In this reaction we take a look at Dharma Speaks video titled: "Hinduism: Understanding Image and Temple Worship". Image and temple worship hold a central role in the practices of many Hindus. However, the rituals and concepts associated with these practices are sometimes perceived as primitive and pagan. Yet, as elucidated in this video, Hindus perceive God not merely as transcendent but also as immanent in creation. Through the intricate interplay of ritual and faith, the infinite and omnipresent Divinity can be roused and infused even within seemingly lifeless objects.
The ancient Upanishad scriptures serve as the theological and spiritual foundation for Image worship. Understanding these scriptures reveals the rationale behind venerating the Murthi (temple image) as Divine. What adds to the significance of this perspective is that by regarding the Murthi as God rather than a mere statue, the devotee gains access to a direct conduit for encountering the Divine. This profound perception transforms the Murthi into a sacred portal through which devotees can establish a firsthand connection with the Divine.

@13:02 There are actually many records of deities in temples moving historically. The Udupi sri Krishna statue is said to have turned backwards away from the main entrance to give view to a devitee who was not allowed to enter the temple and see the deity from the front and had to get a peak at the deity from the backside through a small window and the deity reciprocated by turning towards him. There is also Sakshi Gopal in Odisha, a deity that has travelled more than 1000 kms followed a devotee under his request from North India to Odisha. Also, there is Yaganti Nandi (bull statue) which is constantly growing in size, every year, and it was documented to be around 2ft x2ft during British rule and now it's almost 4ft x 4ft (the exact value may be different, I'm just writing it by memory, based on what I saw there, personally). There will be many more which I'm not aware of. But apart from these, the reciprocation that temple priests get from the deity is very common in many big temples. Telling about a specific event or specific task to be done, etc in the dream of multiple people, and them going and fulfilling thise tasks, etc... is pretty common in many big temples. In puri temple, the location of the specific trees (of specific species, with specifications of number of branches, with naturally formed symbols, facing certain direction, sometimes deep inside the Jungle sometimes) for making the new wooden deities is revealed to certain people through dreams consistly every 12 years whenever Navakalebar event is held where the new wooden deities are made from thsie specific trees and installed in place of old deities through prana pratishtha. There Many historical instances where, when a saint prays to God to have a deeper relationship with God, God comes in the dream of the saint and asks them to look for a murthi (statue) at a certain location in some remote place and they found that specific form of the statue at that location after searching and then they bring those statues to do orana pratishtha inside a temple. Also, there are many many temple across India where the deities (statues) are not manmade, but selfmanifested (swayambhu). Vijayawada kanakadurga is a prime example for that which I can remember on the go. Different forms of god have different moods and thus different kinds of worship proceedures are necessary to honor that deity form. - When ISKCON Mayapur needed protection from dacoits, they were suggested to install a Ugra-Narasimha swami deity (a very angry, dangerous form of the lord), and after a lot of tribulations, when trained deity makers refused due to the potency of that form, they found the right qualified person fit for the job who agreed and asked them to immediately take the deity as soon as its completed, as once the deity is complete (as per the vedic injunctions), it's so potent that it needs to be pacified through worship. The day the deity was ready, and they couldn't take the deity till the next day, the workshop roof where the deity was stored caught fire during the night spontaneously. But as soon as they took the deity, installed in the temple, and the prana pratishtha performed by one of the most qualified people called from all corners of the country ... and then as usual temole worship began and within few days the dacoit issue got resolved automatically and no other militant issue ensued there thereafter. Later, regularly the deity used to communicate with the priest in his dreams about different events in that area and to solve them. @16:03 and @16:18 THIS is the very same deity of Ugra Narasimha murti if the Lord in ISKCON Mayapur, that I've been speaking about. That deity is magnanimous, powerful and that experience I had in person was one of a kind.... One or the few new temples where I felt such an intense energy m apart from old temples. I can only remember there out of my head as of now...

