I don't like the character either, that's why I don't put her

I am aware that this is a semi old comment but anyway, personally my only gripe with Toriels character is that she left a depressed and grieving man to shoulder an entire kingdom on his own and acted like it wasn't her problem.

​@@shslnobody1070 I repost what I once posted on Reddit: She is the greates Hypocrite in the game. She blame Asgore for everything. Yes, he did horrible things. But guess what. Nothing of the child murders would have happend if she just didn't run away like a crybaby. Asgore and Toriel both lost their children. Both had a hard time to deal with it. Asgore, THE KING, still had to do his duty in giving his people hope. He did this by declearing war and the method of collecting 7 human souls. Toriel did. . . . run away. The QUEEN of the Underground, in the darkest and most difficult times since they entered the Underground, did nothing but run away give a HUGE "F You" to all the citizens. I understand this action if she were just a mother but not as a Queen. And even if she exiled herself. She should know Asgore the most. NO ONE on the Underground say ANYTHING negative about him except her. She should know that the lost of his children make him so angry that he act out of emotions/impulse. Okay, let's her exile herself. After a few days, maybe a week, maybe a month, maybe a year (they don't age after all), heck, at the latest when the first fallen child after Chara come around. She could have left the Ruins, go back to Asgore and talk in quite about the situation. She could have easily prevented all of this and the method is not far fetched. Asgores lonelines in a place where his whole family disappeared trapped his mind in this idea. Toriel could have easily talked him out if this. (I mean, look how easy she did it in true pacifist where he already killed 6 humans). And this is just the part with Asgore. The first encounter in the ruins with a Froggit, what did she do. She come into the fight with a facial expression that looks like "Dare attack the human. DARE!" INSTEAD of striking a friendly conversation like "hey Froggit, this is a human child and my new Child. Could you be so nice and tell the other Monsters about them". In the ruins a valid option since they don't know anything about capturing humans and the collection of human souls. The Froggit next to the entrance to the Toy Knife told us, that they're "intimidated" by her? Why. Why are they're intimidated by her when no other monster is intimidated by Asgore. She literally forces us to stay with her in Home. If we try to leave, she burn us alive to 10% (or lower) of our max HP. Nearly killing someone for their "safety" don't look like a good idea. Imagine you break some of your children bones so they won't visit a friend who's dealing with drugs. She is overall a kind hearted person, but her actions speak a different language.

@@SryBut that's somewhat how I see it she has good intentions but just go's about it in the worst way possible (and her morals are questionable) but she is kind hearted being like the rest of monsters but, at the end of the day we move past the fact that Asgore is a serial killer (despite his reasoning he still killed children), Sans threatened us "you'd be dead where stand." Alhpys who manipulated us and Undyne for trying to kill us just for existing "human your continued existence is a crime." So at the end of the day Torial deserves forgiveness too.

@@shslnobody1070 Yes. But the other ones all accepting their mistake and learned from it. Except sans. But it's hard to tell if he was just joking in his own "humerus" way. At least he say he was just joking. Toriel doesn't. Thats the big difference.
