Just ordered the passenger side one for my 2017 Colorado. As an RV owner, I needed something that I can carry the basic towing, roadside emergency and Rving tools and gear. Trying to keep the trailer as light as possible! I have a folding tonneau which doesn't fold right up to the rear window, so a traditional box was not an option. Saw these while searching for a solution, and had to order. Will probably end up with the drivers side too, judging from the reviews I've seen. can't wait to get it installed.

Good review. Thanks for pointing out that the mounting bracket is specific to the truck manufacturer. I didn't even realize I was looking at a GM product, when I drive a Dodge Ram. They sell that one also. I just need to make sure I get the right one.

very thorough video man. sweet. i think i'll be getting one or two. if your tailgate locks, can someone still get the swing case out if it didn't have the lock on the mounting part?

Don't need the lock as most truck now have electric locking tailgates, even my 2017 Ram Express does and with a tonneau cover it's completely secure.

When I see a channel like this and comments from 2-4 years asking questions and the channel owner hasn't replied, that is basically anti-subscribe in my book 🤷‍♂️ The answer is no, it doesnt rattle

I like the design but ABS plastic and that little latch look extremely easy to break into, not that you would keep anything valuable in there, but if it were made out of steel and had a decent latch I would consider it. Maybe if it were aluminum I would consider it and add my own hasp and lock. Great review though, thank you.

I'm interested in this product. Great way to organize the truck bed. However, I have a bed extender. So is this going to get in the way?

+EMMANUEL PENA Hey did you ever figure it out if you can use with a bed extender? I think you cant both at same time? but could you use them separately is it easy to uninstall?

In most cases the bed extender would interfere with the swing boxes. They definitely can not be used at the same time. I have a 2018 GMC Sierra and a Lund bed extender. It looks like the bracket for the bed extender mount in the same location as the swing box hinge brackets. Consequently, you would not be able to switch back and forth...

Can't you just close and lock your tail gate to prevent it from being stolen? Since it can't swing out.

they should provide you with extra lock and one key that would work on both locks big fail

shame its made of plastic, if it was made of metal would be great for one each side of the bed and like you said not ideal people being able to take it away without buying a sepperate lock

The SwingCase is junk. My truck is garaged 90% of it's life (2013 with only 32,000 miles). I keep a couple pairs of gloves, some funnels and other lightweight items in them. My first set of cases started to crack and spider out throughout the entire case. During car washing or rain, water will fill the cases. I sent pictures to Undercover and they replaced them under warranty. About 8 months into the second set they started to do the same thing. I called Undercover again and they said they wouldn't replace them anymore. JUNK!
