I was about 6-7 when Leroy was scoring for fun at Bristol city. I was a local lad and my parents got me a hamster … called it Leroy

Used to play against him at school in the late 90s. He was year 9 I was year 7 he was insanely talented! Got on well with him then he went on to play for Margate then Chelsea I believe (I think youth team) then I didn't hear of him till he went to Bristol City then he was in the Prem with Reading. I was pleased to see he went from King Ethelbert School in Kent to the heights of Premier league he was that good. All I had was a good free kick and could run (thought myself of a Beckham character lol) I only got as far as Sunday League

knowing someone who came to England after fleeing the Congo I know he had a determination, a drive to succeed that was beyond belief, growing up on a council estate in Boro I believe/hope I have some drive and my mate was the only person I know who could work all day, all night then repeat for just under 60 hours straight (for nothing more then a handshake bet, who can outlast the other lol) before we both decided what we were doing was actually counterproductive as a lack of sleep begin the hallucinations for us both lol, but I've gotta respect that drive, that never say die attitude, also i bet Leroy Lita could have given Paul Daniels a run for his money the amount of times he was disappearing lol, strange coincidence too my pal from the Congo could fall out and hold a grudge forever, over daft petty, lads being lads crap, (sound familiar lol) UTB

More Bristol City players 2000-2005 the nearly boys of Division 2 milked our clubs wages for 5 years but stayed interesting!!! Bristol City were in League 1 for 8-9 years during my adolescence to adulthood Gary Johnson would take us up still imo 🤷‍♂️
