Under Armour HOVR Machina 3 Review: First run in the newest Under Armour running shoes

The Under Armour HOVR Machina is a shoe that UA says combines "the softness of a cushioned shoe and the springy speed of a racing flat". But the first and second generation shoes have largely failed to impress. The Machina 3 features some upgrades including a softer HOVR midsole foam in the heel working alongside a firmer foam in the forefoot, the men's shoe stack height has dropped a touch and the heel is redesigned to be simpler. However, the third-gen shoe is now marginally heavier than it's predecessor. Though you do still get the smart connected run-tracking sensors that pair with MapMyRun. You're right about the feel. Comparing these to like a 1990's Cadillac is accurate. It's like a couch on wheels, or a foam couch for your feet. I don't hate the machina 2's so far, 100 miles in. The spring in the sole of the 2 DOES give back but I don't know if it's really all that helpful. They're clunky but soft. My toes have plenty of room and my strike is pretty neutral. So my feet don't typically hurt after long runs. They'd be great for a day at an amusement park or a lot of walking and standing around, really comfortable that way.

My true size is 8 but I we don't get uk 8.5 in India so I took 9 size. My foot is slipping a bit

I tired the mechanic 3 yesterday the feel is amazing. Idk why there are mixed reviews here. I tried Skechers, nike and adidas these felt like a beast of a shoe

Seems where last year stuff became mire breathable the trend seems to make hot shoes this year . 🤣 awesome vid mate not gonna pick up this shoe . I do like the rocker shape on these

HOVR machina 2 is the best machina series with standout design and color (black beta/red). feels comfy for runs or walks.

Yeah, I was doing this one a bit before joining up with the others to launch The Run Testers. But have started to do some of my own again. Plan to do a bit more behind the scenes training stuff too.

I have pair of the UA Machina and like others have said they are great to walk in and use in the gym (as long as not running) but feel way too clompy to actually run in….shame as I like the new colours of the Machina 3. Miss for me😢

I find the UA Machina an ok shoe for walking, but very good indeed for a cross-over gym workout + short treadmill run shoe. They are not at all soft and I confirm they really do last!!! I bought mine at 60% off and even at that price I don't recommend it. Plus they look good with my skinny jeans too!! 😁

These are faster for sure. I’d recommend these for all out speed.

I think there are better shoes. But you could run 21k in these if you like them firm.

Make a review after 50 miles or 100 miles... My Machina 2 softened up in the 50 miles...

I like the Velociti Wind, like the connected smart shoe angle but this is still a miss for me.

The HOVR Mega MVMNT is actually better than the Machina but these aren't as firm as Brooks

I think what it comes down to is HOVR is a bust. Every hovr shoe has been a bust because it's too heavy and clumpy. Then the shoes they make like velociti wind that don't have HOVR are great.

Don't buy please don't buy these sneakers I had knee pain I thought my knee was broken luckily I did not throw my old new balance shoes away I'm buying new balance from now on
