@@JamminJesters A Papyrus with Sans's line of thinking would be a threat as powerful as Sans. The only thing they don't share is the ability to dodge and use shortcuts, if I am not going crazy, there's a flavor text around Papyrus's room that says that he has a blaster thing stored somewhere in a box, meaning that the Gaster Blasters might be Papyrus's weapon, not Sans's.

I have more trouble with pap because I have less experienced fighting him and thus do not know his patterns. With sans only his final attack's final move "gaster blaster circle" gives me trouble, pap is still easy I'm just more likely to get captured by him than killed by sans.

Im... Speechless at how AMAZING this is, best swap sans battle animation 100%, the sprite is almost fully accurate to canon too, probablly the only small wrong detail is that sans does 5 damage when he's confrmed to only do 1 with KR, but everything else is basiclly perfect tbh.

This is what I think undertale should have been like. No, I don't mean sans and papyrus swapped, I mean just the overall quality of everything. Undertale is an amazing game but look at how dynamic this boss fight is. The custom background, the flash of the background to the music, and an extreme feeling of polish. This is what I feel Deltarune is heading towards, and I'm all for it.

Undertale could've been this, temmie is freaking good at pixel art, but I think Toby said that if the art was good then people would be expecting much from the game, I think he underestimated what he created and that's why undertale doesn't look good by pixel art standards

@@yam5412 i dont think it would've been much bigger, just a bit bigger, it would still be pixelart just a bit more detailed, like deltarune (tho that game kinda has 2 art styles, the lightworld has undertale size sprites for everything but the darkworld has BIGGER sprites for everything than the lightworld to add more details)

Honestly. While this is unlikely. I’d like to see an Underswap interpretation where even the methods of getting a bad and good ending are swapped. Like, fighting somehow gets you to pacifist route but ACTing somehow gets you to a Genocide/evil route. I have no clue how ACTing would work, but I feel like fighting could be changed to a way that shows honor. And rather then death after depleting someone’s HP, they’re simply defeated and you gain that persons respect, and perhaps even friendship. After all, in a real fight, trying to solve someone’s problem could be seen as mocking them. Not taking them seriously.

Acting could be an offensive move. Like for froggit, you need to compliment him normally, but what if you needed to insult him to deplete morale or ego instead of an hp bar?

@@slyuq that could work. Can’t imagine how that would lead to a bad ending though. My first immediate Edgy thought was that depleting their morale bar made them kill themselves. However, a better interpretation is that they become so upset that they end up doing something else that’s violent. Like attacking other monsters by accident, which leads to more and more conflict. In gameplay for instance, say there’s a froggit and a whimsun. Depleting froggit’s morale would make it upset and accidentally attack whimsun, which in response would fight back. Which would then make them damage each other until they actually defeat each other. This could lead to a bad ending where Chara ends up creating a war amongst Monsters themselves, the only problem with this is I have no clue how this could apply to boss monsters.

@@cantmakeacreativename2072 pull a Negative!tale and make them kill themselves on accident Example:for this case lets say US!sans(this one) is fighting, as the fight goes on he gets sloppy and if he is irritated he could inevitable hit a nearby tree while accidentally using a bone where he could not see the tree falls and kills the skeleton

i get that this is a take on canonswap, so if the characters have the exact same personalities as underswap, then i'll try to cook up a scenario. if you don't kill any monsters in snowdin, (you can literally slaughter anything in ruins for all he cares), sans will grant you an option to skip his fight through sparing, and lead you through waterfall where eventually alphys is met, and you'll automatically start the fight with her (triggering her fight this way can unlock an act for sans to reason with alphys, and thus let you spare her without having her chase you to her hometown; this isn't required to achieve true pacifist) if you instead attack sans, you'll initiate his fight, where he tries to persuade you into surrendering. regardless of whether you killed anyone, sans will still have karma. (no one is perfect in this world.). sans will always leave you on one health if you can't take the next hit. this will cause sans to bring you to alphys on 1 hp (not gud.) completing his fight and sparing him will cause him not to escort you to alphys, and to report his failures to her. completing his fight and killing him, will prompt dialogue from papyrus, as sans slides away from the screen, ending the fight. if you kill any, and i stress on ANY monsters in snowdin, sans's fight will not be skippable. sans will talk about the monsters you killed and have differing dialogue depending on your LOVE. note, sans is still spareable, but sans will be far too ashamed to face alphys, and head home. if you decide to be a lunatic and go for genocide, sans's karma will go up by one damage (meaning 2 damage per tick). sparing sans prompts him to threaten you, and repeating the spare several times will cause him to kill you. you still cannot die to sans (unless you spare him multiple times over) and he brings you to alphys in a rush. completing his fight and sparing him will cause him to run away, and lock the house. completing his fight and killing him will prompt a special scene to occur.

This is amazing 10/10 it really shows how strong swap actually is. I think most people at this point are sick of people thinking of swap as weak and small. He isn’t even that weak and might even be stronger than Alphys. I also like how it’s not too strong. He is still similar to classic papyrus after all and doesn’t over estimate his power. Because instead of making him disbelief level of strength it’s actually balanced

I like to think in Underswap that the lights flashing is a actual gameplay mechanic. Like, Monsters can make sudden bursts of light but at the cost that any attacks made during these blind spots do 0 damage. Could be used for some interesting riddles and mind games.

i think the people in the comments are confused in the game sans is not strong at all his only strong against evil opponents in a mercy run you would wipe him easily since you have s and he has 1 dmg papyrus is the one thats strong which is why swap is strong