There are also ample stories of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa witnessing Kali Maa coming to life at the Dakshineshwar temple in Kolkata. I’m also reminded of Akbar’s wife, Taj Bibi, who was a devout Krishna bhakt. Lord Krishna came to feed her at night and gave her food because she had decided to fast until death unless he showed himself. The next morning, when the Shri Govinddev Ji’s temple in Vrindavan opened, the temple had utensils and bhog missing. They were found at Taj Bibi’s place!

Not 'idol' the proper Hindu name is a 'Murti' -- In the Hindu tradition, a murti (Sanskrit) is a devotional image, such as a statue or icon, of a deity or saint used during puja and/or in other customary forms of actively expressing devotion or reverence.

@zoro23889 that's not what he said. I'm reading the Gita these days and what he said is that you can't attain nirvana or him by simply reading the vedas and upanishads and blindly following the rituals. The SELF has to be realized internally. People follow rituals with the DESIRE to attain enlightenment. But in the Gita it clearly states that someone who desires anything, can never attain God or nirvana. You have to let go of desire. It's paradoxical, I know. Also, Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga are two sides of the same coin. You can't attain God by just doing your duties without faith, and you also can't attain God by abandoning all work and simply sitting and contemplating God. It has to go hand in hand.

About "dressing up a doll" as swami Vivekananda explained, imagine a doll of your mother. If someone were to step on it or spit on it, would you get angry? Most would because it is not just a doll at that point, it is a representation of one's mother. Their love for their mom kicks in. Similarly, when you view an idol as god, your devotion kicks in. You treat the idol like god and perform all services as you would if god were sitting in front of you. If you had the opportunity to service god as a handyman, wake him gently from his sleep, help him bathe, get ready so he can do the utmost difficult task of managing worlds for the day, wouldn't you? Btw, the ritual of carrying the idol around streets in India is meant to introduce the households that live around the temple to the idol (god) so that god's kind sight may fall on anyone in need and their difficulties may be resolved. It is not a fun activity to display to others how ostentatiously you decorated a doll. They do try to make it fun for the idol (god) being carried around with fireworks, music, and dances. Keep learning as I will.

One of reason I can give why hindus worship God is,when a tyre of car is punctures, you go to one exact point fill up the air and repair the puncture even though you can find air everywhere, temples are not build on any random places, its on the places where it reflects positive vibrations, and the place where idol resides (center of temple or grabhagruha) is the main point from where all the positivity reflects everywhere. You guys are still at beginning phase so you will learn eventually how our Dharma is mainly focused on easing human life along with coordination of nature including considering all the living beings equal, not just considering humans are superior.

8:19 yes , every hindu has his own temple in a specific part of the home , and you can see the personal god of every family member there .we develop this private connection with the god . Even athestic and non-dualistic philosopies inside Hinduism recognise that to know truth , you have to start somewhere , with focus and murat(material) is the way to amurat ( infinite) , that's how even dualistic views under Hinduism collapses to non-duality and all hindus eventually realises all their views and philosphies are converging to a single path . 12:47 absolutely, there are plenty of incidences . although I personally haven't experienced one , but i feel plenty of motivation and energy when i talk with my personal god .

Most Krishna devotees have a small kid form idol of Krishna with them called "ladoo Gopal". The devotee took care of ladoo Gopal just like they take care of a child of their own. They take him with them everywhere appropriate they go. To a person who don't understand the idea may feel it as playing dolls but for us it is our relationships with him.

