That looked like a serious highway you were on at the start, and not very bicycle friendly. You were not kidding about how beautiful this part of Uruguay is. Ride safe sir! Can see why you want the keep using the bike option when you head to Spain and Europe.

I had a blast on that hwy! lol Yes it's gorgeous here, though I'm a bit bias because I was born here, but raised abroad, but this part of the country it's definitively amazing and quiet.
