Trying to pick apart Zack's argument: If the runner won the race because they chose the best equipment/clothes, then they are indeed the best "runner", as in "Best Athlete that Adapted to the Various Factors to Win a Race". If "runner" is defined as "Best at Solely RUNNING", then Peter is right. Wearing good pants doesn't mean you would run faster than everyone on equal grounds.

I love how Zack explains how you can't see your items with the only two items in the game that auto activate.

The way I see it, this adds less skill to the game. The less info you have, the less strategy you can use. This takes the already skill reducing random items, and removes players' ability to tactically work with them. Now, please, don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining, and Mario Kart was never known for rewarding high skill anyways. It was fun to watch these guys struggle through MKWii without knowing what was going on. The TRUE test of pure skill would be as follows: 1: Choose 5 (or more, based on how much time you have) character + kart combos. Each one of them should be different enough from each other so that you end up testing how each player does with a set that emphasizes different stats. With infinite time, you would use every character + kart combo, but let's just use 5 for now. 2: Choose 1 of those 5 (that has not been chosen for these next few steps yet), and have each player select it. 3: Set speed to 150cc (if it has not already been set there), turn items off, and turn AI off. 4: Race each track, or at least enough different tracks to test various aspects of racing, at least once. Ideally, each track should be driven at least 5 times, but again, time is a factor. If you did not race each track remember the tracks you did race on. You will use those tracks for all the repeats. 5: Record the finishing positions of each player, for each race. 6: Repeat steps 2-5 until all the chosen character + kart combos have raced on the various tracks at least twice. 7: Use the collected data to calculate the average finish (across the various character + kart combos). Whichever player has the best average finish is truly the most skilled. A few notes about the test. One, the more races you run at each track, the less likely a fluke is to impact the overall outcome. Two, turning items off altogether reduces Mario Kart to Forza: Nintendo edition, yes, but this way, as much RNG is taken out. As RNG amounts go up, skill becomes less and less important. Again, there is nothing inherently wrong with removing skill, and people don't play Mario Kart to see who the best is. They play Mario Kart to have fun, and ultimately, that should be the goal. (obligatory generic comment thanking the Underdogs for yet another amazing video, asking them to play "xyz" games next, and why "xyz" should be Mario Kart: Double Dash!!) Edit: In terms of pure skill, Zack's average final placement this video was 5th and Peter's was 3rd (my calculator said 2.25, so I rounded). With Dry Bones in the Tiny Titan, Zack finished 11th, and Peter finished 3rd. Granted, both of these are just determining raw player talent, not character viability, game knowledge, track knowledge, etc., so I am only saying the Underdog with the most raw talent, not necessarily the overall best Underdog.

The reason the underdogs aren’t big on Christmas is because they live in one of the warmest countries, so they are not able to experience Christmassy things. I live in Canada, and personally, I’m pretty big on Christmas, I like doing things in the snow, and having the snow outside during Christmas just changes the mood. But obviously, it’s different if your Jewish, or for any other reason on why you don’t celebrate Christmas.

the problem with Zac's argument is that unlike the olympics or the formula one, Mario kart is not as competitive of an environment meaning that not everyone is trying their hardest to win. This can be explained with the brick shoes analogy, the brick shoes actually explained the situation except for the fact that Usain Bolt is running in a show race and as such is not performing to his best ability.

An easy way to deconstruct Little Zs arguments is to put Cogger on the best combo and everyone else on the worst and see if he becomes the best driver