I just wanted to expand upon few things. It's not idol worship, but its deity (Murthi) worship. The deity in the temple is considered as literal incarnation of God in that form to give access of himself to humans. And that is achieved by inviting God, and invoking him to reside in the stone statue, during the initial installation, using vedic rituals, tantric symbols, vivrations, chants, and seals (Prana pratishtha). So the deity in the temple is actually empowered with God's presence and this is actually felt spontaneously as soon as we enter the inner most sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) of the temple, which is filled with positive vibrations in air which gives an instant serenity, peace, calmness to mind and thus, making our mind stable and undisturbed, focused. This effect is more pronounced in older temples like Shakti peethams, Tirupati temple, Jyotirlingas etc.... because those old temples were specifically located at the locations where positive energy is highly concentrated, and the deity us more potent (meaning even normal nonspiritual people can feel the effect in thise places). Now, coming to the actual goal of Hinduism is to become free from material attachments, attain equal vision, peace, realise our true nature to be spirit soul (aatman) and understand our relationship with God and thus attain true happiness and bliss. And the very first step of this process is to control our mind. And temples provide that atmosphere which are condusive for controlling our mind and attain one-pointed-focus on God. THIS IS THE FIRST STEP. And ultimately we have to realise, understand and revive our relationship with God. But this personal relationship with God is not based on material body or mind. It's on spiritual level which can only be accessed by advancing spiritually through practice (sadhana). So, the thought process of not having any restriction and hanging out in a temple, being ourselves based on our whimsy, and hang out there with the deity, enjoy the art, colors etc, will only stimulate our mind but doesn't help in either controlling our mind or even developing any deep relationship with the deity on a spiritual level. The freedom of whimsy is actually taking away the purpose of the temples.... i,e., developing a deep spiritual relationship with God and elevate ourselves spiritually, which will automatically fill our life with profound bliss and happiness. The pouring of the milk, water etc, has a specific purpose of offering food to God and then receive that same milk, water as God's blessing (prasadam) and we consume that milk. Here we are literally investing the God's blessings by eating or drinking the prasadam, and metaphysically it is believed that what we eat affects our mind and if we eat God's prasadam, it will elevate our consciousness through the process that'll make us more receptive to spiritual advancement which is what is necessary to attain true eternal profound happiness in life (opposed to the temporary material pleasure) And of course general public who go to the temple just go there have a soulful, viewing of the deity, then we take the God's blessings by consuming prasadam that is offered to God (food/water/milk), sit for a while reminescing about the Deity's form, decoration, paraphernalia, etc. we can also pray/glorify/offer gratitude... and sometimes ask for anything if we want anything, etc... spend some time, enjoy the serenity and then come out. This makes us calm, happy, peaceful, joyful. Offering milk etc is not done by general public. It's a procedure done in the temple by the priest as part of the regular services to God. Of course just sitting in the temple hanging out, will also give a calmness, serenity in our mind which in itself is beneficial. Everyone is at a different stage of their journey and so they can have their own way of approaching God, and that's absolutely fine. But the basic mood we preferably can approach God is through gratitude towards him, for what he gave us, and appreciate our life for what we have, and enjoy the moment there, absorb the joy and bliss that we experience there, infront if the deity in a temple. We need not pray anything or do anything. All the art, colors, forms are there to connect our consciousness with the divine, and if we only stop at the colors and art and not see beyond it, we are losing the central purpose of the process of going to a temple which us getting spiritually charged which will help us in our daily lives and our personal spiritual practices. The deity in the temple gave to be perceived as literal embodiment of God localised there for our benefit. .. and that mood and consciousness gives us even a deeper connection with God. All the colors, decorations, paraphernalia are to be perceived as instruments that we use in service to God and and our consciousness is to derive happiness as a devotee by seeing God receiving our services through those paraphernalia.

Ideals, not idols. Murtis are not 'idols'. The Abrahamic view of Hindu Sanatanis as "idol worshippers" is due to complete lack of knowledge and insight into what murtis are. Just as words in a book of poetry convey meaning through creative linguistic expressions, which resonate with us on many levels, so do the artistic forms and expressions of murtis and temple architecture. The temple represents the universe; an infinitude of cosmic forces which are the varying names of the one reality symbolised in the inner sanctum. Wholeness governs what moves and what is at rest, and the Devas are its expressions; the various masks of the one reality. Devas are also found within, for all deities reside in the human heart, says the Rig Veda. Murtis of Hindu deities represent; *artistic iconography of the ideas of life*. They cater to the incessant Dharmic quest for personal growth, life wisdom, and ultimately, for moksha (enlightenment). Those ideals, in turn, are rooted in the world’s most liberal, humanistic and all-embracing view of divinity. One can personalise this connection with the divine as, when and where one pleases.

