If you're into sports and gaming, you're pretty much covered - unless you're a boxing fan.
Since EA discontinued Fight Night in 2011, boxing fans have had little to satisfy their appetite in the virtual world, but a game studio from Sheffield hopes to change that.
Undisputed's developers have told BBC Newsbeat why they felt it was time for boxing to make a return to the video game ring.

People need to support this game no matter what, even if it’s not so great. They now have a game to build on. You’ve gotta remember EA had Fight Night for years and years so it’s easy to tweak things here and there.. Steel City have created this game from scratch, this is their first attempt at a boxing game. Support the game, give it constructive criticism and over time we will get an incredible boxing game again.

It's so good to see a group of dedicated & passionate people who are all focused on making this one game. We used to see this sorta thing in the early 2000's. I'm so happy to see new combat sports games coming out. I could play these types of games and extreme games all the time and it's been so long since we've gotten anything new. I really hope this teams future flourishes and we get to see a bunch of future surprises from them. It's such a shame what Xbox & other mega companies have done to really impact the gaming industry & in a pretty negative way. Which makes me even more happy to see a company such as this full of passion and focus. In my opinion it's dev teams like this that is what makes the best games. I wish you all the best 🥊🥋🥊

I've been following this games steps for what feels like years, they've never got to grips with distance management and the hip movement makes up so much of a fighters movement, damn shame really, but it's not good, and now they've taken clinching out it's a poor effort after so long, looks nice though

Played it since it came out in early release on pc. Was a bit janky to start with but its in a much better state now. My only issue is price. I paid £24, or thereabouts, for it on pc but to pre order it on ps5 it's £65!

@@ldplays9431 lol You will get good I’m sure but Undisputed is very different someone with real world boxing knowledge will pick it up a lot quicker than a fight night gamer will as you need a good understanding of what punches to use to manage your stamina and things like that. I’ll give you a tip use your jab and straight right most the time to many hooks spammed for example will really make things a lot harder for you. I’ve got 260 wins and 120 losses atm so take my tip and will get off to a good winning start when it’s out on console. Use your double direction tap to avoid hook spammers circle ring wait until mid rounds for them to be half dead then smash them to pieces because that will be 90% the people you face online to start with. Obviously use your jab to try nick early rounds in the process. You want to be aiming to be going into round 12 with over 40% stamina left because below that is the point your boxer will just start waddling around with nothing left.

I was so hyped on the game. Bought it as soon as it came out in early access and oh boy was it terrible. They have made a lot of improvements, although they are constantly behind schedule, and it's now in a pretty good state. That being said, it's no where near as good as fight night champion. It just feels off. You can't slip punches well using the upper body movement, and while you can punch using the right stick, it doesn't work well and you are left having to use buttons for each punch type instead. The AI is also garbage. Even on the hardest difficulty I find myself using the worst fighters in a division against the best, and it's still too easy. Online pvp has it's own problems. You can't choose the side you're on for some reason which is annoying. Lag will make it look like you landed a punch when you didn't. And balancing issues mean if you want to win you have to fight in a certain way that isn't realistic or fun. Step back straight punches are overpowered, and people cheese tf out of them. Career mode is ok, but gets old fast. Especially since you can't move up weight divisions and you become way too overpowered by fight 20 or so. It also doesn't run the best. I would imagine ps5 will target 30fps with high settings and 60fps in a performance mode with stuff turned way down. 6/10.

@@CS-pl8fc It's a high bar. We had 5 of those over a period of a few years, which was a follow on from knockout kings which also had 5 entries over a few years. These guys are making their first game by the sounds of it, independent not EA, so it's a big ask to fill those shoes. Having said that, champion is just about perfect really for a boxing game, and I still enjoy playing it to this day, maybe they didn't have an idea on how to improve on it, and perhaps the fees the stars demand became too high for future entries. Nice to get a new game though.

No it is not. DO YOUR RESEARCH. The Community HATES the developers of this game & it is absolutely AWFUL. They have done boxing dirty to cash in on the void of no game.
