"Asgore became a ruler that was feared by many" the opposite is the case. He was loved by his kingdom. Man quite literally hopes to lose and even offs himself so that you can escape.

TBH, Alphys belongs very late in good or very early in neutral. She just wanted to grow trust with the human and the amalgamates were accidents.

Personal rankings: GOOD (Those that are all-around genuinely good people.) 1. Papyrus: No-brainer. Papyrus' kindness and purity knows no bounds, even showing mercy to Frisk during the genocide run. 2. Monster Kid: MK is a good-hearted kid, who's heroic enough to stand up to Frisk in the genocide run. 3. Napstablook: Naptsablook just chills. 4. Alphys: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Alphys' actions are very scuffed, but none of it was really her fault. Her own anxiety lead to her only real crimes, lying about it, and hiring Mettaton to torment Frisk. Overall though, she's very clearly a good person who wants nothing more than to please. NEUTRAL (Those that are good deep down but have serious flaws, or are jackasses with notable redeeming qualities) 5. Toriel: Toriel is a caring mother who clearly wishes the best for her children. However, she definitely has some issues. She's far too overprotective, failed to effectively do anything about ASGORE, and tried to, lets be real here, kidnap a child. Good intentions, bad execution. ???. Frisk: True neutral. Has the capacity to be absolutely good or evil. 6. ASGORE: ASGORE is, in most circumstances, one of the nicest monsters in the underground. He's beloved by all monsterkind, is unendingly patient and willing to talk, and just generally a big fuzzy pushover. However, he does have the dark side of his war with humanity. Although his outburst in the moment was justified, he did implicitly need to, held back instead of attacking, and, frankly, if there was any acceptable reason to commit genocide, it would be that. However, *there is not.* His reasons do not change the fact he declared intention to kill an entire sentient species, and followed through. No matter how reluctantly he did it, he is still guilty of genocide. 7. Sans: Sans is kind of a dick. He never really gives any reason to believe he cares about anyone but Papyrus, Toriel, and Frisk in the pacifist route, and even that's pushing it considering, well, telling a small child that, from their perspective, is their friend that he would have killed them on sight is. Yikes. He clearly has reasons why he's like this, but honestly, he really isn't a good person. 8. Undyne: Undyne is fierce, loyal, and fights unendingly for the good of her friends and her people. At heart, she's a good person. She's also a racist, genocidal hypocrite that told a small child that they were better off dead. Seriously, she was a complete and utter scumbag to Frisk in the pacifist run, and she never apologizes for any of it. And no, she isn't a hero on the Genocide Route either. The difference between the world and humanity may as well be a rounding error. In conclusion: She's a good person, but is very capable of committing atrocities with a smile. 9. Mettaton: Mettaton is a total dick. His drive for fame and to entertain is so great that he seems willing to do anything for it, no matter who it hurts. He does seem to care about Alphys and Napstablook, but not enough to stop him from hurting them: unless, of course, He's given a reality check. Even then, he reacted badly to losing Alphys in his neutral ending. Jesus Christ, Mettaton. However, what little morals he does have, he defends fiercly, shown by him being one of only two characters to actually oppose ASGORE's plan, even being willing to risk his life on the Genocide Route for the slightest chance to protect humanity. 10. Chara: Chara needs so much therapy. After (presumably) fleeing heavy abuse on the surface, they grew attached to the Dreemur family, and grew resentful (read: genocidal) towards humanity for what they did to them and monsterkind. However, even though they clearly cared, what we know from how they interacted with Asriel is. . . less then stellar. They used their abusive connection to psychologically manipulate him into carrying out a plan to destroy humanity in a nasty parallel to the Snowgrave route, and once they realized Asriel didn't have the heart, tried to take over his body and do it themself. This failed too, and they woke up to Frisk's determination, and, questioning if they were really the bad guy, decided to follow their lead. From there, they either learn the error of their ways or double down on it. By the end of pacifist they could be considered a good person, but otherwise? Yeah, no. EVIL (People that are jerkasses without many any notable redeeming qualities) 11. Mad Ghost: She is, well, a mad ghost. Enjoys taking her dysphoria out on small children. I'm sure she's not a bad person, but she doesn't feature enough to tell. 12. Muffet: Greedy murder bitch. PURE EVIL (People who have zero redeeming qualities whatsoever.) 13. Flowey: No brainer. He's committed countless atrocities, traumatized the hell out of Frisk, and has probably done every single evil thing you can think of that's possible in an underground magic bubble. He has his whole tragic backstory, but that only explains it: his actions were still his own, even without the capacity to feel.