It’s a very subtle science, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the statue is supposed to move literally and that validates that it’s real. It’s a practice of manipulating your consciousness and that doesn’t mean fake it till you start tripping balls and the hallucinate. It’s setting yourself in a different kinda space. Plus what’s awesome is that Hinduism is so versatile that idol worship is one of many spiritual technologies, they have other traditions that appeal much more to the logical mind process like the Advaita Vedanta. All of this is there for us to explore and test out ourselves and see what’s right for us.

About concretion, its a ritual to concentrate spiritual energy into one object or moorti or lingam. People who are able to meditate and are able to unlock their own spiritual energy become receptive to the spiritual energy around them. There are some temples in india where this spiritual energy reverberate hundreds of meters around the concecrated deity/lingam. There is a reason why millions of people around the world are meditating consistently... Because they have become receptive to the spirituality and have evolved their perception to understand the deeper meaning of hindu scriptures. Unfortunately not everyone has the ability to become meditative. But there are significant number of people across the globe who are able to experience it.

When it is removed, the pujari( like father in church) put a mirror in front of the idol and the mirror breaks by itself.. It means the ritual is complete. 26:53 that's actually true, you can apply this concept to anything in the world, you can just randomly take a stone from the sea side, do "prana pratishtha ceremony" and it'll activate the divinity in the stone, that's how it works, we hindus doesn't worship idols randomly, those idols in the temples are awakened by the ceremony of prana pratishtha, after that we worship that idol. . . Actually let me clear the concept of worshipping idols in temples with the actual simple explain given by god himself. During the battle when shri krishna was enlightening Arjuna, Shri Krishna told him that I am god, you don't have to worry about future and the outcomes of this battle, surrender yourself to me completely, have complete faith in me, and fight the battle, I'll make sure that you'll get the satisfactory result of your deed, after a while of conversation Arjuna asked hey Krishna, you said you are the god and we humans don't need to worship you with anything and any medium, we just need to remember you and believe in you with all of our heart, so why do temples and idols exist ? Krishna said, hey Arjuna, human's heart is very curious and very fond of earthly distraction and can not focus completely at a single thought for longer time, so when you go to temple and see the idol, you have the environment in which you can completely detach yourself from outer world and the distraction and your heart can completely focus at a single thought of connecting with me. It is not necessary to go to the temple to worship me or to connect with me if your desire is strong enough to connect with me, just like Gautam Buddh just sit at one place under the tree and gained enlightenment after meditating. His desire was strong enough to detach him from outer world distrsctions without going to the temple.

In my own experience, when the Murti is energized, then a large mirror is held in front of the Murti, which instantly shatters into pieces and that is the proof of God's energy in the Murti or in other words, I may say that is the proof that the Murti has God's potency. There are many videos also in youtube of that ceremony called "Pran Prathistha" or energizing the idol. To clarify, God's murti does not move or talk, but only the energy could be felt around.

Think from a larger perspective. Temples were very very rich in ancient times cause of gold and diamonds embleshed In the Murtis. There is lot of economic activity around temples. Flower vendors, sweet vendors, Murti and photo vendors, transporters etc. etc. India was called golden sparrow cause of this. But than Poor Abrahmic terrorists also knew this and invaded India for almost 900 Years.

It's not about if God is real or not in murti .. but it's about the virtues that the given god murti represent. It's also about how much we can dissolve into that god because know body can know god, one can just dissolve in it.

At 13:20 there is no story of an idol moving or anything, but just as Pran Pratishtha activates an idol, once the function is completed, one just as easily immersed the idol for the deity to go back to heaven. Ex. Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi.

Yes, the mirror breaks out automatically, this is the way to check pran pratistha is successful or not. In Goddess temple, you can feel the vibration. You can't experience that, without visiting.

13:10 There are several instances where the murti of the temple have moved.. There are also several instances of inexplicable events in and around temples, in houses of those devout. Look up “Udupi Krishna temple” and “mantralaya” for example. There are even records of the British where they have written about what they witnessed. Examples of this are literally innumerable!

Not every "religion" you said Sanatan Dharma is not actually any religion it is eternal there is no name of who started it and when it will end you can tell who started islam and Christianity and Judaism ...Dharma actually means your duty there are not set of rules to be followed in Sanatan like islam and Christianity. It makes the only religion to do so we personally believe it's the only true religion on earth.

