Same problem with all of these launch monitors: if you don't have your own place to hit balls, and you're restricted to the range, then you cannot get good data because...range balls. My local range has Trackman built in. It's based on radar, so you don't get spin numbers or anything else related to contact. But you do get direction and distance, and you can select the mode that tries to accommodate the fact that you're hitting range balls. It's pretty good. I use the SC 300i. There is very little I need from this launch monitor that isn't provided by Trackman. The big one is swing speed. But still, it has put my SC300i in garage. Any device I would consider must have range ball conversion capability.

We as consumers need to let these companies know we dont want to have to pay 200 a year just to allow me to pay 200+ more a year for 3rd party software. Im sorry am i the only one that is not buying into this. 200 gets you nothing, but just allows you to use other software. Stop buying it, and maybe they will change their model. This is just crazy.

Let's look at the subscription justification for a minute. I guess it comes down to how much you want and how bad you want it. How many rounds of golf can you play for $450 and how much time does it take. When you come home after work is the course lit so you can play. If the weather is bad or there is snow on the ground, can you sneak in 9 holes somewhere? Time is the biggest expense and obstacle to playing more golf and even a DIY home sim gives you so much time back. The main thing the subscription pays for here is to have a supported connection at both ends (unlike the BLP where you have to pay to unlock data). So you should be able to expect it to work when either side gets updates and if it stops working, you have someone to connect with. Using the Eye Mini with GSPro seems to be so much simpler to use because of this, especially for those who want to play golf and not waste time playing with the tech to make it work. It is like buying a PC, you need software to make the investment worthwhile. At least with the Eye Mini and the BLP the unit itself provides a screen and data. The Eye Mini & View software - which is also free on both the PC or iPAD, adds real value as Gabe showed. If you want more it is going to cost you more. It hurts a little, but I figure I would only have to use it about once a week to play sim and I would quickly have a return on my investment, and the first year the connector is included.

I hate it too..But if you think of this as a 5-7 year purchase before technology advances to greater things, it’s still much cheaper than unlocking it for 2k upfront.

I was basically convinced to go with the Skytrak+ (due to my space requirements), but found the Eye Mini Light previewed at a conference today (01/24/2024) and they are launching the indoor only version for ~$2500 to 2900 (depending on the sale). I know it may come down to annual subscription costs, but would you have an opinion either way? Uneekor states that the Lite version is basically the mini version without the screen on top and no battery (ie indoor only). We are looking for indoor only. I welcome any thoughts. I think either would work, but with the Lite version coming in at a similar price point to the SkyTrak+, I thought I would ask.

Great review as usual Gabe. Sounds like a good unit, but Im glad it’s not making me regret having bought the BLP year and a half ago. Recently had to get it serviced with Bushnell and the customer service was on point. I’m curious how the customer service will be like with Uneekor with it being a Korean company.

Great review!! Did you have any issues with data issues dealing with side spin, ball speed or clubhead speed?

No issues during my testing. Everything numbers-wise seemed inline with expectations. I do plan to test it up again some other devices in the future.

Gabe, Great content again. On another note. I know that the Wilson D9 Forged irons are over a year old and that you did a review of just the D9 Irons. Any thoughts on a review for the D9 Forged irons or have you already and I can't find it. Your club head speed is very close to mine. Which is one of the reasons i love your reviews over most others. Keep up your great content.

Gabe, you always do amazing reviews. Does anyone ask you for advice on how to put together the content which you compile for us mere mortals to consume? Thank you for being my favorite golf channel. I too have been waiting for an update / competitor to the BLP GC3. I wanted to know the stat or measurement which this Uneekor Eye Mini is missing which the GC3 has, and can I live without it. It does not appear other Launch Monitors out there are going to copy the use of High Speed camera at impact any time soon. It would be awesome to see the impact cam and judge my turf interaction. I am uniquely described as Dr. Divot when out on course. Anyway.. Great content, yes this device had come down to $3500, however, as of this comment it is now "sold out" and is on back order for $3999 with some EVNRoll putter discount for $500.

Wow! pretty impressive…I got confused though…on the range, you were hitting an 8 iron and getting 138 average…on the course, you have 148 to a pin and said your 9 iron was your 145 club? I think that is a great price point for it if you need an optical LM, though the SkyTrak+ is another one…For me, I’m out of the LM business now…had to move for the military and the house we are renting doesn’t have any place to set one up…HOWEVER, my local PGA Superstore (1.5 miles away), has a membership plan…for $150/YEAR, you get access to one hour per day in their hitting bays EVERY DAY for the year! You can use the range, or play any of the courses they have in their Foresight system, and then email yourself all the data from your session…I’m in the DC area; not sure if they do it everywhere….

Hi Pete, Generally my 9 iron is 145 and 8 iron is 155. Those swings with the 8iron on the range, were the first swings of the day so I wasn’t fully warmed up.

@@LetsPlayThru copy…that’s what I suspected…very cool device AND the data displays and ability to manipulate it look impressive…Currently using the SL4 since I have the PGA Tour Superstore to do more detailed work…I just use the SL4 at the range outdoors to see how my numbers are…

Anyone here have this? Do they ever have any connectivity issues? I am very sad right now. Built out my home simulator using the Skytrak+. First thing that happens is it disconnects 3 times before I can get a single swing off. I'm looking to return it and maybe get this but I don't want to get burned again.

You probably need to consider the long term costs - the subscriptions on the BLP seem like a lot more than the EYE MINI to play GSPro from what I have been able to discern. To get the data points with the BLP, I beleive you need a Silver or Gold subscription. The thing is these subscription features & prices can change fast so when you find a deal there is not always a lot of time to act. I don't believe the Silver subscription is available or is now call PRO. Their site says you need a GOLD subscription ($699/yr) to do simulation but there may be ways around that as long as the unit will present the data. The big advantage Gabe didn't highlight in his final remarks is the EYE MINI is supported by GSPRO and Uneekor direct - no third party connectors which greatly simplifies using both compared to working with a third party connector.

There aren’t any launch monitors that are to my knowledge. Most everything in this price range and up requires a gaming PC with a high powered graphics card.