I feel like Papyrus should’ve gotten the gold medal. While he can beat you up and throw you in a shed, it’s obvious he doesn’t want to kill anyone. Even in the Genocide Route, he still tries to redeem you, even after you kill him. Toriel on the other hand divorced Asgore, and made a poor decision to lock up the exit to The Ruins.

I think papyrus is purer than Toriel because she left the kingdom when it needed her most because she was selfish, papyrus even after frisk litterally decapitates him still doesn’t blame them for murdering him and says they can do better

I don't agree with Toriel being the best character morally. I think Papyrus and Toriel should've switched places. Sure, Papyrus willingly fights you and even mentions finding enjoyment in duels, but he wouldn't actually kill anyone. Toriel shows a darker side when you realize certain things about her mindset. She prioritizes human children above her own people and shames Asgore for the way he collected souls in pacifist, but then proceeds to give an even worse plan. And I quote "You could've just collected one soul, gathered 6, and then came back to break the barrier." She's implying that he openly murders humans in front of people and then come back. THEN try and make peace with them afterward. This is just plain stupid and she knows what happened to her child. Asriel didn't even kill anybody and humans tore him to shreds. Does she expect them to treat Asgore differently if he DID kill people? She casts blame on people for their actions in a situation where regardless of their actions, people will be unhappy. Abandoning her kingdom and guilting a man who is already suffering as is makes her worse than Papyrus but that's just my opinion

Frisk is the only character in this list that could be put in both the good,netural,and evil sections

I think Papyrus should take the Gold. Toriel is a sweetheart and all, but she still sort of bailed on her kingdom for a long time. She could have suggested her own solution she gives near the endgame WAY sooner.

Don't forget that Flowey and Asriel are the same person and anything Flowey does is because he lacks a soul. However, in the end, Asriel redeems himself by breaking the barrier and freeing the monsters like the prophecy foreshadowed and returning the souls he stole even if it meant he had to turn back into a soulless flower. And for his backstory, we see that, before his "death" and reincarnation into Flowey, he was a kid with good morals. He welcomed Chara with open arms and he even refused to harm any humans even if it meant death.

I'd say Asriel was more evil than Asgore. He didn't want to let go of the past and would damn everyone to stay in the Underground forever by resetting over and over again, until Frisk finally taught him to let go. His time as Flowey and being with Chara certainly played a part in the old mentality, but even with the power of 7 souls, he still acted wrongly. Willing to kill Frisk forever and ever, pretending they're his old friend. Asgore himself even says, "Truthfully... I do not want power. I do not want to hurt anyone. I just wanted everyone to have hope." His hand was forced by the slip of his tongue after Chara and Asriel's death, and he had to live with the consequence, or else risk being overthrown or killed by his own kind. Certainly doesn't make it any more right, but killing a minimum of 7 is better than killing or keeping an entire race trapped intentionally forever when one has the power to help fix things.

Honestly it 's both funny and creepy how most of the characters are pretty good and even the ones in the Bad tier are barely evil - Asgore, the "winner" of silver medal of evil isn't an evil person. His bad deeds are caused by his grief and good intensions and he has so many good qualities about him that it makes him one of the most sympathetic villains in gaming. And then comes Flowey. Btw you spelled his name incorrectly

Papyrus is honestly a better character than Sans. I know the laid-back older skeleton brother is more popular in Undertale, but still Papyrus deserves alot of respect for being determined to capture a human, even if he has never been successful with that dream of catching one. He has a good heart, and even if he thinks puns are annoying that's what makes him enjoyable in the game. His song bonetrusle is a great catchy song, and it sounds a bit Italian. He's my favorite character in Undertale, though Sans is still a close second.💀💙❤🦴

Mettaton wasn't really programmed to kill the player, he just acted for Alphys to help her. He just wanted a body, which Alphys gave to him. The only situation there's any real danger for the player is during the main boss fight where he opposes the plan so he can have the fight. He also opposes genocide (As it would hurt his viewership), including humans. This is mostly from what I remember. thouvh

Asgore should be in good section since most of the bad things he did are easily justifiable such as killing 7 children instead of going out to the surface to kill some random humans the reason for him not doing that is because of how strong humans are i mean frisk managed to kill the entire underground while being a kid

No! This list is all wrong! Papyrus is more godd than Toriel, he Is on the pure good wiki and Toriel Is an heroic benchmark, Asgore Is no way evil! He's just misunderstood! And Flowey Is empty and without a soul, of course he's evil, it's called having moral agency issues.

