Never had an issue with K&N, and if it does get oil on the MAF, cleaning it is cheap and easy

cotton gauze filters aren't harmful to your air volume sensor or anything else because the oil in the filter can't be sucked out of it that easily. JP Performance mentioned that in one of his last videos and named K&N because they tested that with their own filters and nothing malfunctioned in their tests. they not only tried it normally with driving but pushed a lot of pressurized air through them and no oil came out but in extreme high pressures. also you usually don't have pressurized air infront of the filter but after it. so to conclude my comment ITS A MYTH. often other parts malfunction on tuned cars and its not the fault of the air filter. comment if you have new information

I don't know that the foam can get clogged more easily. it may seem that way because foam filters are more commonly used on off roading vehicles.

I bought a Wix air filter recently, and it had a foam pre-filter (Ay yo dog, i hear you like air filters so i got a filter for your filter). I was wondering if I could just make my own with foam pre-filter with a similar sized sheet of foam from a fabrics store and cut it to size? (NOTE - I'm not going to use the foam alone, just make my own pre-filter and put it in front of the dirty side of the paper filter).

Any high rise filter setup is going to make more power, partly because of the cooler air draw but mainly it's the length the air has to travel and if it has basically a straight shot down to the runners. The farther the air has to travel and turn the worse off it will be making power. Sad to think how some turbo cars could have a straighter intake path and probably gain 15 hp at least and still make the torque you need on the street. It should be a no brainer but I'm not a engineer for an auto maker so what do I know.

I bought an intake just for extra sound, wasn't expecting any performance. Stock intakes nowadays are more than adequate enough.

It makes me chuckle when people remove the stock airbox and all associated pipes bringing in cool fresh air, and replace it with a cone filter directly to the air intake, inside the enclosed hot engine bay. Thus creating a hot air intake.

When it comes to air filters, the more restrictive the better. (Within Reason) Unless you are at a dragstrip, the benefit of protecting your engine is going to far outwieght getting 9%more air into the airbox and three times as much dust. INcluding larger particles.

“Performance gains” Because a Bugatti uses 2 regular paper filters only twice the size as your average car filter. It’s been proven time and time again “performance” filters are a scam, can lead to sensor failure, and removes the water sump known as an air box.

My pipercross panel air filter started to fall apart after maybe 15kkm. Rubber frame cracked and foam started to fall apart, going through MAF to turbo. I was suppose to clean filter after 32kkm. Didn`t believe when i read same thing on internet so i bought it and it happened to me as well. My Pipercross is now where he belongs. In garbage

I bought a k&n. Left it in my boot. I gained horsepower and mpg because the box said so

Foam air filters: -Flow better than paper or gauze -Filter about 50% better -Are almost impossible to block -Have a much higher carrying capacity An oil analysis is an easy way to measure the difference. 🙂 P.S. You need a thicker foam filter for dusty conditions... as some of the european foam filters are too thin e.g. Pipercross.

better for all cars is stock, but if u go tune a car need a sport short airfilter setup with cotton :) pls clean or replace filters!!!

1-2 hp is different then the 10 hp claim. why? because that 10 extra hp is on a modified vehicle. its all marketing. so dont spend 1000 dollars on a weapon r intake. infact. keep your stock airbox and spend the money on better mods.

I don't reccomend honeycomb filters

the oil "fact" is not real. the oil is not getting of the filter! f. example K&N did test theirs with alot psi turbos that shkuldve sucket every planet throu that filter. BUT the oil stayed on!

Stick that into your intake and smoke it

Just get your car tuned then you'll get way more performance gains than a intake

He's inaccurate on 1 thing, not all cone filters besides k&n run oil
