Underwater Camera on Dungeness Crab Pot 100'+ deep Bodega Bay Lingcod/Crab combo

Its Friday, the week after Dungeness Crab season opened. I am trying to get some crab before the weekend rush. Commercial season does not start for a few more weeks, I am liking my chances for some more big ones. While the pots soak you head to the rocks for lingcod!

I go to Doran all the time, and often out to Bodega Head, but I haven’t gone crabbing at Spud Point in a bit... super cool to see this! I need a friend with a boat!! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome perspective!

Thank you for watching! I will not be going this Saturday, looks like 10' swells, wind should be alright though. Yeah that pool is great for saving the boat from some of the mess.

@ChrisPfish I usually go for the blue 🦀, king 🦀 legs, snow 🦀 legs. I've never had rock 🦀 before. I'm a geek🤣🤦

Another awesome one. Interesting how much water was moving even down at 100+ feet (around 7:00). Would love to see some rock fish / ling fishing.

I know the video isn't new but it is pretty darn good. I don't know what impressed me more, your trailer backing skills or you catching those Lings on such light tackle? Both are dazzling. I can't back a trailer to save my soul so that is always fun to see someone that can. I have never tried to catch a Ling on anything other then my Ling rods and reels with the heavy line and leader. Question: If you see this could you post about the swimbait you used and where you buy it? On line or do you have a Bass Pro close to you?

What kind of fish head where you using? And water looks so nice! Where you inside bodega? Or outside

I was primarily using salmon heads. The underwater camera had a lingcod head. I also like to put anchovies in the plastic containers. I put pots in both inside/outside. The underwater was just outside.

I use google maps to mark my crab pots. Just zoom in on your location. Hold your finger down in the spot you are at. Then a window pops up. Save it to your favorites and a heart will show up on the map for that spot.

Thank you for checking out the video! Good job on the limits. Yeah I lost a $700 rod/reel when I set it down on the side of the boat last year, line still in water, big ling swung it over before I could grab it. When we get some good sun out there I will rockfish with the camera on and maybe we can see some lost treasure on the bottom. Thanks again- Chris P
