Today I take a look at the Teyun A4 USB audio mixer, also known as the TU04. This is a budget mixer that can be found on all sorts of discount sites like AliExpress, Banggood, and even Wish.com.
Not only does this mixer do all of the things you'd expect, but it also acts as a Bluetooth receiver and can record directly to a USB flash drive (though not both at once). You also have flexible power options for this mixer, since not only can you power it from your computer's USB port, but also using either a USB AC adapter or a rechargeable USB power bank. If you use a power bank and flash drive together you can use this mixer as a cheap field recorder.
As for how well this mixer works, you'll just have to watch the video to find out.

I bought this mixer (actually the TU04) a couple of years ago and never did use it... I just stuck it in a drawer. I just got it out today and couldn't really tell how to use it (I am not an audiophile as you can tell), Glad I found your review, it was very helpful. Thanks!

Bought one under the brand Drembo from wish. Purchased the M6, received the M4. Took 6 weeks. They did refund entire amount no questions ask and didn’t have to return it. Great success! One thing that stuck out to me, and correct me if I’m wrong, but everything transferred via usb to pc is mono. Even the 3/4 stereo ch mixes down to one mono track. Tried recording bohemian rhapsody via the rca inputs via usb Into audacity. The JieLi br17 2(stereo) input ch records two identical mono samples. Galileo, Galileo no pan, no separation.

since it has 2 inputs... channel 1 and 2 from the mixer.. can you record this 2 channel into two separate tracks? using stereo panning technique or just a single track for both channels? thanks

Excellent comprehensive review of a product that I ALMOST want to buy and I'm very glad that you used your power bank to power it. This is a feature I wanted to test and you did it for me. Cheers. I'm a busker and want to power my mixer with a power bank instead of the much larger 12V 5ah SLA battery I'm currently using. The killer on this unit is the effects. I play flute and need a decent reverb. Thanks for this review because it really helps me. You're singing to the choir with me and you've won a new subscriber as a result. BTW, the mixer I'm using right now is a wonderful Yamaha MG06x that can be powered by 12v but not USB; it's expensive (for me) and I play outdoors in the Tropics where gear takes a beating. On AliExpress there is a mixer that looks almost identical to the MG06x but isn't. It has digital reverb and is mains powered or USB: $80AUD delivered for me. Have a look! Thanks again.

So quick rundown of my setup. My dynamic microphone is plugged into my A4 mixer, that's powered directly to a surge protector and uses the L and R outputs to connect to my UMC202HD audio interface. The interface plugged into a powered USB hub. No electrical buzz, no hiss, just clean sound and plenty of gain and I can have the audio settings be higher quality again in the PC settings.

Fabulous review. I was totally stuck with "ERR" when I tried to record onto the USB. It's so lame that the product expects at least one music file on the USB drive before you can record onto it!

Thanks heaps for the review. i got the exact same mixer and doing simple recording on one condenser mic + guitar setup. I couldn't get it to do multi-track recording (channel 1 & 2), it seems that its mix down to one mono track into the DAW. Do u know if it is possible to do multi-track recording with this mixer (2 inputs, 2 channels on 2 separate tracks) ?

Thank you so much for this review as I was looking for any information about how to use this mixer. I have ordered Dreambo M6 from Wish, which simillare but with two more XLR, received it after 4 weeks. The user manual is very poor as you have shown , but it came in English. A wall mains to USB american standard supplied with it. The main reason for buying it is that i want to receive calls by my cell phone or Skype calls ( some body advised to loop cables to stop the echo) and insert to my live stream, I have an XLR mic. What is your advise please ?

Great review! Now I feel a little more confident about this mixer (which I just bought last week). Quick question, though. I host a radio-like podcast where I speak and play music from an iPad. Can I plug in my microphone and my iPad and record both of them on a USB stick? (Also, why do you need an audio file to record on a USB stick?)

