Everything has changed now.. Covering up is considered oppression, while stripping is freedom. I understand that people are of different backgrounds, different cultures, and different beliefs. The majority of the scholars agreed that niqab is not mandatory in Islam, and in Islam if something is debatable we go with the majority.

It's not necessary to wear niqab but it completely depends upon women to wear niqab or not.. if they want to protect themselves extra then they wear it for extra protection.
