I did keto for twenty years and regularly had failure because I cannot moderate. carnivore is so much easier to follow and is more effective for me. Been carnivore for a bit over a year, much healing and one hundred lbs gone.

I am turning 70 soon. This conversation about getting angry at sugar is so right on with me. I made cookies for my 91 year old aunt a couple days ago, and didn't have any licks of batter or samples to 'make sure the cookies were okay to send.'' Feeling so empowered by my willpower for lack of a better word. But you nailed it. A new determination has literally taken over and it feels soooo good. 💖

I'm almost a month into carnivore. I'm doing it because of Autoimmune issues (MS). My biggest problem so far has been eating enough to not lose weight. I have a pretty fast metabolism naturally, and I've lost 5 pounds each week without trying. But I'm already pretty thin, and I want to keep my weight if possible. I'm trying to make myself eat twice a day, but I'm just not hungry enough some days to do that. I do believe my MS symptoms are already improving (it's early though). That's the important thing for me.

Make sure you are consuming enough fat. It is energy dense and helps balance hormonal issues, while being anti-inflammatory. For most, if they are not getting enough fatty meat, they just add butter to their meals. Eggs also have fat. Some have mentioned adding more cheese in order to gain weight.

I am fortunate to be a moderator. I'm also fortunate that I can eat any food and it makes me feel exactly like any other food except parmesan which I'm violently allergic to which is super weird. I avoid processed foods and seed oils like the plague. But if once a month I want a burger with a bun or an ice cream cone I will do that but I never bring the stuff into my house because I know I will eat it. If I stick to an animal-based plan all sorts of nagging issues, some big and some small, are just gone. If anything I struggle with undereating, I'm sitting here right now eating a plate of calamari and shrimp that I cooked up. Really enjoyed this video!

A different Grand Parenting style in our family is that we demonstrate something different for our grandchildren . It is good for a child to see someone they know and love with the ability/strength to say "no" and not follow peers--think for themselves. If we don't demonstrate self-control to our children, who will? Our approach to "child" rearing is; "We are raising an adult; not a child." Children for 14-18 years and adult for another possible 90 years. . .choose the victory; not the individual battles to model for children.

One trick I've learned in order to facilitate eating more calories during the day is to have jumbo shrimp at dinner. TWENTY steamed jumbo shrimp is 48g protein and only 240 calories! (I rarely eat 20 usually 12 but other people seem to be able to eat around 20). Of course alittle melted butter for fat if you need it but I've been using 1/2 t sugarfree ketchup+ a few drops hot sauce+ a 1/2 t of mayo + a squeeze of lemon wedge for "cocktail sauce". Personally, I dont use a lot of sauce, but if you want more just double this recipe 😋 Down 18 lbs in 25 days, already off one blood pressure Rx, Dr. Offered to take me off the other in acouple months if things keep trending this way 👏

Hi ladies, Thanks you for the interview. This was enlightening - especially the info about being an abstainer or otherwise. I for sure know I'm an abstainer. At my age and being ketovore almost 3 years ago and losing 100 lbs and keeping it off I learned the hardest way by ill effects afterwards, it's not worth the cheat. It's too hard on my system. At my age of 66 years old I'd rather pay for quality carnivore/ketovore food than pay the doctor bill. Like your salad splurge I have one of those too. That's a cheat way better than the WHOLE bag of chips or box of mac'n cheese I would have scarfed mindlessly down and fell into a self-inflicted carb coma. I stay on the program through following the carnivore community.

@@salenawaaka6258 - You're almost certainly undereating if you fast 3 days a week. It is highly unlikely to be able to do that in a healthy way. As a genreal rule, extended fasts should only be done a few times a year, unless you have a specific health condition you are seeking to resolve (obesity, cancer, etc). As for OMAD, it's highly dependent on the individual and the conditions of their life. Don't do OMAD if you have high levels of stress and/or physical activity, if you're deficient in sleep and/or relaxation, if you're not getting enough sunlight and/or grounding, if you have a lot of exposure to artifical lights and/or non-native EMFs, if you're feeling sick and/or exhausted. Basically, learn to listen to your body and pay attention to what is going on in your life, along with assessing your environmental conditions. If you feel particularly hungry, tired, or just off, then maybe ensure you get extra nourishment. And do whatever is available to assist in stress reduction, rest, and healing.

