Will you set up a go fund me so people can support you in helping him? He needs to get some replacement window seals and such to get rid of the rot and I would gladly donate for supplies and such. I’m sure you could get some local carpenters that might have a channel or not but could collaborate with you to help him out.

It was good of you to tell Norman how proud you are that he could let go of so many of his things and not scold him about his "junk". It's important to acknowledge his feelings about the things he has come across in his life that he kept to remind of something special. Good job on the patio as well.

Exactly that, I think deep down he knows he’ll never ride his scooters again but I bet he get some flashbacks looking at them, so you can understand why he can’t let go. He has done so well!

Depression is a vicious circle. Norman is at the stage where he can't maintain his property. There may be other issues. However, having more sunlight going inside the house will be amazing. He also can step outside without seeing trash and overgrowth. I like Norman. He seems like a gentle soul. Thank you for being kind and just sitting down to eat with him. I love your videos. We just had lunch and watched. It makes us so pleased to watch someone being helped. We love you, your father, and your entire family. ❤❤❤❤

I know exactly how Normans situation is, for I am the very same, when my ivy reached my roof, it alerted social services, they have been amazing.GODS blessings be with you Norman,on this journey, unless one’s walked in your shoes, they will never know. My 4-year-old would say, "you have a kind heart!" I love that with each day, Norman looks just a little bit perkier. You and Dad are amazing, wonderful humans ❤

We need a lot more people like you, your father, and family. There are older or disabled folks who want to stay in their homes but need a little help. Or a lot of help, if neglected. What you did for both Norman and his home is nothing short of miraculous! I was blessed enough to be able to get the company who keeps my community neat to also maintain my yard for a reasonable rate. Not everyone can get this. I love watching you and your dad bless someone every time you have a new video. 90% of the patio was removing overgrowth and ivy. And despite the overgrowth, some beautiful roses came up and bloomed. Now he needs some carpentry people to replace his window frames and the base wood in his home. Would some kind business person donate the wood to get it started? And a plumber to install an outside tap. "Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty." Great motto Theo!😂😂❤❤❤❤

I hope there are community health services available for Norman including nutrition, therapy for depression, and home upkeep/care. Most likely having a cleaned up yard may seem overwhelming and it all starts over without intervention. Sending blessings to you, Dad, and Norman. Beautiful job. 💚💚💚

The fact that he has been willing to allow this massive clean up to take place is a good sign. I think he needs the help I mentioned to keep going on this journey. It may not be possible without intervention because this is a big house to maintain and he's not in the best physical shape either. He seems like a delightful fellow and I wish him a bright, healthy future. 💚💚💚

Watching these last 3 vids of Norman has made me so tearfull and what you said to him at the end about hoarding pushed me over the edge, it takes someone with soooo much understanding to realise that to some people its just hoarding but to the hoarder its their possessions and there is so so many emotions when their items go, its relief, sorrow and when things are finally done its joy, thank you for helping Norman your boys are lucky having a dad and a grandad as kind and caring as you both are 💖

Holy Cucumber, Ben, I couldn’t believe it when you dug in and exposed the second stair! You found the stairs down to the garden! What a lovely garden it has the potential to be… I would love to see it planted and everything. Would give Norman a beautiful place to calm his mind! We are in our 70s. Fortunately we have two adult sons who help with basic landscaping chores. Nonetheless, it's amazing how quickly nature reclaims our gardens and patios!

There is a company I follow on KZfaq called Mountain Rug Cleaners (Cleaning?). He takes rugs that people have thrown out, cleans and sanitizes them (beautifully, I might add), then donates them to children’s charities, animal rescues, etc. I wonder if he might help as well.

It is so nice to meet people like Norman. I miss the UK so much, but I'm watching from Oklahoma. Depression is an ugly beast/monster that you don't know until you have it yourself. You get impatient with yourself, but you are helpless. What a wonderful gift you have given them. Every step outside is a step forward. Not to mention the extra daylight hitting the house and it was brilliant to fill those gaps with spray foam. You and your dad, as well as the people you help, bring joy clear across the pond. Your organization when tackling tasks gives me ideas for some of my outside projects. May God continue blessing you all.

If you have elderly family, friends or neighbors please remember them. Go grab coffee and sit with them. Even if it's 30min. They have the best stories. Some good advice too. They have given so much to be forgotten. I saw a man here I do not know that enjoyed having visitors. His face would light up just seeing you. That was beautiful to see. You made a man happy again. Wishing you good fortune. Wishing Norman a beautiful rest of his life from someone in the America that got to witness his joy.

My Scottish hubby watched ,I think day one and you handed Norman the sausage roll with the bread. I may of saw his tears welling up .and said Where is mine ? We do not have that in Oregon . Every morning in his way to work . Or come home from the butcher's and the bakery when we lived in Scotland. Its ok He has found Marmite and digestives...he has survived for 14 yrs.

Having done garden clearances, I know how exhausting that was unearthing Norman's lost patio. You both work so hard and make everyone's lives better. What a lovely man Norman is and he's obviously so pleased with the results. Fantastic and well done!!

Work in progress so, may the Force continue being with Ben and dad, for their hearts knows no bounds. I have no words to describe what my eyes are seeing, week after week, and the best is that it's not over yet! I'll be eagerly awaiting for the big reveal. Perhaps next week? Priceless to see how Norman's demeanor has lightened up considerably; this whole process will have far reaching benefits to his overall health and quality of life. And then some farm fun for the whole family. Can't ask for more!

The tidy up here for Norman and Betty is phenomenal and will mean SO much more than you could ever imagine. I did the same thing for people manny years ago while doing my teaching diploma and now as an older member of ‘life’ and disabled, I understand how much these clean-ups can help boost one’s morale and sense of well-being. God Bless you Ben, your Dad and your incredible family for supporting your vision. I know you’re not seeking public or official acclaim but you have earned it many times over. “Sir Ben’s Flawless Cleaning” has a definite flow to it.

Well done to both of you. You did more than clean the garden and patio. You found a beautiful rose that was determined to stay alive and bright. The house next door must be delighted to have sunlight shining through the conservatory. You also, most importantly raised the morale of Norman. Good job men. Rough! When I saw the stairs I thought wow who knew they were there. 72 now and still do my yard and house but as I age it takes longer and I will keep going. I imagined myself on a ladder like your dad whacking away at a tree with out holding on to something, those days are behind me.😃Those trees and vines were devouring Norman’s house so congrats. So sweet you brought him food, chairs and a gift card, cleaned the forest and did it all with grace and dignity for Norman. Thank you for a great video.🙂Beautiful kids!🥰

I’ve not seen any videos of such a deep yard and patio cleaning as this proved to be! You and your dad are relentless and amazing in working so hard to help this man!
