Undercover video shows how prescription drugs in Florida are adulterated, misbranded in black market

Video taken by an undercover government informant shows a woman, her son and husband wiping labels off prescription medication bottles in a South Florida apartment.
They remove the labels and reattach the information packet to the bottles that contain expensive medication including HIV meds that patients chose to sell.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General drug diversion is just one of the ways criminals steal billions of dollars from Medicare each year and unfortunately, South Florida is the epicenter of Medicare fraud.

Taking the label off makes them look unused, then they bundle them up and then they look like wholesale would be my guess. I would think they would need an inside man to make this work though.

Drug manufacturers should print drug info on the plastic containers instead of paper labels which can be peeled off and easily altered.

Drug manufacturers make it in bulk, the pharmacist counts it out individually based on how and what you need. They also receive bottles and blank labels in bulk.

It’s drug companies being allowed to charge THAT much for life saving medication that people are desperate for that is the issue here. Obviously! This wouldn’t be happening if there wasn’t a MASSIVE profit per bottle.. it wouldn’t be happening if people weren’t absolutely desperate to get medication at a discount because they could never afford it otherwise.

Disgusting that’s why I don’t have anything to do with healthcare. I don’t care if I’m dying if I’ve got cancer I don’t care if I have whatever I’m not taking no pills. I’m not going to no hospital. I’m not having nothing to do with the healthcare I’ll lay down in the snow and freeze to death before I will go anywhere near healthcare if I had cancer, I would lay down in the snow and freeze to death. It's dangerous because they're mislabeling the damn drugs that they are selling back, and a lot of them are out of date, not to mention using lighter fluid to take the labels off seeps through the medication bottles contaminating those pills.