I'm having issues with the top USB playing back with certain drives. I have one drive that works perfectly with the mixer and one that does not. I've tried leaving the file in a folder and leaving it out of the folder, (on the drive that does work, the music is in a folder) neither have worked. Does a USB drive have to formatted a certain way to work? Otherwise, this mixer works PERFECTLY for me.

I picked this mixer up as it was a good price and the traditional bang for the buck mixers (Beringer 502 USB and Phenyx Pro PTX-10) are $80/$100 respectively. My one complaint is that when I am outputting to my computer, the windows play/pause button is up on the screen and there is nothing I can do about it. Anyone with this mixer finds a workaround for this issue? I'm using it to manage audio for twitch streaming and its really annoying to have that locked to the top left corner while I stream.

I'm impressed with your testing audio. I have a similar one but when i connect my guitar to the interface then interface to PC, it has a constant noise (hum). Your audio is very clean.

hi, some doubts. When the mixer is used as audiocard to a PC... if you have 2 mics connected, ...¿both mics will be recorded mono.. or one goes to L and the second to R?.. Also if you record from the line stereo input,,,,at the pc wil be recorded stereo or mono? thanks for your time.

Finally a real review! Having the same issue with the PC sound, would a simple USB sound card with a mike and headphone 3.5mm female jack cure the problem (you can pick those up here in the uk for 3 to 6 pound sterling) cure the problem or would you suggest a real cheap external card/sound mixer for around the 15 pound sterling mark? Great review Cly. The mixer is very impressive for the price, howevef, it does lack the ability to pan channels 1 & 2 to lleft and right outputs, which is a great shame. Your enthusiasm neearly had me reaching for my cc!

Hi, I have a Mbox2 - I use Banana Voice metter to make the audio sound a bit more radioish broacasitsh .. but then I still have to do post processing in audition or audacity - in audition i use the the multiband compressor, I select the broadcast template. But for podcasts and long audio sessions about 45 mins to an hour ... it's really time consuming - Do think would solve my issue? I wouldn't have to do any post processing if get this? like in your video at 19 : 30

Thank you for this review as I do have these available in the Philippines but no reviews. I'm looking for an affordable sound card for my Macbook for live streaming. Will be plugging instruments like a keyboard and/or acoustic guitar while streaming through the Macbook. What I do want to know is if it can be used on a Macbook? It seems mo problem with PC but not sure if it works with a Macbook. Would it be ok to clarify if this is possible? Again, thank you, and hoping to hear from you soon.

I bought a mixer like this but when connected to the computer the sound gets distorted then clear then distorted again. It works fine if I plug in speakers but once I connect it to my laptop it gets all distorted. Is there any way to fix this? (I tried switching the cable but no luck there)

Great review. Though the monitoring is a letdown since the mixer also records whatever you play on PC (including the metronome). Still fine for a cheap product.

Quick question ; when you put your PC's audio and your mixer's monitoring audio through an additional mixer , do you then plug your headphones into the additional mixer to monitor both audio sources ?

Yep. I plug the headphone out from both my mixer (set to monitor my mic) and my PC into the secondary mixer, and then I plug my headphones into the audio output on the second mixer. I also use a ground loop isolator, since both mixers are being plugged into my PC in some way. Without the isolator between the PC and mixer #2 you'll get a terrible squeal. I've recently upgraded my secondary mixer, so I'll be posting a video on the topic shortly.

Got my eyes on its bigger brother, same brand name - but it's 8 ch (6 mono - 1 stereo) mixer, with built in MP3 player/USB. Looking to use as a basic submixer for live work. Seems like these are just good, no frills mixers that just sit there so the job with no exciting things happening. There's definitely a place in everyone's kit list for that

I'm glad I could be of help. 👍 I try to keep my volume at around -16db, that way it's comfortable to listen to with headphones. It's a habit I picked up while looking into podcasting and doubled down on after watching one too many videos that assaulted my eardrums. 😅