My take on fasting is that is incredibly healing and beneficial when done correctly and at the right time (especially for women). Fasting is a stressor so this can be a negative thing for someone who is already in a super stressed state. We have to be careful with too many stressors at once. Under-eating is a huge stressor especially when it’s daily. Your body can only take so much.

l undereat because I have digestion issues. I have to eat small meat/fat meals with Betaine HCL with Pepsin. Also, it took me months to overcome meat aversion & to build up eating more fat. I am trying! Too, I realized that stress affects my digestion. I'd love to eat more because I'm constantly tired. Also, women need to know how to calculate the amount they should be eating daily. (1 do, it's just hard to get there.)

Im about to start carnivore, have been semi low carb for awhile and off all sugar past few weeks. I think I am an undereater but how do I know how many calories I should ideally have as 58 year old 5’3” at 179 pounds with goal to weigh 130.? The thought of eating so much meat isn’t that appealing but I’m gonna try!

Don’t overeat on carnivore. Check your GKI every morning. You can have a GKI of 1 or less every day. Switch it up now and then, splurge and eat more and still keep a GKI under 3. All these people stuffing their faces on huge amounts of meat, not progressing, A1c over 5.6, just stop it. Eat to the chemistry and heal on a deep level. You can do it.

over complicating it, all the doctors who support carninvore arent out there checking levels every day. if you are eating true carnivore with just salt beef butter bacon an eggs, you will eat until slap full when you body tells you to stop, its when your adding bbq sauce and sugars that people tend to overeat. dont need to test anything, dont need to check ketosis, that all just a waste of money. ive been eating 1lb of bacon and 6 eggs once a day and steadily dropping every day. thats the beauty of the Proper Human Diet, you eat, you dont count calories. you eat meat an abstain from everything else.

There are a lot of other factors as well that go into it: sleep, managing stress, hormones to name a few. Getting your circadian health aligned can really help. Also taking measurements since it’s very likely you’re losing fat but preserving muscle mass (so the scale isn’t moving but your body is changing!).

That undereating thing is interesting...I've been OMAD for years now so it's just natural to me and I simply can't eat more...just started carnivore 5 weeks ago and have been taking mounjaro since March 7th...I cannot get below 180 to save my life!! I can't figure out why it's not coming off! How do people starve to death if I can't even lose 20 lbs??! I have only been able to eat 1 steak for my meal or about 5 strips of bacon and 4 eggs...I have eaten a whole pack of hot dogs when I couldn't afford a ribeye. The thing I don't understand is WHY isn't my body racing to get back to homeopathy at qround 160 lbs?? I thought the body WANTED to be at an ideal weight...so why is it holding this unwanted 20 lbs??

Mmmm weird, I've increased my fat and seen my cellulite get much better on my legs. Maybe HONESTLY track for a week, and switch it up. Some people do better with higher protien. You might be eating too much fat it's really easy to If you are eating fatty meat, adding tallow to eggs, eating butter and cheese. I only eat a lot of butter around my period because I get hungrier. The rest of the month I just eat eggs, bacon, and a cut of meat at dinner. If the meat is too dry, I will eat it with a small slice of cheese or a little bit of butter to help me get enough calories. I've never eaten a whole stick of butter. I don't crave/need it like other woman. A lot of women feel great with just red meat. I love my steak but I noticed that once I added seafood and chicken wings I felt a lot better and started to lose the weight.

I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to : MEAT= 6 grams of protein per 1 ounce of meat (slight variations according to meat type)So 8 ounce beef steak = 48 grams protein. : Eggs = 5/7 grams protein per 1 egg ( according to size) Not sure on the fish ,but would assume similar to meat !! I find these figures good enough to be aware of my daily figures (give or take) !
@Desertflower743
@Desertflower743 3 ай бұрын
Just type it into Google. Eg, if you have 300g of rump steak for dinner just Google “nutrition 300g rump steak” and make a note or keep a chart of how many grams of protein, fat and calories for each item you eat each day. You’re aiming for a minimum of at least 30g protein per meal and an equal or greater amount of grams of fats per meal. Also aim for 2000 calories per day. If you include any veg or fruit keep a note of that also, 20g carbs or less per day will help you stay in ketosis. Good luck 🙂

I am not yet on carnivore. I am elderly, overweight and somewhat sedentary. I have been told by various sources, to loose weight I need to restrict my caloric intake to 850 calories per day. This seems excessive to me. Does this apply in carnivore?

Focusing on smaller, more dense meals could help! Fattier meat such as a 80/20 burger with bacon and even butter added has a LOT of calories for not even a large portion. This concept can be helpful!

It seems to me I've heard figures as high as 1.8 grams of protein daily per pound of desired body weight. It may be a female vs male thing, but I think I've heard one should be shooting for at least 1 gram and up to 1.8 gram protein daily for each pound of desired body weight.
