100% accurate Sans moveset. Originally designed for smash bros. The most important part of this character is his “energy/fatigue” gauge. Each and every action (including walking, crouching, and taunting) Sans does lowers the gauge. When the gauge reaches zero Sans falls asleep. The gauge is filled when standing/falling with no directional input or attacks. Additionally, all of Sans’s non-grab attacks deal 1% damage per frame and cause 0 knockback or hit-stun. Unless otherwise specified, all attacks have little to no start and end lag. Now for Sans’s specials: His neutral special will create bones moving in the direction the character is facing with a random chance of a bone being blue. The bone’s can bounce off walls and be spammed in rapid succession provided the energy/fatigue gauge is not empty. Blue bones only deal damage if they hit a moving opponent. Normally the bone’s are short, but holding the special button will increase their height. Sans’s side special will create a gaster blaster which fires a beam that can reach all the way to the blast-zone from anywhere on stage. The blaster itself has notable start-up lag, during which the player can input a direction, which will orient the blaster in said direction. The beam will then fire accordingly. The move can be spammed provided the energy/fatigue gauge is not empty. Up special- Possibly called “short-cut.” Can be angled in any direction and will teleport Sans accordingly (similar to Zelda’s up special). This move deals no damage and will put Sans’s in special fall. Down special is the most important move in Sans’s arsenal. Using it will cause Sans to switch between red and blue mode. These mode’s influence whether Sans’s normal attacks create a hurt box or wind box. Note that for blue mode, the edges of the wind box are visualized by a white border, akin to the battle box in Undertale. Now for Sans’s normal attacks (note that each normal attack has two variation, red or blue, which are determined by what mode Sans is currently in): Jab- In red mode will create bones that hit a small area in-front of Sans. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing away from Sans that affects a small area in-front of him. Forward tilt- In red mode will create a singular bone that hits a small area in-front of Sans. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing away from Sans that affects a small area in-front of him. Covers more space horizontally than jab. Does not cover much vertical space. Up tilt- In red mode will create moving bones that hit an area in-front and above Sans. The bones move vertically up, starting at Sans’s feet. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing upwards, that affects an area in-front of Sans. Covers slightly more space vertically than jab. Does not cover much horizontal space. Down tilt- In red mode will create moving bones that hit a small area in-front and behind Sans. The bones move vertically down. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing downwards that affects a small area in-front and behind him. Neutral aerial- In red mode will create moving bones that hit a small area around Sans. The bones move away from Sans. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing away from Sans that affects a small area around him. Forward aerial- In red mode will create a bone that hits a small area in-front of Sans. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing away from Sans that affects a small area in-front of him. Back aerial- In red mode will create bones that hit a small area behind Sans. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing away from Sans that affects a small area behind him. Up aerial- In red mode will create a moving bone that hits an area above Sans. The bone moves vertically up, starting just above Sans’s head. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing upwards, that affects an area above Sans. Down aerial- In red mode will create moving bones that hit an area below Sans. The bones move vertically down, starting at Sans’s feet. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing downwards, that affects an area beneath Sans. Dash attack- In red mode will create moving bones that hit an area in-front of Sans. The bones move horizontally forward, and are as tall as Sans is. In blue mode will create a weak wind box blowing forward, that affects an area in-front of Sans. Now for Sans’s smash attacks (as with his normal attacks, each smash attack has two variations): Forward smash- In red mode will create a stack of bones that hits an area in-front of Sans. The longer the move is charged, the more distance is covered horizontally (shown by the bones being longer when fully charged). In blue mode will create a strong forward blowing wind box that affects the area in-front of Sans. The longer the move is charged, the more distance is covered horizontally. Up smash- In red mode will create a row of bones that hits an area above and to the immediate sides of Sans. The longer the move is charged, the more distance is covered vertically (shown by the bones being longer when fully charged). In blue mode will create a strong upwards blowing wind box that affects the area above and to the immediate sides of Sans. The longer the move is charged, the more distance is covered vertically. Down smash- In red mode will create at least two bones, one on either side, that move downwards. In red mode the longer the move is charged, the larger the number of bones that are created. In blue mode will create a strong downward blowing wind box that affects the sides of Sans. In blue mode the longer the move is charged, the larger the area that is affected. Due to his moves causing no knockback, Sans possesses limited kill options outside of gimping with blue mode wind boxes. To compensate, all of Sans’ throws can kill at a high enough percent. Up, back, forward, and down throw each KO at around 100-150%. As his throws are his best kill option, Sans’s grab range is about as long as Min Mins, with equal vertical height. Additionally, Sans is capable of using his specials while grabbing an opponent, as well as being able to grab an opponent while in the air. Down through has a meteor affect when done in the air at 60%. Minor details that could improve the character: The low damage output of 1% per frame could be compensated with a mechanic similar to “karma” from Undertale, which is also used by Sans. When sleeping, instead of producing bubbles Sans could instead make little ZZZs like he does near the end of his fight. Sans’s gauge could remain unaffected during the first seconds of a match, representing his “strongest attack” that occurs at the start of his fight in Undertale. His final smash could be the circle of Gaster blasters that appear towards the end of his fight in Undertale. If Sans needs to be balanced, then all you would have to do is change how much of his meter is drained by each action, no changes to hit boxes or anything. TLDR; Megalovania