This was....a weird list to say the least especially in the bad tier. Like I definitely wouldn't give silver rank of evil to Asgore. Yeah his actions are extreme but he is still geniuely nice and polite to you and felt like there was no other way to save the monsters (I think they forgot that almost ALL monsters love Asgore even Papyrus refers to him as a "big stuffed bear" or something like that). And I know it's complicated but Flowey and Aserial are the same person so they should be ranked together

I'm surprised you put Toriel as the first ethical character after learning what she bashed her ex-husband about in the pacifist run. To me, her idea of a solution would have actually started another war between humans and monsters, and she was very hypocritical in front of the human, and that's without mentioning how she never picks up your phone calls once you leave the ruins.

Papyrus deserved the most good because Toriel actually kills you although she does look horrified when she does kill you. Papyrus on the other hand never kills you, In fact, he saves you when you are almost dead and when you lose to him a couple times he lets you pass

Sans isn't exactly gluttonous. Also he isn't lazy "just cos" he is depressed since he knows or believes that ultimately what he does doesn't matter since it will all be reset

I love how most characters have some complex story behind them and then there's Flowey

Personally, I'd rank it a bit more like 1. Papyrus - Doesn't have an evil bone (heh) in his body. Doesn't kill, has no body count, and doesn't recognize the threat monsters pose to the human. 2. Monster Kid - Similar to Papyrus, and too innocent to do real harm. Probably would rank about the same, but Papyrus actively tries to help more. 3. Napstablook - Pretty much is only in conflict with the player on accident, before eventually actively helping. Less naive then Paps, but still overall a good dude. 4. Asriel - Before Flowey. A kind-hearted kid, who got himself into a terrible situation. Pretty much only complied with Chara's plan out of love for his sibling, and refused to kill when they went to the surface to collect souls. Unfortunately corruptible by apathy and time. 5. Undyne - Loud and ironically hot-headed, but undoubtedly good at heart. Was willing to kill, but only out of desire to see her people go free and prejudice. After that prejudice was shattered, she lost any desire to kill the human. Also tends to go to great lengths to help her friends, with Papyrus being the best example of this, as when it was obvious he wouldn't be a capable soldier, she taught him another trade (with mixed results) just to make him happy and try and help him find his calling. Finally, in Genocide she defies her own biology and gains access to determination to fight a battle she knows well that she's going to likely die fighting, and puts in her everything just to buy time for her comrades. My personal favorite character. 6. Alphys - Alphys is the living embodiment of good intentions but bad execution. Researched tirelessly to find a way to break the barrier, and while responsible for creating the Amalgamates, did so on complete accident and had no prior metric for what would've happened. The amalgamates were also terminally ill monsters, and Alphys clearly was trying to help them recover. She's not wholly good either, though. The body she made for Mettaton was originally intended as a weapon, she intentionally hid the Amalgamates' status due to personal insecurity, and wasn't above manipulating and lying to not only the human, but her friends as well for personal ends. If she had any other hostility towards humans at all, she'd probably rank lower. 7. Frisk - Perfectly neutral, whose morality hinges on the player's choices. Has unknown motives for visiting the Underground, though if similar to Chara implies a rather somber tale. Frisk's willingness to live with Toriel and general apathy regardless of route implies a generally disconnected view of reality and lack of a proper home, or at least a good one. 8. Asgore - He'd rank higher in Deltarune. Has genuine good intentions to free his people and knows the lengths he has to take to do so, but takes absolutely no pleasure in it and sees himself as undeserving of mercy for what he's done. He loved his children dearly, and only declared war on the humans out of grief and rage. The guy has not an ounce of malice. The only thing putting him this low is the body count. 9. Toriel - I personally think Toriel is less clean then she seems. While extremely kind and caring to Frisk and her children, she seems to adopt a prejudice against most other monsters bordering on racism, even if mostly out of fear. She also seems to care more for children then humans in general, as when meeting with Asgore in True Pacifist, instead of berating him for killing the humans that fell, instead berates him for not employing Chara's strategy of absorbing one soul, crossing the barrier, and harvesting the other 6. I won't deny that she is a genuinely good person, but her priorities are sketchy. 10. Sans - Morally dubious, but has the right idea. While he did protect the human up until Genocide, he only does so only to fulfill a promise to Toriel. Also seems to care almost exclusively for Papyrus, as his tone in the Neutral ending hinges almost entirely on whether or not Papyrus is alive. Still has a sense of morality, as he is genuinely honest and fair to the human, and is trusting enough to confide on Frisk. 11. Gaster - Even more dubious then Sans. Hard to tell whether he has or had an ulterior motive or if he just likes throwing eggs at people, if Deltarune is to believed. The assumed creator of the DT Extractor, his study into souls and determination is implied, so he was definitely getting his hands dirty at one point. Not much to go off of from there, however. 12. Chara - Frisk's own personal Casper. As a disclaimer, I'm more going by Chara's attitude and actions before death. I personally believe that Chara is the narrator and has a variable outlook on things depending on your route. In Geno, Chara is a destructive psychopath, but changes for the better in True Pacifist, and only hijacks the ending in Post-Geno as a means of punishing the player. Seems to have a penchant for revenge and accountability, and likely lived a shitty life prior to meeting the Dreemurs. Chara's morality is still sketchy, though, despite likely having a reason. Chara still manipulates Asriel into the plan to harvest souls from humans on the surface, with full intent to kill. What sets Chara apart from Asgore, however, is that Asgore was only killing humans due to his subjects' demands, and was still extremely reluctant. While also for the good of monsterkind, Chara also likely wanted personal revenge on the human race. Not fully evil, but troubled and vengeful. 13. Mettaton - Vain and a massive prick, Mettaton is the first character I'd classify as actively malicious. Cares almost exclusively for himself alone and mostly wants to kill the human to use their soul for his own ends, rather than to break the barrier. Mettaton's only silver lining is the care he shows for Napstablook and Alphys, as well as his last vain stand against the human in Genocide. 14. Muffet - Muffet, like Mettaton, is extremely selfish. Works for Mettaton as a mercenary, and only has a soft spot for her fellow spiders. Is really only interested in money and vanity, and only leaves the player alone after you either pay her off or have proof of goodwill for other spiders. 15. Flowey - Pretty obvious. Kills just to see what would happen and actively encourages violence on your part. Slimy and two-faced, manipulates several characters into doing his bidding, and likes to play god just for fun. 16. So Sorry - just kill this fucking thing

