So horrifying for Reena Virk only 14 and she’s bullied for her weight, religion and looks. The only victim is Reena, she died a horrible death.

I grew up with Reena, my little brother was friends with her little brother. We lived a few blocks away from the Virks. We went to Mackenzie Elementary and Colquitz together. Reena and I were in a grade 4 play of Goldilocks and the three bears, she was mama bear and i was papa bear, my parents still have the VHS recording of the play. As someone who knows a lot about Reena and the events that transpired this trailer is so infuriatingly inaccurate. Not sure if I have the stomach to re-live this trauma honestly

Something I enjoy here is seeing people seek out Lily Gladstone's other work. She has been a very productive actor with many good projects so I hope people take the energy that led up to the Oscars & use it to pursue their films & series the public may not have come up on people's radar previously.

It's a true crime story, not fiction, so you can actually read all about the actual case. Really horrifying. The young actors have a tough job

❤ It's based on the events, but it's a dramatisation rather than a documentary, so there are differences to the true life events. It's respectful, in my opinion. Manjit Virk, Reena's father, is credited as a consultant on the film.

I live just a few short kms, walking distance away from where it happened but lived up island at the time. It truly was a pretty haunting and horrific story for a long time here on the island. Thankfully they replaced the old Craigflower bridge in 2013/2014 and updated the area a bit. It's actually a beautiful area (at Gorge Rd and Tillicum to the Craigflower bridge at Admirals), since 1907 to go for a walk, kayak, paddle board, etc. and many do. RIP Reena and Suman Virk.

I remember this horrible tragedy in Saanich BC . Kelly Ellard beat and drowned poor Reena Virk for no reason. My heart shattered for 14 year old Reena and her family. Kelly Ellard is a free woman. 🥺

Most people come to the comments of a trailer, specifically to learn whether the show/movie is worth a watch or not. However, what we don’t want, is to read the details that will spoil the whole show for us.

@@BS-dq1kz "Spoiler alert!" The series and trailer specifically say it's based on the true story. The news is out there already. Likewise, for those who've been the victims of similar levels of horrible bullying and assaults, it's a heed caution warning for the storyline and subject matter.

I remember Reena Virk. That happened 10km away from where I live now. I never found the story film-worthy, though. Won't be watching this show. One important thing to note for you film continuity buffs. The bridge that she was killed under no longer exists. The Craigflower Bridge was rebuilt years after her death. It looks nice now. All concrete. But it used to be an old, rickety wooden bridge. It was built in 1933. So, they'll certainly have to film that scene in a different location.

The bridge they show at around 00.28 seconds is the Nicomen Slough Bridge at Dewdney just east of Mission, BC.

I honestly don’t kno who were the other nominees with Lily for that award so I can’t say Lily Gladstone should’ve 110% won it bcuz that’s just not fair nor is it right. There’s no logic behind it but I’ll admit that Lily was beyond PHENOMENAL on that movie with Leo. They both killed it & their onscreen chemistry was very evident, they both stole the show for me personally on TFOTM movie 💯💯💯 They both just was just outstanding & just sooooo amazing.

Based on a true story and very painful horrific event which took place where I live. Not a thriller as some comments think. It was beyond horrible and the pain and anger we feel Everytime the parole hearings take place.
