James 1:18 - Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. 19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

I came here from the short, and as you may have noticed many people ask what your example of "shoved in Calvinistic teaching" is. I was hoping to find that context here, but I don't. So as the lowest ranked comment in the short said, don't be proud in your preaching.

Hi! May I know what Tim's referring to 51:35 about reformed and calvinistic teachings? As far as I know, not all reformed people have the same conclusions on certain subjects (e.g., covenant theology, eschatology, church government, baptism, etc.). Looking forward to your clarification. Thank you!

I can't speak for Tim as far as what specifics came to his mind when he made that statement, but yes, I imagine some of the examples you gave would be part of what he would share.

I have noticed that Tim seems to get softer as he gets older ( this is not a bad thing) I was wandering if @Illbehonest if this happens as we get more mature because I also see it in piper in Macaurthor

I would say that is definitely a factor, I remember watching one sermon by paul washer when he was much younger and a very similar one when he was older and both containing the same truth from the Lord but the delivery was softer and more meek not at all a negative just wonderful way to observe God’s grace and faithfulness in growing us
