On 17 November 1989, Diana, Princess of Wales visited the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), where she accepted the presidency of the prestigious institution. With RADA having produced some of Britain's most widely acclaimed and famous acting talents, it was only fitting that Diana should be hosted by world-renowned actor and director Richard Attenborough as well as the legendary John Gielgud. The transfer of the presidency of RADA from Gielgud to the Princess of Wales was, in fact, the official reason for Diana's visit. And younger talents were also on display, most notably James Dreyfus, who entertained Diana with a funny monologue revising Shapespeare's reputation, and Michael Sheen, today a national treasure.
