I do hope Bounty hunting and Piracy are both things that compliment eachother more later down the road. I love the idea of running a whole squad of Vagabonds and trying to outwit a more experienced player who's out for our heads.

There is another way to escape the 20 km radius of the mantis, but a very very specific one. If you manage to reach the edge of the planetary grid (depicted in the snare planner) you can try to exit and reenter the planetary grid repeatedly. This will "teleport" you away from your pursuers like you would step on and off a carousel because you are rotating with the celestial body as long as you are inside its grid radius.

I've been interdicted a few times while running my Connie Androm. Usually I have a gunner and the few times that happened, rammed her into reversed and just kited. The turret covered our flank while they couldnt really "push" from the front. Would I have lived if I didn't have a gunner? Not likely... Not likely at all.

Just press B again to exit out of Quantum early. We don't need to power down. Good video A1. I think a lot of Citizens have been ignoring interdiction and the Mantis.

It also works without a scout. Simply fly a route. Include small detours and don't fly directly to where you want to go and you can avoid it nicely. But it's good that not everyone does this, otherwise we pirates would be unemployed.

I have found that if you get the interdiction notice...Decouple , fly past them, then turn and make them chase you while your guns bear down until they break off or you get out of the area

If you hold down your quantum key, it will also drop you out. No need to power off everything unless your are trying to be very precise. Great Video.

Can we get a guide to fly the Corsair, and to a lesser extent the Connie? I've been using mine for PvE bounties and racking up as much flight experience as I can in it since it will be my main ship for the foreseeable future so I would like a guide to fly these medium-large sized gun boats more effectively since they fly so differently than fighters and seem to require a different skill set. So, when you fire off the snare..how long does it last? Does the Mantis just fire the snare and hope someone was passing along that route at that moment? Or does firing the snare set up a 20km bubble that will persist until a ship in quantum is snared? Something else?

I'm surprised you didn't mention that if your in a larger ship put your thrust to maximum, set the cruise control and get out if the seat to man a rear turret. They may think the vessel is multi crewed and break off or you will be able to damage and or kill the mantis in pursuit.

can always just dogleg off toward some random lagrange point for a couple MM to throw off the approach angle of the selling destination. Thats what i usually do when im moving weight.

So say if someone is changing me and I am in the mantis and I deploy my dampening field, would I also be prevented from warping while my field is active? Also when the ship is pulled out of quantum is it on cool down for a certain amount of time or is that depending on the quantum drive it self? (Currently half way through the video)

@avenger1 I'm expecting the c1 spirit to be faster than the MSR. Do you think the c1 spirit will/might be able to outrun the cutty blue and/or mantis? If it can outrun the cutty blue but not mantis, then run until only the mantis is close enough to anchor you range and destroy it.

Hold "B" to stop QT mid-flight. It will drop you out where you are - unless heading to a point on the surface - and not result in needing to recharge shields as a full shutdown with "U" will.

When the mantis QED is deployed, it both pulls out of quantum and prevents quantum until the user turns it off (with an indefinite uptime) right?

Sometimes, depending on the skill of the mantis pilot, doing a 180 and charging straight a the Mantis will give you enough time to , while it turns around, get about 2k away and jump out, but that's a pretty big gamble. Get a decent pilot and that won't work, or they'll see it coming. (if you're ina big enough ship, just ram the thing, meaning, the Mantis)

in transit snares are good i like this. Cathing people actively mining or salvaging this is also good i like this. Catching people maybe doing deliveries is also good. OKAY SOOOO HERES THE POINT when gates come out like the gate to pyro if people can sit on the gate in an interdictor and catch everything that comes threw then im just go back to eve becasue its the same exact thing and if in 20years of space games they cant get rid of gate camping its makes more sense to play the more flushed out sim.......

re-watching this, because the F8 can now out-run the mantis... twice now we have had bounty stalemates were they couldn't jump, but also we couldn't catch up to do any damage.

I would like a solo mode like in ED so I can play the way I want without being bothered by the abused children... CIG is loosing sight of the fact that the vast majority are solo players who just want to enjoy the game without worrying about being ganked... Instead, CIG is going in the direction of Eve Online giving deliberate advantage to gankers which resulted in totally destroying new player retention... I hope CIG smartens up about it... 💥

What I don’t get is why people are just taking players hostage. They’ll solo this mantis or have a couple. And the only thing it has on large ships is mobility but no power to cut shields. In a Connie I’ve just done the flip and a burst and I get a few credits from call to arms. If your gonna do this, invest, have something there to be a threat. I say it that way because I’ve had friends trolled where it’s either backspace or logout. Nothing to steal, no bounty to be had, it just a ship with high shield and no or few pilot guns vs a mantis or two.

Well if we want to play properly, CIG needs to fix broken database and servers. Everything is so broken in 3.18.2.

huge problem that RSI do not let people set up their own jump marker becase you can shot a hole system down an everything that get it an out will not stand a chance vs a grup like eve online whare you just boble up a gate in 50 km all around there is no way out of it so risk vs reward do not favor anyone other then the Mantis an that grup not fair to set the system up that you can lock down a route from A to B like that.

This sounds hard to counter. I'm a new player and I'm playing solo. If I get caught hauling cargo it's game over? No counterplay? This just happened to me and there were 3 ships there waiting smack dab in the middle of two planets. I couldn't run to either planet, I couldn't fight. Just had to take the L. Lost all my cargo. I feel like that's kinda crazy to be stopped mid quantum flight, and suddenly you're surrounded and getting pounded by 3 ships. I feel like if enough people get caught by this, this is what everyone will resort to doing themselves, and then the game is no longer fun. You can no longer do your own thing, because you'll be stopped everytime you try to travel. It's just sleazy gameplay, I get why the devs might want to provide this avenue for pirates, but it's a little too much, no? If I just want to haul cargo, this is kind of insurmountable....

The EVE terms "point" and "bubble" aren't really appropriate. "Point" is EVE specific due to warp disruptor mechanics being based on the number of "points" disrupting a ship vs how many the ship can counter (not even remotely a thing in SC) and "bubble" is also because in that game you can literally deploy a large, static bubble to disrupt. We need SC specific terms for better FC, not rehashed crappy ones.

So basicly, if you get caught by a mantis it's game over, the only option left if you havn't got a formidable fighting force, max speed away decouple and hit selfdestruct and drift off... Jump ship or blow up with it... doesn't really matter. The mantis i hard to engage since it's fast, it depends on the skill of the mantis pilot I guess... But it will stay on like a tick and always out of reach for your weapons and in range to jam quantum at the same time.. They might have failed with the balancing giving it so much speed. especially that much speed while it's Quantum jammer is running. Personally I think it's Quantum jammer function should have forced it to deploy and become immobile, that way the pirate fleet has to do their job before their jammer gets killed. Or bring more jammers. Or at the very least slow them down considerably while jammer is engaged.

Good video, but about 15 minutes too long. You could distill this information down quite a bit. Lots of filler, lots of over explaining or repeating yourself. The information is great, just doesn't need to be almost 20 minutes long. Cheers for the next.

Teaching people how to interdict in game then pretending to have a kind heart in the real leaves me feeling how disingenuous you must be. Both positions are at odds with each other, in my mind.

You never explained how you know when someone is coming, to snare them and pull them out of quantum. Do you have some sort of special sensors? Or do you just wait for someone to blink into existence?
