I confused my husband with math and multiples on the cardigan I just did. I was speaking out loud as I was adding, subtracting and dividing and he just looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. It was really funny 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Crystal! I learned some basic crochet stitches when I was a kid about 100 years ago.🤣 So when I decided to pick it back up as an adult, I had the wonderful fortune of finding you on here. You’ve taught me so much and have inspired me and given me the confidence I needed to become a pretty good designer and crocheter. Thank you for all you do for this community. 🥰🧶🌈

Oh gosh Crystal I am learning so very much from you. I have so much to learn, but it is so exciting and rewarding. You are so amazing - besides being the greatest teacher who is the most inspirational, you are an "Engineering (Math lover) Crochet Genius" - truly!!! So wise-so creative-so EVERYTHING! I am forever grateful for the "gifts" of you! Blessings, love and light! Enjoy! MInd you I am almost 68 years old (never too old to learn) and have only been crocheting for about 2 1/2 - 3 years. I feel you when you get really upset to read or hear people say they cannot do "this or that"-it looks too complicated. I tell my friends if I can learn , anyone can and looks are deceiving! Again much of my desire or "wanting to" is because of you!!!! Totally Addicted forever!!! 🙂

I also enjoy knowing multiples because I can take a stitch from a wrap or shawl or blanket and make it into something completely different, which is what I usually do. I'll take a blanket type stitch and measure it to fit me and then make it into a sweater. It's so much fun! Thanks Crystal for giving me the confidence for all of the fun I'm having with crochet!

I started crocheting 50 years ago and never knew anything about weights of yarn. Yarn other then red heart yarn. Multiples. All I did was Granny Squares and then I got creative and did my doubles long ways without instructions on how to that. When I came across your videos it just clicked. Not saying everything clicks. But I keep hooking and creating new things. Thank you for being special and taking the extra time with us.

Now I crochet and design for enjoyment and to give to family. I also have requests from people when they see my work when I set up at craft shows. But for me I just enjoy it.

Glad you did this video. I understand the concept of multiples so I already knew all this. If you have the multiple, I think it is easier to do the chain...you just count the multiple (1234,1234,1234,1234, etc) then add the turning chain on the end. So easy. That is why I like knowing the multiple. Also, I have a book of borders and edgings and every border pattern gives you the multiple so you will know if that border will work with your project. You may find a border you really like but it needs a multiple of 7 but your project was a multiple of 4, you know that border will not work. Thanks Crystal!

@ElizabethRoss-uj8rl

I believe that beginners are confused by the use of the word "stitch". A stitch is, by definition, a single entity, such as a chain stitch, one single crochet stitch, one double crochet stitch, etc. So a multiple of stitches determine the ultimate PATTERN, not the "stitch", of a design. Experienced crafters usually refer to a pattern as a stitch, but you can see how confusing that can be. I love your videos, and just watching you establish a pattern is all I need to understand how to proceed. You deserve all these nearly-a-million subs! Keep up the great work!

I’ve watched almost all your videos but didn’t comment on all.
