As someone that recently underwent the procedure. I really enjoyed this discussion. However, I wished you would have delved in deep on how much time recovery usually takes, shared recommended practices for a faster and smoother recovery from a medical pov. I’ve heard there’s the blade & the ring method, discuss options and pros & cons for both. Otherwise you guys were amazing, continue with the good work you are doing🙌🏽

We will definitely delve into healing next time we talk about it. The ring method:Pros may include reduced bleeding and a shorter procedure, cons include incomplete removal of the device Surgical method:Pros include the precision of the procedure, cons include increased risk of bleeding and infection.

Even just for personal hygiene. I love it though not permitted in our culture. Me and my two boys are proudly circumcised.

@DrYvette traditionally, the Lozi culture doesn't subscribe to circumcision and there is a term used to despise a circumcised man 😂. But this narrative is slowly changing as people are becoming aware of the health benefits of it.

@DrYvette it is a mandatory procedure for Luvales, Mbundas, Chokwes, Luchazis and many in this lineage and they are plenty in all corners of Western Province. But for Lozis,, Kwandus, Kwandis and all the Aluyi descendants do not.

I've definitely learnt a lot. A question though, can a circumcised person still habour the HPV? If yes, what could be the reason?

Yes ,they can still have HPV because HPV is found on the skin including the skin of the scrotum.

@@DrYvette When you make the point that circumcision is beneficial because it allegedly reduces the risk for penile cancer, you are obligated, as a health professional, to clearly state that the literally thousands of times more effective intervention is a simple HPV vaccination.

As long as it is a consenting adult and not a chikd being forced agains their will. There is a line between mutilation and circumcision.

@@DrYvette Your interview partner said 0.2% of circumcisions end up with amputation of the penis, and you didnt even comment on it, while he brushed it off like that's nothing. That means that according to him 1 in 500 people will lose their penis soon after the procedure. Well, at least that explains an alledged reduction in STIs. I assume when you have no cock, you want catch a disease.
