Sarfarosh was the first film which changed the industry forever. Very different and script was the boss. That time it felt the best combination of commercial and realistic cinema. Kya film thi. Even that realistic police chase when Salim is chasing Sultan. That Kheda naaka scene. That Mumbai street chasing of Aamir behind the gunda, pushing him first and then catching him. That Govind Namdev scene of Verrappan style attack first scene and then whole team of Aamir’s policewallahs and their outings at that village and Kheda naaka. The flashback story of college days. Mirchi Seth. Sari Kundali hai mere paas. That goat scene. That Rajasthan set. Everything was unique and pathbreaking. And 15 sec role but I always remembered that person till 8 years later until I saw him back in Munnabhai, Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui. That police station scene.Never thought somebody could act like him. And Aamir saying kaan ke 2 inch paas se goli maarna. That fatka guy. Aasmaan mein lakhon taare. Yes and my favourite song was Jo haal dil ka.

Was, Is and Will remain greatest movie of Aamir.... Also one of the top three Bollywood movies. In 90s who had thought that in just 2&half hour of cinema stories and characters from Pakistan-Bahid-Rajasthan-New Delhi-Mumbai-Chandarpur will all be connected & blended so well. Even today's multiple seasons of web series can't pull it like sarfarosh did. John did it then. Content & story the king. Characters BalaThakur, Sultan, Saleem, Mirchi Seth, Veeran, ACP Rathore, Gulfam Hassan, Seema and even Maala are living in real cinema lover's heart and mind for 25 years & beyond. Sorry to say but there can only be one SARFAROSH. Neither can remake, nor can be extended.

Just watched it yesterday yet again

i am not a film buff and i definitely watch some good movies but there is hardly any movie which i might have watched countless number of times and that film is sarfarosh. That last dialogue between aamir and naseer when aamir says - jo hua us waqt woh ghalat hua - jo hona nahi chahiye tha . aaj bhi hum haadse ko bade hi dukh ke saath yaad karte hain aur us se ubharna chahte hain tum un ghavon ko phir se hara karte ho. There were many more powerful and simple but effective lines as well - who ever wrote the dialogues were so apt and relevant yet straight to the heart. Lyrics were too good including the bar song specially the meanings and the message conveying. Every aspect of that film was just awesome.

Vallabh Vyas had played diplomat in the film, sadly he suffered and died like a poor man after a sickness and was paralysed, Aamir helped his family then, Rajesh Joshi had played Pakya in Rangeela, he passed away a year before the film released, his brother Manoj Joshi also acts in the film as an inspector but they dont share scenes.

aamir aap ne achi baat kahi - yahi mera hamesha se sawaal raha hai zyaadatar police ke roles ko le kar jo heroes karte hain woh chahe koyi bhi ho AB,AD, AK, almost sab ke sab heroes and also include military and soldier roles they have long hair where as all the cops and specially military is very strict with the hair cuts and we were so used to that what we call it as cinematic liberty and just ignore it, chalo entertainment hai is mein kya itni baareekiyaan dhoondna hai hum movie goers hain critics thodi na hain. sometimes those cop and military uniforms, the shoes and the ranks with which they are addressed and the stars and belt and embloms associated with those ranks do not match at all even some times the khaki or military green color is no where close to the real unifom colors.
