Thank you! This is excellent timing. I just received my soil test report from Ward lab today and really didn't know how to read it. The comment written in the middle of the page is ...this soil is extremely high in soluble salts. Potassium and sodium are so high that I doubt anything will ever grow well in this soil. NCW Since I just paid to have this garden put in, this is extremely frustrating.. I guess all I can do is replace the soil again.. If you have any other ideas, I would sure like to hear them. Thank you.

the experience of Dr. Ward is no small matter but i cannot believe he starts with pH and then move on to the nutrients. you have to know how your pH is constructed and it can be constructed not just by lime but by potassium, magnesium, and sodium. your pH may be "ideal" but may still be low in calcium. that is first principles so unless he is talking about local conditions...if your pH is less than 6, you can take it up not just with lime and you can do it faster with smaller amounts with sodium because sodium which can raise the pH 4x than calcium can. someone do corrrect me if i am wrong...mygreathanks and blessings
