Praying God provides next steps and answers as you navigate losing your scholarship. I am so sorry, Grace. I can only imagine how stressful this situation must be. Jesus, be so near to Grace. Give her next steps and guidance and peace through this process. You know exactly what you have planned for Grace and let her find comfort in that. To live under God, Ive decided to: live a life surrendered to Him, no matter what the cost. I have definitely been teetering back and forth of living under culture in some areas of my life & living under God in others. I paused the sermon and asked the Lord to show me what my 1 predetermined decision was. When He gave me mine, I literally couldn’t stop crying because it’s what I’ve always wanted but haven’t fully done. Tired of living life as a mediocre Christian. Such a potent message! It's so important right now to be intentional about what is steering us, especially with the new level of hateful things people are saying about the church during the pandemic. We've got to stay low, humble, and in His presence if we are going to respond to the discrimination with truth and love. We've just had an unprecedented wave of nasty attacks online, but under the right influence its just another opportunity to respond with compassion, truth, love, and offer the reason for our confidence in Jesus! The culture says "Follow your heart and your desires" or " We were born this way". God says that we need Him to guide us and change our hearts, because many times our desires are harmful to us and the people around us. That's a simple example.

Hannah, here in America we have the freedom to worship, so it can be easy to believe that culture is not "hostile" to God because we aren't persecuted for our beliefs the way many are in other parts of the world. What Pastor Craig is getting at is that our modern culture is so consumer-driven, so materialistic, and so self-serving, that it is in opposition to how Jesus taught us to live our lives. It's difficult to be in the world but not of it, and that's what this message is trying to help us do.

I also stay off social media i just go in u tube for your sermons and other Godly videos.I dont go on especially because my kids pictures sonetimes are posted and it hurts me to c them grow without me because they are forcebly told they cant talk to me or there dad gets angry with them..

Why would any believer, especially a pastor, ever want to promote joking from the pulpit? Why would they ever want to address worldly things such politics and talk about worldly catch phrases, such as "being under the influence", knowing that it points to drinking alcohol? This should serve as a wakeup call for anyone who has chosen to faithully follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe you can be serious about the things of god without taking yourself too seriously. Any jokes that Pastor Craig uses in his sermons are not to make light of the subject, but to help make the message more understandable and accessible. If you watch the message, you will see that his example of being under the influence of alcohol is a metaphor for how easy it is to be pulled under the influence of the world instead of the influence of God.
