Why is everyone talking about the game's fandom. I understand it may not be the best fandom ever created but can we all focus on the brilliant idea this man created? Everyone is really stearing away from the point of the video.

Toby hates violence, yet he worked on homestuck, where every main character dies

I think it started with the idea of non violence, but evolved onto something elese. What we're playing *is* Toby. He put down his enrire personality into the game, he made every response for every action perfect. He has said that he thinks his own opinion about the games moral is irellvant, I think this means the game doesn't have a real moral. But it works as in real life, so we have many lessions to learn from it about real life. That's what I would say atleast.

Thank you for actually mentioning Homestuck. It's a definite part of Undertale, and I always feel a little melancholy when people go over the history of Undertale without at least giving lip service to one of the main reasons Undertale was even possible.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Touhou at all because Toby is a huge Touhou fan! Many of his songs are heavily influenced by Touhou's soundtrack and soundfont even. Plus the whole bullet hell mechanic was probably added because of love for Touhou. A lot of Asriel's patterns reference Marisa Kirisame's patterns (they both have rainbow lasers and lots of star shaped bullets) and one of them is basically a copy of [Light Sign "Earthlight Ray"].

Sans and "Megalovania" making appearances, both in Smash as deluxe Mii Costume set, and a costume and stage entrance for Kenny Omega of AEW Wrestling. All from a small project, he didn't think would go that far.

I don't think Toby was an extremely mushy person like he's described to be in this video. He's more of a humorous and outgoing person, and plus, he just liked the feature in Shin Megami Tensai, he thought it was cool and interesting, this video makes him sound like an activist, who was disliking of the idea of fighting in games (which if was true, he wouldn't like Earthbound so much). I believe he was perfectly okay with fighting, genocide, and grinding in RPGs and that's why he made such a cool and interesting story line with that idea.

Wow... If Toby was in front of me, I would thank him. Thanks to him and Undertale, I met wonderful friends, I found out about the amazing fandom. Undertale kept me going. It helped me get through all of the suffering I had this year. Seems stupid... Hm? Having its depression vanquished by a game. But that's the way things were and are. Honestly, I don't regret it.

The funny thing is, undertale came to Toby’s mind when he received a rude comment.

I know many people shit on Undertale's graphics, but I honestly think its designs for the characters and areas are beautiful. Very "clean", very standard and you can always tell what you're looking at. It doesn't have much detail, but it's not shit either. And I absolutely love that about the game. For example, even though Earthbound has more details in its designs, I absolutely DESPISE them. I don't know why...

The idea of these videos is great, and the illustrations are well done! Definitely keeping an eye on this.

Though he did make a game about love and acceptance, he also made an Earthbound rom hack that was absolutely fucking terrifying and had very detailed, specific descriptions of horror and gore. But other than that, he seems like a pretty chill guy... But he does have a knack for really specific descriptions of horror. Take the True Lab as an example. He should make a psychological horror game, I guarantee it'd be absolutely terrifying. I love learning about game developers, because once you know their past you see them as people. And I honestly kind of find him relatable. He's kind of just a guy who likes RPGs like Earthbound and Mother 3, and it shows in Undertale. The final boss was just as emotional as Mother 3's boss, and Omega Flowey resembled Gygas in a weird way. He also uses a lot of the sound fonts from the Mother games, as well as many others. It's very interesting and inspiring. And despite what people say, I love this fandom. People hate the game because it's popular. The fandom is actually pretty good in my opinion. It seems very welcoming, it has good animations, comics, music remixes, and other amazing fan creations. Even some fan games! I love the game and other people do too. Honestly the amount of porn a game gets shows how popular it is. If people like your game enough to make porn of it, then you've done a good job. But seriously Asriel and the final boss of Mother 3 are very similar.

From a simple idea to one of the best games ever created. A game that had inspired almost everyone to approach things from a different perspective, a game that taught us that violence is never the answer, a game that showed us that with genuine love and determination, you can overcome anything, a game that taught us that you can live peacefully without violence hence why..... Kimmy Jong Un needs to play this game.