For abhramic religions god is something, like a seperate identity from this universe and he created the universe and thats the reason they question hindus why are u worshipping a creation, but for hindus the understanding of god is that the god is the universe and universe is part of the god , like there can't exist mass without energy but energy exist without mass so the ultimate source of energy is the god which shares his fraction of energy with the universe and this universe is sustaining on that energy. So hindus worship that divine energy in every form that influence their life , and we take the path of spirituality to know god by knowing our true self Atman ( as its the same energy just a fraction) we believe as it is not easy for a mere human being to comprehend the supreme nature of god , so we do yog sadhna to know the fraction of his energy..

There is a concept in Sanatan Dharma that, a God can be personal and universal at the same time. The idol in the house that is worshipped is a form of personal God, you can talk to them, you can bath them, clothe them, offer food, sing to them, and play music for them, a personal God is treated like a person (a family member to be precise) so you cannot treat them like a doll. A Temple is more like a place where you can feel the energy of the community, a place of belonging. The Murti in the temple depicts an abstract idea as a tangible image which can be comprehended.

Let me tell you a story . there is a krishna temple in india the krishna statue turned backward and the wall got broken because his devotee is not allowed inside the temple, due to his birth. I'm not making this up you can still go there and view it . These are all written on the stones, and walls and history of the temple .It depends on the person who calls the god. First of all you need to meditate for many years to turn of mind , try doing mediation for 12 hours without moving , try it for 1 year and then you will experience it yourself

Idols are a way to invoke devotion within....that's it. Now the rituals we porform and creating our lifestyle around that idol is all just for that devotion. The mantras, bells and conch sound, lighting diyas, insense stick, offering flowers & sweets & water & milk are all for our devotion development by invoking senses like light, sound, smell, taste, etc.
@winluck9087

It is not about seeing God manifesting in to the Murthi, but the feeling of devotion, for example when I visit Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South India, and the moment I look at the diety, tears flow from my eyes automatically. That's the emotional connect we have with the Almighty. We believe God resides in everyone and everything. So it is not hard for us to see God in a Statue which is carved on a stone, which is nothing but a stone in the form of a diety. Yes we see God in a stone. It is the devotion towards the Paramathma who we see in it. We have the power(are willing) to see God in everything around us. Also inside us. We believe the body is a Temple and the soul is God. Therefore the gesture of greeting everyone, namaste with joined hands itself means the divine in me honours the divine in u. Namste=Namah+Te, Namah=Honour, Te=you. Everything is equal to God for us a pen, a paper, a violin, name it and we say it is precious. We also believe that helping others is equal to helping God, since we believe God resides in everything. This act of kindness draws a man/woman close to God. Liberation means a soul joining God, which is called Moksha. A soul that attains Moksha will not be reborn, you become one with God. All Sanathana Dharma followers ultimate goal is Moksha.

Saying Idol worship is wrong is saying like having 5 fingers in a hand is wrong. Seriously. They speak from their religious point of view, imagine if we said their faith is illegal. . There should be freedom in religion on non-controversial things. You will be shocked to know that there's a sect or organization in hinduism who do not perform idol worship. That organization is called ''Arya-samaj'' but the beautiful thing is, even they do not oppose or speak rubbish on idol worshipping hindus. They respect it. And we respect them. This is how religion should be.

