I’ve just started binge watching your videos and appreciate them. I’m just a geek about seeing how rvs are built and most of them disappoint me.

Thanks for exposing this ridiculous problem. As you said, it's inexcusable! We consumers need to hold them accountable. Other than not buying something, what can we do? I had no clue about such things when I bought my 2022 Rockwood 2911BS Travel Trailer in November 2022. I bought a brand new, very expensive (to me}, thing. There's no reason to even consider that there is a plumbing issue before it even left the factory. Sure enough, on our 3rd trip, one of those incorrectly plumbed fittings under the kitchen sink was leaking so badly that I had to turn off the water when we weren't using it. The dealer "fixed" it under warranty. Unfortunately, they didn't actually fix it. They just redid the already incorrectly plumbed fitting. They even left the old PEX band in the sink for me to find so that we could realize what "good job" they did. Fortunately, I can park it in front of the house for a few days before anyone gets antsy. I'll bring it home and spend a few days fixing all of the plumbing fittings the right way. What a joke. If I knew even half the garbage I know now about RVs, I would not have bought one!! But I did, and we love it, and I'm going to make the best of it.

My 2011 DRV Mobile Suite hydraulic slide out on the living room side creeps out while traveling. I bought a RV Slide out lock that mounts on the inside of the rig. Works great and solved a problem for $50.00.

I have learned so much from your videos! Thank you for taking your time to educate us! I am going to some kind of RV in about 6 months as we going to retire in 17 months. I am trying to figure out new vs used. My research tells me to look for an older ( Golden Era) motor coach as the build quality was much better. Of course I will hire a certified inspector. I am fairly handy so as long as it is generally in decent shape I stand to save a lot of money.

The problem here is it is now under the Thor name and we all know what Thor puts out. Sadly, they sold out to Thor ever since the quality that Tiffin was known for was in jeopardy. Good video !!!

Just completed replumbing my Tiffin using brass fittings and perfect circle pinch clamps instead of the plastic crap they built it with, became sick and tired of "blowoffs" during the night, day or whenever the pex slid out the plastic fitting. The remainder of the coach is exceptionally nice.

We bought a NewMar Bay Star in 2022 before we were aware of this issue. I was relieved to find that it was correctly plumbed. Maybe Tiffin will wise up because of this issue. Thanks

Completely agree except with residential fridges. I have replaced these under warranty and they’re just not that great in many mobile environments. Especially the Korean junk models. That plumbing is inexcusable. I wonder if that has changed since Thor bought Tiffin or if that’s how it’s always been done?

So if I’m about to buy one of these what can be done about the plumbing fails prior to purchase. Mind you it’s La Mesa RV which is a whole other subject on its own.

Regarding slide mechanisms are all cable systems bad or just the Bal Accu-slide?

After short of buying a custom built rv there are none that have quality enough to purchase. So Brinkley out Alliance out Forest River out to Keystone Jayco and all the other manufacturers out. So unless I have 270.000 to 1 million rving is OUT. Thanks for the info now I will just by house in AZ or Florida and for get rving.

Please review a Rockwood signature trailer. I love the layout but I know from you Forest River is hit or miss on plumbing across their brands.

Have you ever looked at Newmar plumbing?

Can you rate a Northwood Mfg? An Artic Fox or Desert Fox are good choices.

2024 Forest River Salem FSX 169 RSK- ours is ordered. I didnt look at plumbing under sinks But I do know there is a hose coming from under the bathroom cabinet to the toilet. That is the white flex hose. Prior to signing on the guided line purchasing at can we ask the dealer to switch that out to PEX and do you think they will? Should we try to switch this out ourselves if they say no? Can a non mechanical person do this accurately?

No really surprise for Grand Design but hey at least the frame has not broken in half yet. OH wait, that is right give it 3.1 years after the warranty and it is sure to happen in any of their 5th wheel configurations. Especially if you put more than 4 weeks of use in it per year.

Does Lippert make any quality RV products?

So this is not a Bob Tiffin Motorhome but a Thor built Tiffin. I think that matters.

Living Vehicles also cost more than I can afford. I am not sure an undercover tech can easily inspect them though.

Tiffin don’t stand behind their rv’s. They have countless lawsuits going on now.
