like find fish for enhance shaman, all sorts of weird bugs/exploits/ways to increase damage on all classes. one thing i've noticed is that the quality of discords varies wildly - priest discord is insane (or was when i used to go there) whereas the druid discord was lacking by comparison. fight club was huge in classic, not every class had an equivalent

@@NOHITJEROME the 2 set is almost as powerful as the 4set of t10 so you run 2pc 2pc while you're gearing up in the icc phase

@@NOHITJEROME what do you think about going as RET with 2 set RET and 2 set (reduced cd on Hands of Reckoning by 2 sec) PROT? I think they will change 2 set PROT to not be usable by Ret somehow, but who knows :D

boomie has all the nice wipe recovery and utiltiy but their dps is roooough. at least mine is. i do see top 6 boomkins sometimes but it's not likely

not sure how that happened, but mm will be much better. i will deep dive on the numbers at some point but my understanding is mm scales well

would like to see more specs buffed/changed to be more viable. it's the part of original classic/tbc/wrath we are missing - patch by patch buffs would make the game feel very fresh and alive

@@NOHITJEROME i agree. One of the main reasons people rolled Hunter is that originally MM took over in ToC, but with modern advances in gameplay SV is now simming as meta all through ICC. Buffing certain specs will prevent burnout in a lot of players, which in turn leads to more money for blizz.

@@ShrEddie3 In the old DPS rankings, blood was ranked really low. But that was because the data counted tanks as well. Not sure if the new DPS rankings can filter dps/tanks, would be curious to see the avg blood dps parse lately

I respect the utility, ToC is a challenge running raid where you want to wipe 0 times. Brez, innervate are so key to me. I just play boomkin (albeit poorly, and only sometimes) and have low hopes for the scaling. Coupled with there being no trash in ToC makes the overall parses a lot lower. Yes you will pump on fights like anubarak and yes I'd rather have 4 druids than 1-2. Nothing better than losing 5 people to stupid mechanics and then being able to brez and ankh 5 times :D

all tier lists end up weighted towards the top unfortunately especially in wrath. everything seems viable. ret buff helped a lot and the upcoming tier set is disgustingly good

@@NOHITJEROME the upcoming tier got Ret is not that good 😂. The one in icc is. Tier 9 is meh. So not expecting Ret to be any higher than b tier.

They deserve no love. If you play blood as dps you are purposefully hurting your raids dps and utility.

they bring so much to the raid at this point, toc is mostly about wipeless/deathless runs. fury does more pure dps but unfortunately the game is way more layered than just raw dps.

its just how it will be, i play boomkin and i will be playing fury. no trash in toc, fights are not going to be good for boomkin. look at algalon parses from boomkins, they are a disaster. all we will do in toc is bosses + algalon in ulduar

@@designercaolho it doesnt change boomkin from being one of (maybe the #1) most fun spec. still very useful too since you can always dual spec to heal, always great for 10mans..its not like they are dead. but fury with big armor pen will be disgusting

You snapshot crit for swp not haste. You want to pop your fiend pre lust, though, so it gets lusted for more damage.