22:26 it’s not the religion concept you guys are from. Religion word itself is foreign in our culture and country. It is added to “Hindu” to make it easier for foreign ppl to comprehend and understand it. “ HINDUISM” is not a word. It is made up by foreigners to put it under some sort of “ISM” things you guys look at other religions. It is not our word of origin 😂 that’s why we say Hindu is not a religion it never was. It always been Way of life. What and all things a Human being need to be doing & not be doing to live life on earth peacefully. From Food, place, Belief system, systemic way of things which should be done in a certain way and number of times and certain time of day and number of days in a week/months/year etc to live a harmonious life with other living being on earth by only taking your share of things from Nature leaving the rest for rest of the living beings. When human being stopped following the Rules of nature and Disrespecting other living beings developing the Superiority complex “ am the ultimate one on earth, I can take as much as I want, as long as I want, idc if some going extinct” is when the harmony of nature and life was lost and all kind of Natural Calamities started happening. And why the superiority complex ???? Because they are so ignorant to fact that you are only part of nature and you are not the ultimate being on earth there’s other Countless beings & ultimate higher energy above you. But as long as people gonna keep living with the Ignorant superiority complex nature, more natural calamities are ought to happen leading to mass extinction of your very existence too. Hindu Civilization and Hindu Culture teaches you the Do’s & Dont’s, the necessity of being Grounded and live your life with Gratitude and appreciation, surrendering yourself to a higher energy, so you won’t start taking more than your share from nature & Doesnt cost every other living beings and yours as well leading to extinction, if you live with a thinking you own everything. So No Hindu Civilization and Culture is not a Religion. It is a way of life. It teaches you so many things life, arts, science, And Answers.

Hindus keep idols and images of multiple gods in thier homes too visiting temples everyday is not possible for everyone, even if they have time they still want some alone time with God, where they worship god in the morning and evening both times, In my house we have a Ganesha idol made of white marble, Hanuman, Shiva,Ram,Laxmi,Maa kali etc, many more picture frames and small clay or plastic idols. Whether we buy a new smartphone, jwellery or a new car we first worship god and take their blessings before using it and celebrate various festival where we worship a God, like on janmashtami (birth of lord Krishna) we worship Krishna and on Diwali we worship Laxmi .

Rituals help remind daily things importance like water, milk, honey, curd, sadlewood, flowers etc More connecting to nature and their mprtancd in our life. Start day with interacting with love with God's and spread further in family, society..i Also creates good energy area in home. Human are used to outer viewing. Imagination need internal view that we are not used to. Interacting God idol state is much faster way connecting and very effective. Meditation takes practice connectinginternal world.

The most authentic scripture in Hinduism is vedas. Vedas completely rejects the idea of image and idol of god. It is clearly said that god is bodyless. If god is one, then who are thousands of gods that hindus refer to like Vishnu, Shiva, Krishna, Hanuman, Ram, and thousands more. Are these all one? "There is no image of him. He is unborned and He should be worshipped" (Yajurveda, Chapter 32, Verse 3) 'god is bodyless and pure' (Yajurveda, Chapter 40, Verse 8) "God is one and only, not a second" (Chandogya Upanishad, Chapter 6, Section 2, Verse 1) "Of him (God), there is no parents, no Lord" (Svetasvatara Upanishad, Chapter 6, Verse 9)

30:49 basically if you try to learn and understand HINDU CIVILIZATION AND HINDU CULTURE by trying to keep a clean slate/open mind/wanting to learn some new knowledge and not keep a pre-judged mind of notion, that it is some Magical blind belief form ‘religion’…., you might be able learn something like, More SANITY in life than Circling around Chaos and Creating Chaos because you consider you have no limitations, I need to have everything, I’m ultimate being on earth, and reflect that energy on everything you do & say and live your life. I said SANITY not in a insulting way, what I meant is, Human minds are capable only so much, so you need Limits, few rules, few knowledge, to get wiser Mind to Realize it is those limits & Control which will help your mind Comprehend things which it is limited to understand and understand. If you try to have more with egoist Nature which your Brain not equipped with, you won’t be able to Comprehend it and you will go INSANE with too much of informations ( like you are trying to put 2GB information into 1GB memory card😂) So humans need that limitation, control and balance in Life, body and mind to lead a SANE peaceful life.

एकं सद् विप्रा बहुधा वदन्ति- Ekam Sad Vipra Bahudha Vadanti ~ Rigveda Meaning: Truth(God) is one, wise men explain it differently. A westerner should be able to understand it with a story of Blind men and an elephant. A group of blind men who have never come across an elephant before and who learn and imagine what the elephant is like by touching it. Each blind man feels a different part of the animal's body, but only one part, such as the side or the tusk. They then describe the animal based on their limited experience and their descriptions of the elephant are different from each other. Person with limited experience will say, I have the absolute truth but A wise men will say all are right in their own way.

