Volkswagen Golf GTI + Underworld have collaborated on a project that synchronises driving and music in real time. Play the road generates music via a phone app that's connected to the GTI's onboard computer, reading the driver's location and movements to compose music live.
This video is a live demonstration. The music is generated entirely by the GTI with the Play The Road app, performed on a closed track by a professional precision driver.

The idea is so cool. I'd love to hear something like this in a Forza game. And these songs specifically are so amazing, Underworld in full splendor. Essence. Maybe someday you'll share them with the public. I could listen to this dynamically changing music for hours.

I can see this as a new thing... ambient, procedural soundtracks that generate by you doing the laundry, or your facial expression, or your pulse rate. "Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, But to be young was very heaven!" Totally revolutionary! :D

Imagining the possibility to listening to underworld whilst driving, tunes, drums, with Karl speaking in it, all of it customized to changing roads' quality, speed, adapting to it within the same/similar tune, I don't think I could or would want to get out of the car, ever 😂 If this project is ca ten yo they should try it once more, there were lot of progress in technology since. Here's to futuristic music projects 😅

Would not play on win 7 or 8 using IE, chrome, Firefox or Safari. Finally got it to work on iPad! Lovely!

I can't get the video to play in any browser. :( For me, it gets to 00:24, freezes, then displays "An error occurred, please try again later."

absolutely pointless and kinda dangerous really.Officer - why were you driving so fast? driver - i wanted to hear underworlds drum and bass at 100 mph.
