Man! This explanation is soo good. I can't believe how can they explain it so well that any novice can understand it. I can see pure divinity in these maestro. It's not just like that they are in this position today. It's the 20 hours per day Riaz has just brought them so close to divinity

On the question raised at 1:03 in the video, I’d like to share a small perspective that makes sense to me. Although The 3rd Vibhag of Teentaal says DHA TIN TIN TAA, yet we mark the 9 as KHAALI is because MOST BOLS of that vibhag (3 out of 4) are played without dagga sound. And since 9 happens to be the start of that vibhag it signals a KHALI. Same logic can be applied to the last vibhag also. Although the 13th matra is a TAA (no dagga) yet it is called a TAALI because MOST BOLS of that vibhag (again 3 out of 4) are played with DAGGA sound. And since 13 happens to be the start of that vibhag, we show a TAALI.

It is worth noting that the hand signal of TAALI/KHALI is always on the first matra of the vibhag of all thekas.

KINDLY ELABORATE YOUR CONCEPT OF KHAALI AND BHARI GOING BY ETYMOLOGY, DICTIONARY, PRACTICE, MUSICAL CONTEXT, TRADITIONAL VALUES, ACADEMIC IMPLICATION OF KHALI AND MEANING OF WORD KHAALI. WHY ONLY TINTAAL OR FEW ALLIED TAALS MUST HAVE DHAA ON KHAALI WHEREAS ALL OTHER 'A FEW HUNDRED TAALS' HAVE NO DHAA ON REAL KHAALI EXCEPT ADDHAA, SITAARKHAANI OR PUNJABI. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE CONCEPT OF NIKAAS ON TABLAA, ZAKIR SAAHAB JUSTIFIES HIS VIEWS AND SAGACITY IN HIS POLITICALLY CORRECT REPLY.