Muffet I would say is top 3 most evil. She prioritizes money over letting the underground survive. Her dialouge in the genocide route shows Alphys was gonna fully evacuate/seal things off but waited for Muffet but she refused to go, allowing the genocide route to be successful.

Good list, but I think that: Asgore would be very lower, it's not evil, it's sad for his action and in his fight he is flickering, for his remorse, and he attacks only thinking to his people and their hopes and dreams and he know that this is not the right way Alphis would be lower, she tried to save monsters lives and amalgamates were only mistakes and she cares of them. She lives with regrets and was too afraid to do anything, but in some neutral she become a good leader and helped to evacuate. Her only mistake is wanting Mettaton to try to kill the human to have brave, but no traps could kill him. Asriel would be lower because he helped Chara after the death without killing people, god of hyperdeath his Flowey in Asgore body. Undyne would be a bit higher, in much neutral she overthrow the queen and institutes a regime to killing humans and it's very angry with you only for being human. Chara is a bit higher his very charge of hate and this with human soul and determination destroys everithing and even in pacifist. Muffet it's a bit higher, she's Flowey friend and too greed. Mettaton it's very very VERY lower, in genocide he sacrifice his life to fight you even if he know you're too stronger only for help Alphis to save lives, it's not worried for himself and he cares about humanity and he think there is good inside you. His pacifist action are for Alphis and fans. Sans his LOWER. He knows everything and want to save you from your hate. He is lazy because he know resets and probably without this he could have determination. He his a good brother and attack you only if his very necessary. Flowey it's higher that the first place. Finally, someone who acknowledges that Chara could have been influenced by the player in the genocide run. Chara was a human child that climbed Mt. Ebbot for unhappy reasons, and disliked humanity, possibly because they were treated poorly. The actions they took were in an attempt to help monsters, hoping to give Asriel the chance to get human souls to break with barrier with, and then their plan backfired. Years later, the player falls and their determination has enough power to bring back Chara. It's implied that they are the narrator describing things to you. My thinking with them is that they are simply impressionable, because they are a child. In pacifist, they are influenced to be nice. But in genocide, the player is influencing them to think that way. They ask where the knives are, they say "free exp" when the player encounters Monster Kid, and towards the end they help the player kill Sans, Asgore, and Flowey by attacking for the player. They are influenced to think that killing everyone, including those they grew close to when they are alive. And then the ending with them wanting to erase the world, if the player says 'erase' its telling them that it's okay. But if the player says 'do not', the player is telling them that they did all of that for no good reason. And then there's how they react when the player tries to come back after a genocide run, they make a deal with the player and take their soul in exchange for restoring the world, and they permanently corrupt any following pacifist runs, sort of like karma for what the player has done.