11:49 it’s called in simple meanings “ to manifest” enough People chanting certain Words repeatedly creates an ENERGY. to maintain the energy, enough people need to pray and chant and do certain offerings every day. Certain geometrical Carvings in stones and other material projects Energy and when you pray in front of it and circling the Murthy it reciprocates your energy with the Murthy’s which is made of stone/Metal. There’s whole another Mathematical Explanations for each and every Carvings, designs, Temple structures, Murthy Forms. I can’t explain it well since i don’t know exact sentences or Words to use to explain it. All of this explanations we hear it from our Mom, Grandparents or Very old People when we ask certain questions as kids when we do. “Mom why do we circle around the temple” this was one of the questions I asked when I was a kid. So mom explained that. Then each things we do to worship each god is different. Same god’s in different places different temples also will have different way of worshiping. For example the number of times you chant certain mantra or The number of times you circle the Temple etc. all of those have co-Relation with Churning energy by keeping the ‘BHOOGOLA’ The Core of Earth/Universe in the center of it all. What am basically trying to say is, everything in Hindu beliefs and Gestures has a lot of Mathematical, Scientific explanations, why it is done and done it in certain ways and certain number of times. Rather than blind faith or Magical things 😂

'See with your heart' and 'the idea suspend your mind' means to experience and feel the God. A person who bring in rationale and logic thinks that the God has to prove of his existence. And God who is not someone with ego who wants to prove himself. He transcends it and is in a state where he does not want to prove himself.

18:35 “Surrender yourself” it’s the ultimate form of letting go of your Ego and Superiority Complex that “ I know everything” mindset. If you never learn to Surrender yourself your mind, body to the the Higher energy you will always remain Ungrateful, Egoist and going to live the life with Superiority Complex of I’m the one doing everything and I’m the one who have control over everything…. And end up having the worst difficult life to live. Human Minds are only capable of so much to absorb & Comprehend. So when you live your life with a mindset of Superiority complex and full of Ego, whenever you fail, whenever you have difficulty in life and not able to Solve it you gonna give up on everything & depression,… etc because you believe you are the one controlling everything in your life, and you failed in it. Surrendering your mind, soul & Body to a higher being, Humbles you down to have Gratitude, empathy & Sympathy for other living beings, appreciate the life, people & things around you, because you know you didn’t get it all just only because of you, and start realize it is also coz your parents, friends, Support and love , your hard work and higher Energy’s blessing is why you are living a peaceful Productive Satisfying Life. ❤

lemme put it in a very simple way. For 500 years the saints kept telling everyone that beneath the surface of that mosque, there is a temple burried, which was dedicated to Lord Ram as his birth place (one of the most important hindu gods) which was destroyed by the Islamic invader. Everyone called them stupid, until very recently when the archeological department found the remains of the temple under the surface of mosque at that same location. So as you asked how people know about the looks of their gods, well that's bcz saints has been written down everything and also told their next generations. Even the Vaastu system of Hindus Jains, Bodhs, Indians Nepalis Tibetans and in many other Asian countries.

@30:18 that's where intention matters. And also, prana pratishtha done to the deities in temples are invoking God in that place in that form and that form is certified by vedic texts written by sages based on their realisation through divine vision and meditation. We can't invite God and God won't oblige to come and reside anywhere based on our whims wherever we ask. There is a respect, reverence, love, gratitude that involves when we invite God into a deity form. And there is also authorisation of that specific process by ancient self realised sages through their meditation ans spiritual practices that attest to the authenticity of those forms and processes. If we are also self-realized, and we have the divine eyes, then we can serve God in our own way without these rules and proceedures, as we will be in that elevated consciousness to know the truth of it. But Now, if we are nornal humans, only thing we'll experience directly is the serenity, peace, spiritual energy in the temples infront of a deity. And we are surely experiencing that spriritual vibrations in the temples, we know for sure that those temple architecture, alignment, deity worship, prana pratishtha installation everything had been done authentically and it actually works. A little initial faith, and then experientially our faith deepens after we experience it first hand.... Thus, the faith is no longer a belief (on mental level), but it's actually a consequence of perception of a deeper reality.
