They did actually make a movie about the guy that was one of Escobar's main pilots, one of the wildest true stories in our modern history, called American Made. He was a former airline pilot that made contact with a CIA officer who made arrangements for him to smuggle weapons to the contra fighters in south america. The planes where designed to haul as many weapons as possible anyway on the way down there, so the plane was just empty on the way back, so Escobar's people got into contact with him and he started hauling coke back across the border on each and every trip he went out there for the CIA. I don't think Pablo was there on the first day, but that guy did actually meet Pablo Escobar in person and was invited to a number of festive occasions by him personally. The real messed up thing is, the CIA eventually found out about it and intentionally turned a blind eye to it until the administration changed, and then they burned his cover which eventually resulted in his death.

If you look at other appearances by this man you can actually pick up on subtle differences in his face. Liver spots and blemishes are in slightly different positions compared to before. It only adds to it that the main result on google for "Michael McGowan" is the Canadian filmmaker of the same name. Only thing that makes me even question his legitimacy is that second point. It's poor form to use the name of people with some level of celebrity status as it usually only attracts attention.
