Jean Jacques by the time he was 18 probably had forgotten more about BJJ than I'll ever know. Guy is just unreal, he's on another level.

He was planning on using it as a fulcrum if the green Gi reversed the position. Making sure it was tight to use and not a false grip.

The levels to grappling is absolutely insane. Here you have two old guys who are seasoned black belts, one obviously more than the other. The point being, to see Professor Machado is able to make his seasoned black belts look like white belts in playful rolls is beyond impressive. If I can school black belts at that age, I'd feel like a beast haha

This video shows you that basic jiu jitsu works from white belt all the way up to the best in the world. There is not one technique in this sparring session that is not taught to anyone in their first year of learning jiu jitsu. Amazing to watch technique applied this beautifully.

Amazing. No wasted movements or energy. Every movement has a purpose and is super efficient. The atmosphere at that school looks amazing, looks like a great place to learn and grow.

Mr machado is an absolute artist. He’s fascinating to watch. He’s in constant calm control of what ever his partner is doing. I would find it such a privilege to be able to roll (and tapped out haha) by this master.

JJM - "This is one of my best guys", Mark Armstrong - "Doesnt look like it", lol. Im sure there was some respect by Mark given in the rolling, and no disrespect to Mark at all, but JJM made it look like rolling with a white belt.

I've not rolled with JJ, but I've rolled with one of his top black belts, Trujitsu founder and multiple IBJJF world masters champ Matt Baker, his wife Jill, also a BB, and their son Roman, a competitive purple belt. I've been into jiujitsu for over 25 years now, trust me when I say I know all about JJM. Utmost respect for him and all his black belts.

Master level, he sees stuff we simply can not see. (yet). When the other guy defends, we insist and try to power our way through, notice how master Machado flows into another attack, that the opponent was no prepared to defend. He's at east 2 or 3 moves ahead.

Because he'd crush you effortlessly. There's always someone out there who'll make you look like a white belt - this roll doesn't surprise me. If you train you'd know that.

@@kcwliew I don't think so. To be a black belt you already achieve some milestones that in rolling you behave like you've learned. Despite the skills of jean jaques, some Mark's defensive positions are poorly shown. Black belts rolling are very different from that (of course when the belt are conquered not awarded).

@@pablosanchez4575 it looks like Jean is rolling with a white belt. You should be giving your professor a hard time at that level. Make him know it wasn’t a mistake when he awarded you a black belt. Once in a while be able to tap him out. But It definitely shouldn’t be complete dominance. Especially if you’ve been rolling with the same guy for over ten years. You mean you haven’t figured him out yet even just a little bit?
