You need to thrust the air, gas or whatever in front of the torpedo, that acts as a cancelling counter thrust, bubble will burst because can not travel forward just up, is like placing a huge engine pushing forward and another unwillingly pushing (backwards) gas forward and counteracting the rear thrust. you may surround the torpedo body periodically at the expense that part of the cone is always under water friction. Is the fight of opposing forces.

what do you think blew up the Kursk submarine these torpedos use hydrogen peroxide and mix with other chemicals if it touches brass or certain metals it burns and creates a chain reaction that pretty much cause a fire you can't put out with water these weapons are almost as dangerous to the ones launching it then the ones there launching it at

yeah but the downside.. it creates too much bubble.. it can literally make sonar technology see it underwater.. this is the reason why russian have decided to not to continue their own version of supercavitating torpedo.. its so loud that enemy ship's sonar can actually hear it from afar...

The exhaust is from rocketry, the speed plus hot gases and friction at that depth should be smoke or water vapor, is not deep, otherwise what is seen on surface would be widely spread out. high speed cameras can make that and faster. I have seen so many fakes I am cured of whatsssss? the water should show some point of boiling.

correct at the speed they run the whole torpedo becomes in gulped in gas and leave a very large trail behind them this looks like a normal torpedo speed up as to scare the west when really where smarter then that

Iran has had Russian supercavitating torpedoes for years now, the technology goes back to the 1970's IIRC. Why doesn't the US? Think about that, and get back to us.
@pauld.b71292 жыл бұрын
Easy answer, because they're tactically irrelevant. They've got a short range, and that type of warfare dosent really happen anymore. Our Navy operates in groups with carriers, and they prefer if aircraft do the dirty work while the ships stay safe hundreds of miles away. Every country adopts different strategies depending on many factors. Russians has different goals and enemies than the US. You can bet the US has at least tested every technology the Russians have, some they found tactically useful, some are deemed unnecessary.
@jerkfudgewater1472 жыл бұрын
US torpedoes (the newest ones) can go 50 miles… these go 7 It’s like a video game where they have a shotgun and you’ve got a sniper rifle.
@kek2072 жыл бұрын
They give away the position of the launching submarine, they can be evaded fairly easily when you know where they are add at all times. Also the launching submarine most likely goes deaf after launching one of these. Better to have stealth torpedoes as well as submarines instead of that. But of course if you are in a nuclear war and want to sink a Carrier strike Group .. this is the weapon for you
@charlestorruella8591 Жыл бұрын
because like the post above me they have a very short range they give off there position as well as use a very volatile fuel the same type of torpedo is what cause the Kursk to go down the Russians where trying to sell it during there war games. wonder if they sold any that day
@WhatIsThatThingDoing11 ай бұрын
Guidance that remains effective despite the bubble around the device is rather limited in range according to what I've heard so far. If the target were to move away while the torpedo is in motion, the torpedo would not be able/be less able to account for the target's trajectory, shortening the useful range.
