She’s not a racist at all

Saying "I'm not a racist" doesn't take away the unconsious bias. It's like saying that you don't like cheese as a dairy produt but you still eat ice cream, dairy is dairy regardless of what type of dairy product you eat. You don't have to be racist to have an unconscious bias.

Wow this storyline is so powerful I like it cause it sends a message...it's kinda ironic though cause of the issues backstage at Hollyoaks regarding racism so I wonder who wrote this story

Good thing Misbah educated Peri and that Peri made up to Martine. 2016-2018 Peri wouldn't have owned up to her mistakes. This is good character development.

well done, great episode!!! also peri is like one of those girls who kinda sound like ‘i have poc friends, i can’t be prejudiced’ anyway this was well written and finally we get a platform when they really show the micro-aggressions that black women face

Absolutely unprofessional....I'm a nurse and no matter conflicting appointment or not, I would have made away to have both of them seen, I would have called my senior nurse if need be, given the circumstances of the visit, while I don't believe it was racially motivated, Peri could have used better judgment

I havent watched Hollyoaks for years. These episodes have been excellent. We do a session at least once a month at work called 'Lets talk about race' Unfortunately it seems its the same people who attend. However, Getting this out to people at home will hopefully bring it to more uninformed people and eventually bring more change and conversation. There's a long way to go. However, if more soaps and mainstream put this sort of thing out, then there is hope for us yet.

Grace discovered her lump weeks ago, Martine only just discovered hers yet she got an appointment for the same day as Grace; how does that work???

I'm so grateful Hollyoaks did this storyline. If you had any idea how Black women are forced to behave its hideous. I work in an all white company and I have learnt to cry instead of voicing my opinion if someone has a go at me because anything less than tears is deemed aggressive. I've learnt to talk in a higher octave so my voice doesn't sound 'too Black' aka too aggressive. I've had to be quieter and more submissive to avoid any stereotypes and of course, like our mother's always taught us, work double as hard for half as much because they will accept their best as your average.

I get what Peri means when she said she’s not a racist. Take me for example I’m married to a Hispanic Male but his and all 5 of his Siblings Parents are Mexicanos but they still habla porquito ingles and they still understand when I habla ingles tambien but their Abuelita’s are both Mexicanos and they only habla and understand only Espanol but mi Esposo or his Siblings can always translate for me however every time when hear them hablano Espanol I get all “🤯” inside but just because I can’t understand what they’re saying doesn’t mean I’m a racist like our own Mother! 😠😠😠😠😡😡😡😡🤯🤯🤯🤯 She tried to teach all 3 of us how to be homophobic and racist back then but after Gram and Gramps took all of us in from a Foster Shelter they helped me change with my personality. I felt the last few episode of hollyoaks are really bad as it about non binary and black matters. If this is something that gonna be put in our face more then I wont be watching it much longer.