Not gonna lie, you missed some really important things in this video. Asgore for exemple dislikes his own plan. He created it to spark hope in the monsters, not to acctually take over the world. He destroys the mercy button because if they didn't fight the monsters would probobly hate them both and Undyne would become the leader of the underground and kill every human. Undyne is one of the best people in the underground, she fights for her friends and never gives up, which is seen while killing her in a neutral run. (Edit) BTW Chara tried to kill asgore with buttercups and manipulated Asriel, i do not think chara is neutral

Asgore isn't evil. He just do it for his people. He also hate killing. You can see it in his reactions he really hate it. Undyne is actually the one who kills and actually loves it she loves killing.

I think the only one who should really be in the evil section is Flowey and Asriel boss fight form. It is because they both simply doesn’t have a soul, it’s not either of their faults. I pretty much just judge if someone is good or evil based on their intentions. Good intentions and good actions, they are good. Good intentions but bad actions, neutral. Bad intentions and bad actions, bad/evil. Soulless: Only then is it true evil. Alphys is really interesting. The cameras are interesting, I think it might because she wants to see someone happy, since she seems to a some sort of depression. I think the reason she tried to make everyone think that she is a hero is because she wants someone to like her, since she seems to feel like nobody does and nobody ever will. She probably created the Amalgamates under Asgore’s orders. And Mettaton seems to care a little bit about Napstablook. A little bit. Maybe not as much as he could care about them. Mettaton, you know how much Nabstablook needs you. Don’t abandon them for popularity. Seriously. (Also Napstablook is non-binary, not a boy. I think.) (Edit) Also Asriel still don’t have a soul when he was trying to take over the universe and was the God of Hyperdeath, (I think) when is back to normal he is himself. Don’t judge the soulless God of Hyperdeath. Judge Asriel. (Edit #2) And for Mettaton, Alphys just made Mettaton a body to inhabit, she didn’t program him. Mettaton was trying to help Alphys, and make everyone think she was a hero to make her feel better about herself. (Edit #3) Oh shit I put Mettaton on here twice. Sorry for making this so long.

10:30 Mettaton isnt evil, he doesnt even want to destroy humanity, he wants your soul so he can go entertain the humans, with his arc coming back to him realising that the people of the underground love him and that its best for him to stay

I think the only truly evil characters in this franchise are Flowey and the Chaos King Sure, the Chaos King is just corrupted, and it's said that he is a good guy, but he refuses Ralsei's offer to join the good side, and he even acts as a jerk in jail. Flowey is just pure evil. In the genocide route, he says to stop killing because he's scared and because he knows that frisk is gonna kill him. After all, he's aware of the timelines and the save files. He's always trying to get someone (or even him) killed just to makr you gain love and to prove he was right about you.

I'd interchange Papyrus and Toriel, as Toriel's worst sin is actually leaving Asgore in the worst stage of his life, when he needed emotional support and a voice of reason. If she didn't leave him, Asgore might not have even begin collecting the Souls. And Papyrus is just too pure to not be the most goof character.

People may not like what I have to say, but I think that ASGORE should go into the neutral section. I mean, sure, he killed the six other humans, but he knows what he did was wrong. He doesn’t want to fight you, after all he’s done. He takes away the mercy button not because he wants you to fight with him, but because he thinks he doesn’t deserve any mercy. It almost seems like he wants you to kill him. Asgore lost both of his children and his wife, one because of his actions. He’s not evil, he’s majorly misunderstood and portrayed as evil. And, get this, in one of the neutral endings (under certain circumstances) he, to fulfill a prophecy, kills himself with a smile on his face. 😢

I don't think Asgore is bad per se, but he is motivated by many things. He declared he would kill any human who falls into the underground in his grief when he lost Asriel and Chara. Later he came to realize just what that entailed, and it made him very regretful of that act. He doesn't fight the player out of malice, but because he feels he has to so he can free his people. He can't even bring himself to face you during the fight with him because he feels so much sorrow for having to kill you, and shame that he has to force himself to attack you. Behind all that grief, sadness, cowardice, and almost-unkeepable promise-making is a loving, kind father figure who just wants peace, quiet, tea, and a person to have a friendly chat with.

Mettaton should have taken the pride medal. In the neutral routes, he kills anyone who does not like his performance and makes everyone worship him.
